What's going on Tubies and Tubers. I grew up in an era where movies, cartoons, and video games ruled a better part of my childhood...when I was home. I always gravitated more towards movies (especially comedy) at a young age. Over the last few years I have been finding myself tuning into Reaction Channels on a daily basis. The community and the creators make it feel like we are watching movies with friends. With this being said I went in blind to start my channel, and hunt down the movie prey that has eluded me thus far. I am 100% learning as I go with no editing background, or computer background outside of gaming. Because of this, I tend to have editing miscues from time to time and I apologize ahead of time for any missed. Thank you for taking the time to check out my channel and all suggestions are welcome!

I always smile when Madonna appears in the Peekskill jersey. I immediately knew she was from NY. I played traveling team basketball and All-Star baseball against Peekskill many times.

Yes, Charm & Beauty Schools were a BIG thing in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and even 60s. Beauty Schools became places to learn how to work in a beauty salon. I was born in 1961 and many (rich) friends were in Charm School in the 70s. In _many_ circles, mostly really rich and/or in Boarding Schools, Charm Schools are still crucial to their upbringing. When you hear about a Debutante Ball, you can be sure Charm School was a part of their preparation.
Yes, signals are definitely used today, from catchers to pitchers, but they are done on apps so they can't be seen by the opposing team. Technology! (Love me some baseball!)
As someone else suggested, _Field of Dreams_ is magnificent. You, with the kind heart of a family man, will love it.

That’s the first I’ve heard of the beauty schools I believe. I did like the way they poked fun at during the scene. Especially when Dorris was eating all the cookies 😆 thank you so much for watching and sharing some insight 👋🏻

Before we got married, my husband promised me he would learn to partner dance. He was an army officer, and never really had time. So, after he retired, for our 20th anniversary, we took our first lesson. We learned some waltz, foxtrot, but we fell in love with swing dancing, mostly because of the music of the 30s and 40s. We found some groups who were teaching Lindy Hop and Balboa, and we learned a lot from VHS videos we found on this new thing called the internet. We have been dancing, competing and teaching for almost 25 years. You and your wife should give it a try.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Jon Lovitz's character; in over 50 reactions I've watched, less than a handful have paid attention to Lovitz's brief-but-funny performance. Then we get the sympathetic father-daughter (Marla Hooch) support talk.

🤣 thank you . I always try to keep more of the comedic parts in as much as possible and just stick to story and plot points. Either way….Mr Lovitz can steal all the screen time he wants 🤓

More connections. Dottie’s married to the President who’s the Pilot of Eagle 5. Copilot Barf (John Candy) who was the brother of Tom Hanks in “Splash”.
In a movie about coming up comedians Hanks and Sally Fields are friends and competing. She later plays his mother in Forrest Gump. Crazy range.

See I see it the other way I really think she did drop it on purpose. They very beginning talking to her grandson “ Bobbie your brother is littler than you give him a chance to shoot”

@@Madd_u_mad also as amazing of a player Dotti was there is no way she makes the mistake of removing the ball from her glove with her off hand during a play at the plate. IMO she drops the ball on purpose because in the end it didn't mean that much to her, but she could see that it meant everything to Kit.

The guy dancing wirh Madonna was Eddie Mekka. He played Carmine (aka the Big Ragoo) on Laverne and Shirley. He was an excellent Singer and Dancer. One of Baseball Stadium Announcers calling the game was David Lander who played Squiggy on Laverne and Shirley. The Baseball Scout was played by Jon Lovitz (from Saturday Night Live). Many of his insults and funny comments weren't in the script and were adlibs by Lovitz himself. Jimmy Duggan (Tom Hank's character) was based on the Real Manager of the Rockford Peaches former Star Player Jimmy Foxx. Kit (Lori Petty) has a Cult following as the title character in the movie Tank Girl. That Horrible scar on the player's thigh was real and took over a year to heal. The Older women at the Hall of Fame and playing during the closing credits were actual Players from the All American Girl's Baseball League.

I hope your children realize it. i find this movie to be one of the better sports movies. it's my grandparents time and reminds me of stories my grandmother would tell me about women's baseball. as a small child, I'd think what's the big deal? this movie always reminds me what a big deal this was for these women and the time. my grandfather served in ww2 and was away 2- 1/2 years. he missed my mother's birth by 3 days and my mother was almost 3 when he returned.

One of my top five favorite movies. Jon Lovitz was just a gem in this, played an asshole to absolute perfection. Funny, smart, heartwarming, just plain fun. And so quotable! There are a lot of great lines. I always felt Dottie dropped the ball on purpose, if only because they show her falling into the dugout and still managing to hold onto it. But then, I'm an oldest sister, so that's what I'd do. I do, really do, get competitive with my sisters but if there was something they wanted the way Kit wanted it . . . it's hard. And with Dottie having told about how Kit can't lay off the high ones . . . I dunno, I'd just feel mighty guilty. It just felt right for Kit to win. No matter how much everyone wanted to win, Dottie loved one thing more than baseball, and that was Kit.

    1. Tom Hanks can play a disagreeable character after all. He's the GOAT.
    2. Lori Petty/Kit character is a brat, but she could get it. 😍😝😈
    3. Debra Winger was originally going to plat Dottie but backed out when Madonna was cast.
    4. Fun fact: Not even Tom Hanks knew when he was going to be done "peeing." Penny Marshall was in a stall with a hose and a bucket making the noise.
    5. The death notice delivery guy was all levels of wrong. 🤬
    6. Luckiest kid in the world because I'm not there to kill him.
    7. I suspect Dottie dropped the ball on purpose, so Kit could have her time to shine.
    8. Thank you, Penny Marshall,
