Played one of these today and WOW these are on a completely different level. They feel and sound much more expensive than they are. I hope they are here to stay because Squier knocked it out of the park.
I've been wanting to play one of these really bad. I play a lot of different stuff from blues to metal and was wondering how this guitar would hold up for playing metal on.
About the roasted maple, sure, but more importantly it's stable and imo it FEELS GOOD in your hand. Not sure if it really sounds different but i do prefer it.
Alright! 30 seconds in and my question has already been answered. "Can this guitar get dirty?" Yes! I had to watch three other videos before learning this. Squier has some cool stuff lately. New in June '23 is the Squier Paranormal Stratosonic with P90-like single coils. I'd like to have both of these guitars!
Wait so it doesn't have the ability to have just the bridge pickup? I mean it's cool tho making two separate single coils pair up to be a humbucker that's tight. Even tho that's technically what a hum is it's still cool to see it done like this.
Played one at GC today and really liked it. I notice he tries to hide the buzzing on the single coil settings by playing right away and turning the volume off immediately when done. Nice try but you can hear it. Might want to swap for noiseless pickups.
You speculate to much. What does buzzing mean and why would he hide it? Most likely action is to low, you assume the instrument has some imperfection like in level frets.
Just got one, swapped bridge and middle pu wires. Result...p1 bridge s.coil ,p2 out of phase unusable,p3 all 3 thin sound but ok for funky rhythm,p4 neck and bridge tele sound good, p5 usual neck pu but good nonetheless. I'm no tech and I'm sure that switch could spit out some other interesting sounds. Experiment. Good workmanship and value compared to other Frender models. Contemp Jaguar next...
killing me with that tonewood bullshit ahahahaha. definitely don't talk about how much more stable roasted maple is, which is the main benefit of the torrefaction, or talk about how incredibly smooth the neck is, mention how it affects the tone haha

Two years later: great demo. Thank you!
sounds great. and looks even better. I am impressed. thanks.
Your tone is magic! Subscribed!
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing!
Big Thanks for that, you explained the wiring scheme!
I was wandering can i put those singles to series, but no More Thanks to your info 🙂
It would have been cool if the pickups and control knobs were also black, considering the bridge, pickguard and tuners are.
Great sounding Squier, seems like a heck of a guitar for the price. Thanks for the review.
Are the comparable in the build quality of the classic vibe series?

Hope they will not stop producing them too quickly. That's my go-to strat when I'll get bored of my LP.

I wonder how would it sound if you switched the bridge and middle pickup with two hot rails
Also good for Jazz with a suitable amp of course

I agree should have the bridge single coil too, that's the best sounding position.

@@bluwng he means the 60 cycle hum lol
00:00 song name please
what song intro
How does the contemporary Strat Special compare to Harley Benton guitars?
Is it me or was the hum / feedback on overdriven single coil demo really bad?
There are noisegates.
True single coils are inherently noisy. Just the nature of the beast.
The pickguard can be replaced with a traditional SSS?
I would like to know that aswell
No. Look how close the middle pickup is to the bridge pickup
God I wish they did this in the pink colour! Or offered the white one with baked maple board.
I knowwww. not a fan of the blue
Is the special or the HH FR better?
depends on if you want single coils and 2 point trem or humbuckers and a floyd rose
I have to watch this video now and then just to hear what I bought if I was playing good. For me as an old beginner it‘s like lightyears away. 😂
I started thinking, would you recommend it over an regular SSS strat, like some other squier?
Tbh I have the black with the brushed metal pick guard. It's a beautiful guitar my friend. Well worth the money.
hi is it 2 bridge pickups ?
What kind of matchbox you play it through? Sounds like very thin! Or is those pickups so awful?
but other features are very good!
I am very undecided ... Which one to choose as the first electric guitar? I'm between the Stratocaster Special and the HH FR Stratocaster.
I was deciding the same. I probably didn’t need the Floyd Rose but I love how the guitar looks, feels nice too.
Buy both
A floyd rose bridge might be a bit too cumbersome for a first guitar.
Good but, if I want to get "ppsition 2" from a regular strat, I won't get it???

This guitar made my short list to buy but have seen too many unboxings where the guitar had flaws. Questioning the quality.
If it was up to me i would do bridge/middle series, middle, bridge/neck series, middle/neck parallel, neck.
And if you understand guitar wiring it shouldn't be too difficult a mod to do (maybe a little bit of a fun puzzle)
Floors me how much Squier has come up
does it have a fulll sized trem bloc?
Is it better than the Squier Contemporary RH?
I know a few professional guitarist in Philadelphia who are paying a lot of attention to these guitars
Where did this come from?! I was thinking about getting a Squire Tele to keep in living room by the TV, but this is nice.

Yo tengo una es fantástica!!!❤ Saludos desde México!!!❤
A roasted neck won't change the sound... A pickup cannot sense that.
