    Wow Marcia I’m shocked at your consultant!! That statement could have lead you down a dangerous road of negativity around food! I still enjoy SW and am at target however I’ve always eaten seeded bread and count it as a B choice. Life is too short to eat things you don’t really want. We are educated women and want to live a full life not to worry about how many syns or too many A or B choices we have had today. Excited for you and will be supporting you all the way 💪💞

      Thanks my love. The thing is she is very dedicated to her role but I really don’t think she realised what she did …. Or did she? Either way it was a wake up call for me. Luckily I’ve never had a negative relationship with food but this could have been different for someone else.

      Hi Maracia I know where your coming from I’m getting fed up with it me and my husband go out for coffee once a week as he works and he does like to get us a muffin and I get so cross as I can’t have it and life’s to short xx

      Thanks lovely. It got worse. She then took screen shots of my social media when I was on a night out and sent a text to her friend slagging me off but she sent the message to me by mistake - I reported her to slimming world HQ … so shocking xx

    That’s exactly how I feel, I’m in my 70’s and refuse to stop having a toasted tea cake or a cake or chocolate. It’s taken me 18 months to lose 2 stone and I still go to group because I absolutely know if I stop going I’ll put it all back on again. And more. It’s great that you can eat so much on the plan but God, at my age I’m not doing without the things I love. I’d be as miserable as sin. Life’s too short. Sue.

      Oh hun …. I feel your pain …. A few years ago I had the same thing with a chocolate orange - but I kept replacing and eating, replacing and eating - 6 times🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

    I wish you all the best on your new journey ,you sound very positive and ready to change your lifestyle.I left SW and did the NHS 12 week calorie plan for a month or two then i slipped up.I recently got a TKR so i cant ecercise but i still love counting the calories and im losing the lbs.I need too write everything down to track better but i can have what i want ,most of it being healthy.Looking forward to your vlogs.xx.

    It’s great to see how happy and positive you are about your new journey. I’m sure you will do really well and enjoy having a much less restricted choice of food.
    I’ve been doing Nutracheck and I love it! I’ve lost 2 stone 😊
    I really enjoy scanning my food and logging it. It’s so easy. I also have upped my protein intake as it really helps with feeling more satiated.

    I too stepped away from SW for similar reasons....whilst I'm grateful for the weight I did lose, I know I couldn't continue feeling restricted. Currently working on the right journey for me & looking forward to seeing your new journey!😊❤ xx

    Makes sense,used to love slimming world but not any more too restrictive,loved the green and red days fell out of love with diet,like you going to sort my own plan doing lot of research but want to enjoy foods I like

    Wow that consultant is way out of order. What my consultant says is if you decide to eat something just be aware that you may not get the results you hope for. He says its your journey, I am not here to tell you what to eat, I am only here to advise and support you. I would never allow someone to chastise me like I'm a child. I love SW because I need structure personally but I agree that to have a teacake for your lunch isn't any different than eating a jacket potato with beans and cheese. You have to do what is right for you and I support you all the way my lovely. We are all trying to reach the same goal and if that takes a different route then it doesn't mean we can't still support each other. Although you aren't doing SW and I am doesn't stop us sharing our journey's together. I am sure you can achieve what you want and I wish you all the best lovely Marcia.     To add scales don’t always show weight loss, measure your self . I now focus on moving more and eat lots of veg and protein for nutrition. Xxxxx Do what’s right for you marcea. You look fab anyway . ❤❤❤❤❤

    This is the reason why I stopped SW years ago , it depressed me . I would be so restricted all week and only lose half a pound which in turn depressed me , and I would then have a blow out . I now eat in moderation, eat what I want when I’m out , and enjoy life . Jo wicks calls the scales the sad step which is so true . Life is too short . BTW I’m slimmer than I was on slimming world .

      I used to measure myself and I’ve been forgetting, must do it again. I have a bit of a blow out after group, I look forward to that. I don’t get any exercise which is silly but I eat lots of veg - most days. It does tend to rule our lives doesn’t it. When my countdown ends I might take a break.

    Like your video on the truth that you said. I want to build muscle and lose fat . slimming world is not going to make that happen me building muscle and losing fat to what it says on the scales for a success in the group every week

    👏🏼👏🏼 this is why i will never do slimming world again. They have people running these classes who have zero knowledge on nutrition. Not being mean but alot of the time they cant manage their own weight.
    Because they cant impart nutritional knowledge yes people may very well get to target, but not learn anything so it goes back on. This means the circle starts again and youre paying them again.
    Im a big fan of 80% nutritonally dense 20% shite, do your steps. Theres no such thing as naughty food its either nutrient dense or not.
    We need fat to be able to absorb certain minerals.. sorry for this being long i can bang on all day 😂😂

      Thanks hun …. To be honest I’ve felt like this for a while. It’s not sat right with me for years really and I don’t know why I even went back. Sometimes you just need a comment about a blumming toasted teacake to make you see the light lol.
      I know exactly what I need to do, I’m not daft, just been in a rut and now I’m free. I totally agree with everything you’ve said ♥️. Keep banging on - I love it.

    Hubby lost 6 stone (from 18 stone to 12ish) through low carbing (kept it off for 4 years). No calorie counting - weight lifting and walking. Never hungry. Eats loads of meat and eggs. Still has loads of beer on weekends. He thinks SW is a load of rubbish.
    You look fab anyway - life is for living!❤

    I got to target about 17 months ago and haven’t been at that weight hardly since. I just keep paying up every week and getting nowhere. I’ve had one text from my consultant in that time saying did I want some help but the next week at weigh in she said nothing, it made me feel that that text was probably automated. Want to eat unprocessed food now but it’s difficult fitting syns to food that is full fat and has no additives in it. I’m getting towards giving up SW.

    I refuse to join any diet club to tell me what I already know. I've devised my own plan, which is working for me. I eat minimal carbs all day but eat my normal evening meal. There are no puds or sweets during the week but weekends I take off. Puds, sweets if I want them. But as I'm getting used to not having them in the week. I'm not looking for them at the weekend. I'm trying to think, pre 1980. We only started getting fat when fast food hit the streets. Avoid processed food, but keep them for treats if you must. I don't feel like I'm missing out.

      I know. I totally agree my love. I have a lot of knowledge around nutrition particularly with my job prior to retiring. I’m feeling so good that I’ve finally let go of SW and can just apply what I already know.
      It sounds like you are in a great place with your lifestyle. I also agree full about the fast food culture.

    I've always thought that as soon as you restrict something in your diet then that becomes pretty much all you can focus on (a bit like not needing the loo until you pass the sign that says next services in 10 miles, and then suddenly you're bursting!)
    Also, I have always wondered about SW and how the weigh-ins work if you are losing weight (fat & size) but gaining muscle mass, because as far as I know muscle mass weighs more, so you might be gaining in all the right ways and never know, and still punishing yourself by eating even less as a result!
    I'm trying to keep a food diary for the rest of this year mostly to find out what and how much I'm eating, and then if it turns out I'm doing fine on the amount of calories but I'm just eating too much crap, then I can look to make swaps in some places and for the things I can't do without trying to work in some more exercise to counter things.
    You're quite right that in the end it all boils down to spending more calories than you take in.

    Have you all watched Lauren Slims , she is smashing SW. The thing is a jacket with tuna & sweetcorn with fill you up more than a teacake , a teacake is yummy but sugar & empty carbs . A good eay to do SW is to not have treats everyday & save syns for a treat like a teacake. A lot of TH-camrs are leaving SW now & trying new things. I hope it works for you , will be interesting to see how it goes. Good luck ❤

      Yes I have seen her videos - she’s doing so well.
      I completely understand about what to eat with SW but my point is that the plan does not allow you to go out and have a coffee and cake if you want- that for me is just not real life. I didn’t want a jacket potato that day, I wanted something in Costa.
      I think SW does work but at a personal cost which is why so many people are leaving (not just TH-camrs). I’m really excited to be able to have the freedom to have seeded bread if I want and to feel less restricted over all.
      I’ll be sure to keep you all updated with my progress.

    This is exactly why i came away from SW too, i felt too restricted, there has been time in the last 6 months Ive thought about going back and then remember all the food and drink ( mainly cocktails and gin) i’m ‘not allowed’ and changed my mind again 😂

    Well I joined Zoe personalised nutrition, purely for health and not weight loss, but have lost a stone over about 6 months. It’s been a huge surprise but I never feel hungry. I have almost cut out ultra processed foods and eat in a completely different way to suit my body given my fat and sugar responses. I’m very happy and feel really good but it’s not for everyone and it probably wouldn’t suit you.
    I’m also looking at weight training reluctantly. I don’t love it but at my age and with osteoporosis need it. I do around 15,000 steps a day. Lots of yoga.
    What your consultant said was awful. Very intrusive. What on earth also is wrong with seeded bread?
    I’m just eating what suits my body and supports my health, but Zoe says no food is forbidden, just eat better choices the rest of the time to balance it out.

    I'm doing SW online and have hot chocolate 4x a week at least! 4 syns plus healthy A. Still losing weight!

      I meant to say though …. You can’t have hot chocolate AND a cake/toasted teacake and stay within your daily syns. That’s my point. Good luck though with your journey my love. I used to do the same re synning hot chocolate/lattes etc xx
