Sold my monologue and minilogue to get this. I played the prologue in the store and thought this sounds incredible but I don’t have room and it has no sequencer. It checks every box for me Sequencer Minilogue size Monologue style filter Multi engine Reverb and delay at same time Toggle stick Voice modes The sound- the best part
Big Bad Wolf I agree. I owned and sold a Prologue for space reasons and the lack of modulation and a sequencer. This gives you all that. Sure you still have little in the LFO department but the motion sequencing more than makes up for it. Shame they took the Audio In off this one, though. Also you can actually do 3 effects at once. Reverb, delay, and modulation.
Great demonstration of the sequencer and the filter. The use of the 3 oscillators demonstrated also was very musical. I enjoyed this demo a lot. No talking just demonstrating and showing what the XD sounds like and what it can do. Well done

No reason to sell my minilogue, but getting one more machine like the xd is a good idea. Playing the minilogue right Hand with 4 voices and the xd on the left Hand also 4 voices is enough polyphony for most of all situations. Let's go and buy one!
Why can't they release an electribe like this? With the old style sequencer! That would be a killer item! Imagine this unit with the EMX-1 style sequencer! Diamond combo!
They would basically kill all demand for the Prologue by making this 6 voice. I'm guessing Prologue is gonna get an overhaul in a year or two, I think they realized they stripped it down too much. They need to put the sequencer and more modulation capabilities into the Prologue to justify the $1500 price starting point

Im thinking about buying this with a JupiterXm but maybe theres something that could acompany the Jupiter better, something like a moog sirin? im not sure what to buy, i like the JupiterXm sounds very much but also the XDs sounds. Maybe I should just get both hahah my wallet is gettin drained since i bought my first synth.

If you’re just beginning, I’d pick up a pristine used original Minilogue for now. There will be lots of guys selling them at a discount to upgrade to the XD. Then once you get used to concepts and techniques, THEN upgrade to the XD, it will have come down in price by then...
@@irok81 I'd also go with the Minilogue, either the original or the XD. The Moog Sub37 is an amazing synth, but if it's your only synth, I think a poly is a better choice than a than a mono. Also for learning subtractive synthesis, the Minologues are great.

And the while open architecture of the digital oscillator and effects is an interesting idea albeit one inherited from the prologue
KORG dropped the ball a bit last year and came out the gates swinging this year. Fantastic releases all around and I’m 100% getting all 3.

Hmmm for a true beginner i guess the Sub Phatty. Mono would be easier to understand and play. But for a pro id go with the Sub 37 personally.
