- To see where the new Moto Guzzi Stelvio fits into the adventure tourer world, we took it, a BMW R1200GS, KTM 990 Adventure and Triumph Tiger to Italy to visit the world famous Stelvio Pass.
Of course, we checked to see if it was open first...
Watch the video below to see how the group test went and read the full article in MCN, Wednesday, 9 April, 2008

Mcn test review. Which is the best bike ?
Err... BMW.
What do you think? Err..BMW because the other one is too tall for me.
What about you? Err...BMW. Why? Err..BMW.
And you ? Err...bmw because everyone said so.
Yeah.
Stelvio Great bike
I had a stroke watching this video. Absolute dross
Moto Guzzi Stelvio group test = an advert for BMW.
Surely with the age of the lads you would know how to adjust a tickover knob,, 5k on the ktm wtf,,, guzzi is a bike like marmite, but I think the charm of the v twin opposed engine and shaft drive set it apart from anything else just my thoughts only riding bikes over 30 years 😊
Worst 'review' ever.
moto Guzzi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
?????? what the ffff, are these guys raiders? they would go better with some pites of beer.
if they did get paid for this, then it was a waste of money, time and everything else besides.
zero minus
oh bloody hell! I guess if you wanna hear about the guzzi you needed to pick up the actual magazine right?
What was the point of that?
A load of blokes talking about a kind of bike none of them actually like or ride!
Boring!
MCN reminds me of MotoUSA. They both spend time and money doing totally pointless video "reviews". These things even hardly qualify as a summary, there's just nothing here at all.
knobs
This report told me absolutely nothing! The riders seem more verbally challenged than vertically challenged. What is the point of getting sports bike riders on these? what do they know about VBTs...."like two wheel Landrovers"...what with around 400bhp per tonne? Wally. The KTM is the odd one out, being off-road bias, the others on-road bias. None of these numpties have a clue, and are totally sold on the BMW image.
bmw bmw dum dum
Its no surprise that Moto Guzzi struggled to sell the lovely Stelvio with unbelievably crap coverage like this to contend with. OK the Stelvio had its faults, but this film tells us nothing of any value!
