I've seen ONE Midnite Express that I know of, at Lebanon Valley in NY, some years ago. Not sure if it was an original or clone, but it was real nice either way.

Kenny Robinson the dealer made (most by Mr Norms) Midnight Express had a 440 in it

Yep Lil Red is correct. Very very rare truck. Not many exist. Back then you couldn't just go to the dealer and point to a brochure or another truck on the lot and get the midnight express. You had to know exactly what to tell the dealer to order for you. If I am not mistaken (I researched it years ago) you had to order the prospector package combined with the warlock package and I don't remember what package you had to order for the engine and trans but I think it was a combination of something like 5 or 6 different trim/drivetrain packages before you made a midnight express truck. Some people just went straight to Mr. Norm but ordering a Midnight Express at a dealer was a difficult thing to do. Alot of dealers back then didn't have a clue what they were.

My father got one back then and all he could talk about was how that 440 was the best engine to put in that small truck. I can remember him street racing it in Kalamazoo Michigan on stadium drive. I remember him and my uncle welding steel pipes to the rear differential and taking their weight lifting set weights and sliding them onto the pipes to put extra weight on the rear axle for increased traction. This way it didn't sag the truck box down in the back by adding the weight into the back of the the box itself. This is an old racing trick some people still use it today when the weight is on the axle housing itself it leaves the vehicles normal factory Stance unaffected. And you do not gain any shock or spring travel from side-to-side or back and forth just a good solid bite from the rear rubber during the launching heavy acceleration .😊
