You know you're killin it when every single person in the crowd is making a stank face at the same time. Amazing synergy as a band, that whole room is just grooving having a good time.
That was so sick. All pocket and in tune with the music, no selfishness or over Flash. He let the band shine and totally accentuated them. They were all so incredible.
This is by far my favorite set up,song what ever you want to call it in the Zildjian lineup. Marcus Gilmore just because a legend in the drum world to me. His smoothness, pocket game is ridiculous 🙄 the song itself has a unique start and drop off. Know my dad's a old school drummer and I play a little to. But I wouldn't have never thought to do a three footed set up like that. I think that second high hat is what made that session different from everybody else's set up. You could actually hear it in the bridge of the song. Well done Marcus Gilmore 💪🏿🎶🎶🎶🎶 Larnell Lewis, Marcus Gilmore, Nate Smith, Sarah Thawor and Aaron Spears are my favorite drummers right now.
This young man is effortless totally in control, yes he is quick, but with a lot of finesse., not just mindless pounding..thanks for uploading this so glad young musicians pushing the music forward!!!!
Bro.....I stumbled upon this and this is AMAZING. Had a smile on my face the whole time watching this. The entire band was amazing and Marcus is from another planet.
man watching these videos are so fun I'm the only drummer in my class, been playing since I was 12 (15 now), I'm never gonna say I made it as a drummer until I'm on Zildjian Live
Thank God he allowed the music to be heard, it was like one coordinator effort, I could honestly hear everyone playing...it's good to hear drummers do what good drummers do, and that is to keep the timing, flowing in and out of the music while maintaining the groove... man some drummers all they wanna do is suck all the air out of the room while leaving everyone exhausted.
There is nothing like great music and great artists to forget about all the worlds problems and just smile, bob you head to the music, and do your best air band! Great Video!
If you didn’t get goosebumps listening to this you’re dead inside. Sheeeeesh. The slides on that synth. MONONEON. Marcus with 2 hi hat stands and fitting in the pocket, hitting that 2 and 4 like it owes him money. GOOD SHIT.
Any time night or day, this puts me in a very special place. It is so new and good it feels as old as the soul of music. This is on a whole different plane of existence.
bro ,,,its so tight to see you growing you have come so far bro definetly paying off to keep believeing in yourself ..i been a sub for about 2 yrs now i think keep doing you bro.. much bless from oklahoma ..
This one is my favorite, just because of groove. That quarter note feel when the band switches to keeping time with the quarter hits is amazing. That and the jam at the end.
Man, there are people who ''serve the music'' and then there are those who partner with it, in a religious sense they get that whole ''I have not called your servants but friends'' thing. Marcus has chops and body control for sure, even his breathing is Zen like - which is important - but what he has that puts him way up there is how he listens. Take keyboards in a mix, for example. There are keyboard sounds that, by themselves, aren't very pleasing, they have raspy 3k-5k nasally qualities that might make anyone say ''Nope, I'd never use that''. But, in a mix with horns and guitars and human voices they sound awesome. You have to learn, as a sound engineer or musician, where that envelop is, where that cut-off frequency lies to where an otherwise overly raspy thing begins to bleed into just enough CUT to justify its being there at all. That skill, that ability, can be turned into a kung fu like determination support mechanism. It's not so much critical listening as it is affirmative listening and there is a difference. Affirmative listening is when you push the sound(s) you are making right up to the edge of another sound just to the point where they mesh, then you can back off or step over that line at will. Marcus has that down. Review his performance here again and watch for the tells of how he moves his head. Even though he is in phones he's still craning that neck as if he's not got them on and physically searching, trying to place his ears, for where that equilibrium is. That man's ears are sublime tools not just 1-way communications devices.
I'm still sorry to hear you original channel got canceled, but it looks like you're well on your way to getting your original fan base back! So excited to see this channel gaining traction

At 1:32 I think that's Darshan Doshi, a well known Indian drummer. I know him from the Indian Coke Studio.
