    Three weeks after Rory McIlroy’s remarkable win at the TOUR Championship, the PGA TOUR returns to action in Napa, California, for the 2022 Fortinet Championship. Last year’s winner, Max Homa, will defend his title at Silverado Resort & Spa after an impressive fifth place finish in the 2021-22 FedExCup Standings. In 2021, the Californian carded back-to-back 7-under rounds to finish one shot clear of Maverick McNealy in second place. 2021 Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama will be teeing it up this week after finishing T11 at the TOUR Championship, despite missing the FedEx St. Jude Championship two weeks prior with a neck injury. 2020 Fortinet champion Stewart Cink will be looking to repeat an impressive win that saw him finish 21-under par, breaking the tournament record. A number of Korn Ferry Tour graduates will be making their debuts this week, including Justin Suh, who topped the combined points list for the 2022 season. Other notable names to look out for include five-time TOUR winner Rickie Fowler and 2015 PGA Championship winner Jason Day.

    My heart goes out to Danny, I've been there. I was in a tight round and only needed a bogey to win on a par 3. First shot hit the windmill blade, the second putt hit the dinosaur's foot and the third grazed his tail. The fourth putt, a two-footer, looped around the cup and my red ball finally dropped in six. My wife beat me by one stroke and I took it hard. But, after a few months of therapy and anger management, I was finally able to play Prehistoric Putt-Putt again.

      I’ve been there mate ! My heart goes out to you and your wife no doubt rubbed this one off lame and lone victory in your face . My EX girlfriends family used to have what seemed like the annual crazy golf comp on our horribly boring holidays to the English coastal town of Skegness. I used to prefer her dad to her to be honest until he went over the side rail off the clowns foot on the last hole .I was 2up so i told him to forget it and reload he promptly holed in one and I took 4! He then called me out on the one pint bet we had in the restaurant later. I left their family circle when I was called miserable for wanting to go to Spain on our own the next year !

    I've gotta be honest, I've got subscriptions to watch all PGA tour, but pretty much given up on it, the LIV is so much more entertaining, everything happening at once, even got into the team element last night, well done cam Smith, PGA needs to get off its high horse and stop trying to get the monopoly

    • @4wheelliving132
      @4wheelliving132 ปีที่แล้ว

      I watched both. LIV has some good players but the PGA still has most of them. To me it's just another series to watch.
      I agree that the team element makes things much more interesting. The bad thing about the team element is that guys like Perez are making a fortune just because they're on the right team. Out of 48 guys I think his best finish is about 30th

      @@4wheelliving132 That happens in all sports if you think about it. Lots of nobodys have Super Bowl Rings, NCAA championships, World Series Rings, etc. etc. It's all about getting lucky and being on the right team for a lot of guys. There have also been several Ryder Cup events where the winning team had a player who didn't win a single point. It is what it is I guess.

    • @4wheelliving132
      @4wheelliving132 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Super-Dave2028 I agree, and what I would like to see is all 4 scores count. Why only the 2 best on the first 2 days and 3 on the final day? In other sports you don't count the scores from just half the team. Then you would get a fair team competition and each play would contribute which would eliminate some players getting a free ride

    • @Super-Dave2028
      @Super-Dave2028 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@4wheelliving132 yeah I certainly see your point but I don't think that's the answer either, because then you could end up with 3 players on a team finishing in the top 3 spots in the individual competition but potentially finish last place in the team competition because of just one person who was having a bad week or just a bad day for that matter. Look at what Sihwan Kim did a few weeks ago. He shot an 87 and then followed it up with a 63! It doesn't matter how good the rest of the team plays, you can never recover from having an 87 count. I think that would dilute the team competition too much and would introduce a whole host of other issues. I think the way they have it is probably best way to do it. I mean it obviously motivated Perez to work harder because he contributed quite a bit in this last tournament. They even admitted that they were ribbing him quite a bit. No one wants to be just fluff. It's definitely a motivator and it allows the other players to continue to play hard knowing that one person who is having a very bad day is not going to completely take them out of it. Another possible option would be to throw out each players lowest score of the tournament and have all the remaining scores count. I could also see that being a viable option
