This song also gives me goosebumps. I first heard it when I was very small and my Mum and Dad loved it, always laughing at Frankie’s high pitched voice. I love to remember them laughing. My Dad would have been 100 years old in 3 days time. It’s wonderful for me to have those memories and having something wonderful to bring them back.
Glad you are doing more of this fabulous group. So many great songs "Silence Is Golden", "Sherry", "Candy Girl", "Ronnie", "Dawn", "Let's Hang On!", "Working My Way Back To You", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" etc. When Frankie went out on his own in the 70's, he had the hit songs "My Eyes Adored You" & "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". Also he had a hit with the song "Grease" from the movie.
Two of my favorites 'Opus 17' & 'Save It For Me'. ' Can't Take My Eyes Off You' came out in 1967. 'Swearin' To God' & 'Who Loves You' came out in the 70s.
I had forgotten THIS song, which I so loved as a tweener on the edge of adolescence! imo, songs like this -- literally "rags to riches" -- helped give my 60s gen a sense of social justice. Thanx for the memories Sarah!!!
This was the first record I ever bought. I got to meet them all at Freedomland in the Bronx. A performance way back in 1964. Ahhh the memories. I was 11 years old, and yes they performed this song. It was a big hit for them.
Frankie Valley and The Four Seasons . What vocals these guys have and Frakies Falsetto . This is one of my favourite songs of all time . Thanks Sarah . .
My aunt Gill love this song and she used to played on her record player and she would dance around the room and I still remember that i was just a kid I was only 10 years old ❤
Frankie valli was discovered singing around his neighbohood r in New Jersey. He was put together with a local working band and that seened to work very well. He caught the attebtion of the mob and garnered support . The four seasons with FRANKIE VALLI soon had a hit record and followed up with a string of hits that was quite amazing never been a singer quite like Valli.
Another beautiful reaction from you, sweet Sarah. ❤ I'm so glad you liked the recommendation and followed it. As you correctly note, it is both exquisitely beautiful and very sad. You might equally enjoy "Big Girls Don't Cry." It seemed that back in the day they couldn't record anything that didn't immediately become another huge hit. 😊
my first favorite rock band. thanks for doing this. if you love the vocals, and it appears that you do, 'i've got you under my skin' is the proverbial tour de force.
I just got done listening to the most beautiful love song, by the artist Dionne Warwick. The song is called 'I Know I'll Never Fall In Love Again'. Dionne's voice is so powerful, and you feel the words. Try it, you'll love it. 😊
You have a good choice. Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons are one of the very greatest legendary Supergroups of all time. Rag Doll is one of their greatest hits..
Four seasons always a great choice. Those jersey boys never disappoint. Your reaction was beautiful and so nice to watch. Love your accent. Plz take this with the proper attitude it is meant to convey.....you are so pretty.
I love this song. I notice that written, in brackets, is “Shag Rag Doll”. Totally wrong, it should be “Sad Rag Doll”. Just to let you know, it means something derogatory in the U.K.
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons had loads of fantastic songs. There is a film about them called 'Jersey Boys' and also a musical.
I saw Jersey Boys twice on Brian’s it was fantastic!
The Four Seasons is a good choice. I still remember the first time hearing their song "Sherry" in '62. That's how good and different they were.

I really believe this song more than any of their others was meant to showcase Franki Valli's falsetto

"Dawn" is another TOP-tier song from the Four Seasons, where the fortunes are reversed..

By the way, I was enchanted by the story of the song's beginnings.
