Love everything about this basecamp. Had mine for almost a year and 10,000 miles plus 5 national parks…no complaints, worth every penny! Headed out for my next five this summer and fall.
Just finished first night at Colonial. Can not say enough about our positive experience. From receptionist, parts dept, Randy, Kevin, Kyle, Steve, Nick, and of course Patrick. Worth the trip, unit worth every penny. First class operation. Thanks again !!
@Sonja, as someone who hasn't ventured into the "camping/travel trailer" world, YET who likes "all things space-related", I ♥how this trailer is a bit like a space capsule! ^_^ The rear entry door really set it off. I was wondering why there wasn't a small set of steps for that door. Everything inside is fairly "tight" except the bed of course. I'd have to also place a spin-around stool in the kitchen. A lot of things were clearly a bit down-scale from some of the larger and longer Airstream trailers in Patrick's other videos. In this trailer I also liked the many "press & release, press & latch" doors on many of the compartments. I think I would like the bed to be simpler than having all of those different pieces to assemble/disassemble. I don't even need a bed so large. I could just move the backrest cushions & sleep on either of the benches. I'm also not a fan of those particular tables, I think I'd like a larger, single-piece table.
It would be so perfect if the windows wrapped all the way around where the bed is, and if there was a moon window above the bed so you could stargaze. I appreciate the large windows in the cook area, but I feel like more time is spent in the bed/table area, so it would be so nice to have large windows to enjoy the scenery while working or just laying in bed. Thank you for the super detailed walkthrough!
Can airstream place bunk beds in a base camp over the bed area? This would be perfect for a small family. Great video Patrick. Edit. I just saw the base camp 20x !
If your adventures take you even farther off the beaten path, the Basecamp X-Package adds more rugged features to make you ready for just about anything you find along the way. The package includes Goodyear® Wrangler® tires and black shadow wheels, plus a 3″ lift kit and a raised hitch jack foot pad for even more road clearance. Stainless steel rock guards and a solar window guard also keep the trailer looking good, even if you put it through the wringer.
Same old comment - this is 2022 and a 300Ah Lifep04 battery costs $1100. This should be standard. I'd still buy it to tow behind my Promaster - If I win the lottery...
Hi Patrick, my tow vehicle is a Hyundai Santa Cruz which has a 5,000 lbs. towing capacity and a hitch capacity of 500 lbs. Which is a better fit for towing, the Bambi 16 or the Basecamp 16?
@@colonialairstream I have but that's just a B+ class which is still to me a Van. It has a Murphy bed instead of a bedroom Maybe it's just because it's twice as expensive as a regular RV C class to make , So they wouldn't sell as many, They are really nice but those are made more for just couples
@@colonialairstream thanks. That’s the part is really don’t understand. If my tongue is maxed at 350, how do you “keep the hitch weight down?” I guess I just don’t really understand the towing science behind how a weight distro hitch works. 🤣🤷🏻♀️
Kim, there are different types of lithium battery technologies. The RV's mostly use LiFePO 4 which can be used in cold temperatures and also have heat so they can be charged when below freezing.
In my opinion, for the price, all the after market and add ons should be included. Upselling for small accessories at that price point, is ridiculous and insulting.

Glad you enjoy it.
Love everything about it. Except the price.
Thank you for the feedback and for watching!

Good stuff, thank you very much for your business.
I love this Airstream. The customer added some great options!
We agree!

I honestly have no desire to ever camp or have a camper, but your video's are so interesting! All the stuff you have to know...
I appreciate that!
At first I thought I had clicked on the wrong thumbnail and was watching some sort of fashion shoot until I recognized you, Patrick. 😂

Edit. I just saw the base camp 20x !
I was going to say, check out the 20X.
Love it!!
Glad you like it!
All about the Patrick.
Thanks for the support.
Why do they insist in only giving 6'3 inches of headroom. Taller people are like wtf
This is just one model. There are other small Airstreams with 6'7" headroom.
What is the difference between the 16 in the 16 X thanks

Thank you for the suggestion.
Could a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport (2-door) tow the 16X Bascamp?
Jeep did not engineer that vehicle to tow something this size.
I like. It. Which is better deal for this one or bambi? For the price
They are both great values for the buyer that determines which style and function will work best for them.
Hi Patrick, my tow vehicle is a Hyundai Santa Cruz which has a 5,000 lbs. towing capacity and a hitch capacity of 500 lbs. Which is a better fit for towing, the Bambi 16 or the Basecamp 16?
Also, my toe\w vehicle OCC is 1,411 lbs.
The Basecamp 16X would be the best for your vehicle.
Can you get an awning?
it has an awning rail so you can purchase whichever awning you would like to that is on the aftermarket.
Does air stream ever make a large size vehicle type RV like a C class? All i ever see are travel trailers and vans
Have you seen the Airstream Atlas yet?

With all the extras that you talked about what does the base camp cost at that point?
The Basecamp 20X can range from 65,000.00 to $72,000.00 for 2023 with all factory options and many aftermarket accessories.
What make and model is the demco hitch lock?
We sell them through our store. parts@colonialrv.com
What do you think about Jeep Wrangler 4dr towing the 16X?
It is rated to tow a max of 3500 lbs, Its doable if you keep the hitch weight down.

Patrick, will Airstream be a Hershey this year?
Yes.
Don’t lithium have problems that become permanent with exposure to extreme cold?
$1,000 for a backup camera? Really?

42? it's at 46 now...dang.
New features added.
❤
Thank you, Heather.
Could damn near live in that thing full time…
Thanks for looking.
Can you just sleep on the narrow sofa
Yes, some do.

You don't have to add any of the items mentioned, not many people do but it was nice to show the possibilities.
Way to expensive
Thanks for checking it out, sorry its not within your budget. We do have many used small Airstreams in stock.
