Jon, did you not think about putting blocks on the trees to stop them from growing back? come on, Jon. Simple (video game) logic.

From what the clues say it seems like instead you need to prune the branches so they grow further and further and touch the monoliths next to them

I think he suffers from a short attention span or that we have the luxury of observing his mistakes while he is in the act of discovering everything first.

So I got Rome total war and during my first game and When I started the civil war I was so powerful and the most popular with the senate, I (Brutii) was outlawed, the Juli were outlawed, and the Scippi were also outlawed. Now they're all at War with each other? (I think) but even stranger the senate gave me a mission to attack the Juli or else I would be out lawed (again) I have -1 turns to complete it

Its not an eye, its the "Dark planet", the other part of the yingyang. You are bringing it closer with the "giant monoliths" which are called touchstones.

So this is basically an open world testing chamber game.
Some puzzles reward you with new abilities, some teach you to use those abilities, but you can do with this what you please with a measure of sandbox-y freedom that is really refreshing to the genre.

All that random junk on those towers is what happens when you tell several Literary Arts majors to add instructions in the form of confucius sayings. An interesting open world, with very minimal gameplay elements to run things down, seems that unless you are totally enraptured with the vaguest of thoughts, and barest of impetus, you wouldn't really want to play it.

    • @confusingdalek709
      @confusingdalek709 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The towers have doors on them, which Jon forgot how to open after the first 5 minutes.

And on the one time he was truly confused for what to do (The trees) he didn't even think about the messages past half a second.
Granted, the others didn't help, but there was nothing to answer with the other ones. It was very clear that those messages by the tree were related, but the others in empty rooms are just that, messages in empty rooms.

I'll give the vague bad-wisdom advice thingies a try.
*Teaching without words and working without doing is understood by very few*
Symbolism and metaphors, humans senselessly hunting for food, thus growing stronger. Life creates its own meaning.
*That without substance can enter where there is no room*
*Hence I know the value of non-action*
When you let go of guidelines and goals you truly explore into the unknown, pointless thus real discovery.
*Who can wait patiently while the mud settles*
Modern society is all about pragmatic and direct fulfillment of needs, everything needs a reason and an A.S.A.P response.
It's important to be patient, I think that speaks for itself.
*Observers of the way do not seek fulfillment.*
*Only because they do not seek fulfillment can they withstand the passing of time and remain*
Very Buddhist, when you let go of possession and aggression, meaning and ideals, you can be open to the wonderful and meaningful and resistant to the evils and misfortunes of the world, thus being a positive influence on it.
Notice how you restored the Monolith and cut the branches not because of meaning, but because of being.
*These words carry with them a warning our ancestors were too keen on dismissing:*
*Have little and gain, have much and be confused.*
The 2016 U.S. Election... Socialism Vs. Capitalism... The fact people who own all the food traditionally own all the power. When you are impoverished your life revolves around direct means of survival, you're thus more likely to rely on your surroundings, friends and family to cooperate with and thus jointly fulfill everyone's means of surival. When you're rich, your means of survival aren't just guaranteed, they're multiplied and fetishized beyond belief, the means of survival become of so little value that by definition, surival, has little value. Rich people rarely truly connect to their surroundings, save other rich people.
*Crimped you will be whole; Warped you will be true; Hollow to be full; Worn to be anew.*
The Buddha was a spoiled 'bubble boy' prince who was sheltered from the evils of the world by his parents. When he snuck out, he learned of the existence of poverty, disease and death. The act of sitting underneath a tree in the meditation pose, is the act of accepting the world for what it is and loving it unconditionally, doing no harm. Remember non-action?
    >You need to understand what is negative as to understand what is positive<
*A fitting lesson to leave behind in the last place of worship that remains in this dying world.*
1% owns 50% of all money, fish are dying, economies are bubbling, Cold War 2.0 is raging, permanent employment contracts are being turned into pure temporary contracts, the service based economy is running its course, the definition of a labour party is falling apart at the seams, while we allow our politicians to decide whether we want Neoliberalism or Populist Nationalism.
All the while we worship this shiny box that shows us infinity.
Wow that got dark. The guy who made this needed this expression to cope with society's 'ignorance is bliss' mentality in contrast with the depraved state of the world. This message is meant for people seeking the consolation as to deal with the negativity of the past, present and inevitable negative future, to point them towards Zen Buddhism as a way to if at least, guide those willing to be guided, as to do no harm.
Notice how you climbed the tower for no reason, to find nothing, that the advice generally means nothing, that this game has no purpose and that it by itself, teaches very little? Notice how by climbing the tower you allowed us, me to decypher the meaning, notice how you're reading this right now. Read the first quote again. Those who seek will find.
Those who did none of that have an interesting game of Minecraft to play.
