My new shell pink MiM HSS strat w/ roasted maple neck arrived the other day and I couldn’t be happier. Blows my 2 previous MiM strats out of the water especially in terms of resonance and build quality. I thought I’d want to swap out the pickups, but I’m quite satisfied with the alnico 5’s. The only beef I have with the neck is that the black inlays on the side of the neck are hard to see in the dark- would’ve been more practical if they were white. But other than that, killer axe!
I have this exact model in sonic blue and you're right, the satin finish on that roasted maple neck is silky smooth. The Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups have that vintage strat sound we all love. These guitars with these features and at this price point were such a steal, I bought the tele model in butterscotch as well (see my profile pic). The tele came with Custom Shop '51 Nocaster pickups and sounds fantastic.
I have this very guitar and it is a killer, I have had 20+ strats including custom shop, and for a great playing sounding strat these are unbeatable, regarding the treble on these custom shop pickups, lower them down a bit and they sound great, think this demo guitar pickups are set too high. Believe me these pups are great, I have had all the boutique pups and these are great. All in all a great guitar for an unbelievable price 🎸
This strat sounds amazing. It sounds way brighter than most strats but also has a way more beefy low end. i’m assuming that’s supposed to be the case? Also I’d be curious to know which amp your playing through cause you don’t always mention it
Wish I would have bought mine from you instead of CME. When I took the strings off, the saddle screws came tumbling out of the saddles. String tension only thing holding the saddles together. No setup from them before shipping. Won’t make that mistake next time! Nice demo!
Alert : I bought one of this guitar , Fat 50s custom shop pickups are not included , the pickups are generic single coils made in Mexico it's a lie they include high-end pickups!!!
Some shops got to choose higher spec pickups, some got the Fat 50s, 'guitar guitar' in the UK got them and some US stores, you should confirm with the store they had the Fat 50s upgrade
@@stevefoster7529bought one from Guitar Center in fiesta red. I was asking the salesman over the phone if he recommended the Squire classic vibe, and he said if I was looking for a vintage sounding Strat and didn’t minds spending a little extra, he had a fiesta red player LE with CS fat 50’s for $700. Went down and bought it that day…. What r the chances they aren’t actually CS pups u think?
Those Fat 50’s p/us are garbage; thin and brittle sounding. Neither ‘Fat’ nor ‘50’s. Why Fender insist on marketing them as some kind of fab after market mod is a mystery.
@@markerf16 I have also had them in Strats since ‘97, including a Custom Shop. The Bridge & neck sound ok but the bridge is thin and reedy. They’re more ‘perceived value’ than an actual improvement, in my opinion anyway. Cheers

Mine is arriving on Tuesday. Can't wait! Was going to buy the vintera in blue until I found this. Glad I did.

Perhaps that roasted neck isn't maple? I'm looking for more of an dark orange colored roasted maple neck.
Firs like, first comment for a nice video!
that is a failed roasted maple neck i mean wtf is that bud

I think you need to clean your ears out Timothy. There is NOTHING wrong with these pickups. They sound perfectly fat to me and anything BUT brittle.
I've owned several strats with these pickups. I've found them to be very good
@@engelsjn mid & neck position I wholeheartedly agree. I always found the fat 50s bridge p/u to be a tad too thin and screechy sounding for my tastes,
Had them in a 2015 .. took awhile to get use too them. Then I loved them.
