Good to see the "interrupter" (lawn mower) parked in the corner where your wife can access it whilst the bike isn't there on weekends or any other day !
Love that 701 content Dave! Because of your great coverage, this is most likely the bike I plan to buy when ready... inside 12 months I hope! Keen to see footage from the trek and all your other content Dave, great stuff!
Dave, remember those bolts holding the rear rack is bolted to the flimsy brass fittings in the plastic tank/subframe. I suggest you don`t get stuck or find a more solid anchor for the rear lift strap. Best of luck on your trip.
Love the 701 content. I think I am going to solve my fuel range dilemma with the Rade Garage Aux tank although I really like their storage bin too -- could put all my tubes/tools/tire levers under the seat. I had to order the Husqvarna windscreen from Poland - can't get it here in the States. Hope that screen is good because I paid a crap ton to ship it.
These 701/690's are the bees knees.Get yourself some Oxford heated grips and covert to tubless with a 150 rear.Best bikes on the planet.Sold my second one.Time to replace again.Look forward to the trip.Thanks.
I could be wrong, but I believe my 690 has an integrated fuel vent system with carbon. I had a tip over and fuel leaked out of the bling Acerbis cap. I just filled the vent with epoxy and have had no issues with the solution... (If you overfill your fuel tank, you will see fuel expunged from the right front of the bike... which leads to reassure that the tank has a factory vent.)
Great content and very informative as always but jeepers it's hard to watch with the shaking. Really looking forward to following this adventure 👍👍 safe travels.
Hi Dave Awesome set up love the 701 s You do know Nugget is from outer space from Planet Nugget Look forward to watching the adventures Rossy is a Legend. Stay safe Cheers
No interest in the Himalayan but it definitely comes with a good price point. Looking forward to footage of the trek and the arrow muffler install on the red rooster! Great channel. Keep up the good work lads!
It's funny, and I couldn't believe it, but the biggest search on MADTV by my subscribers is Himalayan. Remember 50% of MADTV audience are those either thinking about or very new to adventure. The Himalayan's greatest strength is it's price point that allows access to our brilliant world of motorcycle adventure and for that alone it gets a huge tick from me.
Looking forward to the next cast. Like the new mtn. bike from Royal Enfield. Some issues with frames. think that is sorted now. Good motorcycle work horse. Haven't seen any info on a Raid in USA yet.
Really enjoying your content Dave and your adventures, reminds me of home. One thing I am very curious about is whether you have ever considered gearing down your rear sprocket? I have the same 701 as you (2021) which comes with 15/46T (at least in Europe). Trying to decide whether to change rear to 48 or 49 since I find 2nd gear slightly tall sometimes in nally technical sections. Keen to hear your thoughts on this.
no flash or ecu possibilities for 690/701 MY 2021/22 for the moment Just o2 sensor dongle to slihhtly improve jerkyness with cat delete mufler of your choice.
@@MrEtnorb its a 02 sensor not a flash and not a replacement ecu. Its does bot exist right for 2021/22 model. Plus Brent removed it since its fuel consumption increased by 35%. In Europe here we have a rally motor o2 sensor that works very well
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I only say that because I know a guy that has one. He loves it for back roads and some gravel/easy dirt, not hard off road. I have a fairly tall inseam, his is short. The stock seat is not comfortable for me. I feel very cramped. But it's been great for him.
I have a first generation 690. Is the 701 better? Why no rally tower? When my 690 falls on the side, the foot brake leaver always bends into the casing. Do you never had this problem?
How will that left Mojave strap go running over the pipe guard? Just bought a 690 and that guard felt very hot, to the point I wrapped heatproof wrap around the pipe under the guard.
Good morning a question on your 701 the header pipe will it get red hot my sons new 22 701 gets red hot it will start a fire in dry brush is it because of uro 5 specks the bike is all stock only has 500km on it thanks
I have an ihpone 13, when I put the gimbal on the camera stabilisation fights with the gimble. I tried. I failed. I'm not going to go through a go pro.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV try turning the "Lock Camera" function on go to settings/camera/record video/ scroll to the bottom and turn on "lock camera" see if that helps mate maybe its the lenses switching
FFS sake ask an Indian how they pronounce it and come baack and apologize. :) "In India it is pronounced Himarlian. At least you had the emotional intelligence and humility to recognize that maybe you got it wrong. So I praise you for thinking before typing. A refreshing change from the other boof heads who've made a comment that' I've missed pronounced it."
You know what thought did. Go ask an Indian, don't take my word for it. I've ridden all through India. No better still go and watch HImalayan Motorcycle Adventure and listen to the Indian's pronounce it.
Hi dave I would really like to know your suspension setup on your 701. What static sag and rider sag for the front and rear? Is your suspension standard or had some after market parts fitted? Do you use the husky recommended clicks? Cheers
Spring for my weight plus an Xtrig on the rear (look them up). Springs for my weight for the forks. I use the recommended clock as a start once static sag is within limits.

Hi Dave, I really like your videos! Just a by the way, the Himalayan is pronounced like the Himalayas in Nepal, i.e. “Him-a-lay-an”. It’s definitely not “Him-A-Lian”! Sorry if I sound like a dick but someone needs to say it!
It is prounced in India where we rode it Himarliyan, like I pronounced it. You're not sounding like a dick, but like someone who hasn't ridden the bikes in India.
No need to call these bike little anymore, they are light! Calling them little just puts a mental barrier between lots of fellas and a purchase.
No MORE LITTLE :)
Love the Husky content. Picking mine up next week.
Good choice!
Can't wait for the finished videos of the trip!
Back now. The slog begins.

Very good point. I might move them forward as a result of your excellent reminder.

My 690 has Oxford heated grips they are great. Not interested in making it go tubeless.
I really like the AXP Racing bash plate I put on my 701LR

I don't know. I'm not sure I would recommend blocking the acerbis vent.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Do you recall if you stock keyed Husky fuel cap was vented?
We have this in india, we ride it on road, off road n trails. It's a very reliable n economical bike.

@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV yes I watched it n I enjoyed it. Your Indian guide was Dhakar Rider Ashish. 🥰🔥 During that Adventure ride.
I really liked Nuggets LR version.
So did I. But mine never came :(
Get the AXP bashplate, got one on my T7 and no more blings from the rocks sent by the front wheel
Third person to recommend the AXP

No OEM from Husqvarna.
Should try the axp bash on it 👍

Hi Dave looking forward to the husky footage,
Was that Himalayan the bike nugget rode in India
No.
hi dave, can you make a vid about your toolkit ?
I've put it in video before. I can do it again. No one is interested.
Legend.
How much this trip cost all together?
I don't know. Check with Ellyse and Woody and Ellwood Motorcycle Adventures.
Where can we get the podcast?
Make a trip to 'umling-la' in india. The pass is 19000ft above sea level. Bring out a husky there. 👍

I’m torn on which bike to keep, 2022 Africa Twin or my 2022 701 enduro
Tough call.

Why no rally tower?
When my 690 falls on the side, the foot brake leaver always bends into the casing. Do you never had this problem?
Got tower on my 690. I wanted to keep 701 simple. To stop brake bending or minimise it buy a good bash plate

worth the wait.

Fine, I've done it lots of times but do not let it touch directly on the exhaust or it's all over.

Do you notice any difference with 140 wide on the T7 over a 150?
Nope.
