Excellent video! I never knew what it meant to be a kit pen -- it's a lot more difficult than I thought it would be! I just thought it was gluing together a kit.
In my case, I got a cheap second hand lathe from a regular hardware store. I don't know much about wood lathes but I would recommend getting a second hand one. It's the cheapest way to try the hobby.
