Thinking "Even Flow" was Audioslave hurts my brain so badly
me too! Eddie Vedder's voice is so unique how can Perl Jam be confused for Audioslave
Especially when they were born, raised, and live in Washington

@@agah666 Most metal dudes alive? They don't know maiden or misfits. If you're a "metal head" and stick to two newer genres then you're a poser. Lemme would puke if he read your comment.
EVERY band? Unless it was recorded in the last 10-20 years, odds are they’ve never heard it. A major part of being a serious musician is understanding the history and too many people seem to revel in their ignorance.
But like not nowing iron maiden is a crime
How to feel better about my musical knowledge: Watch Austin talk about anything other than deathcore or metalcore.
okay iron maiden is actually crazy
Kinda sad at the same time...

Aye that really surprised me.
He listens to mostly shit, so go figure
i grew up on them and can’t name a single song😂
The Maiden part made me imagine of a Punk Rock vocalist who doesn't know who the Ramones or Black Flag are.
It is kinda very "punk" to not give a fuck about Ramones or Black Flag. I mean imagine a band just fucking shouting and playing power chords and hating the system - why do they need to know about Ramones

"I LOVE the police" yeah Austin, it's kind of a weird timing to say that😂
@LWKGD never said that the police are bad or anything. I stay away from statements like ACAB and shit like that. But still, when you hear Austin say that, especially if you just hear it out of context it is kinda funny in spite of what is going on in the US right now.
@LWKGD surprised you were able to say that with that boot in your mouth
@LWKGD yeah man, gotta hate those staunch leftists who believe in campaigning for equitable justice under the law and the right to live without being extorted of all of my money. gotta hate how radical it is to want to live.
@LWKGD well this hasn't aged well at all
@LWKGD Um.. the policeman has been convicted of manslaughter on the basis of evidence. He killed that man. I do not care if it was racism or not, police abuse their power like crazy and do not use it well. Especially the fiasco of that time, with the police shooting ppl on their own property with no motive or tripping over old people and letting them bleed out from their cracked skull.. I don't care what media says, police is a fucking mafia and they definitely are too privileged, especially in court.
So, for anyone who isn't immediately familiar with the artists mentioned, here's a list of songs that are, arguably, their most recognisable tunes and that you may have heard already.
The Beach Boys - Surfin' USA (Probably one of the most recognisable surf rock tunes alongside Wipeout by The Surfaris and Misirlou by Dick Dale And His Del-Tones)
The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil (Guns N Roses famously covered this tune a while back)
Pearl Jam - Even Flow (The song that Austin was doing an impression of - Eddie Vedder definitely had a noticeable influence on the vocal styles of Scott Weiland and Scott Stapp)
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain (The extended outro starting with that bass riff is played at, like, every racing event ever)
Grateful Dead - Alabama Getaway (I don't listen to much Grateful Dead either, and this song was in Rock Band 2)
Depeche Mode - I Just Can't Get Enough (The main synth riff is very distinctive, although this song isn't really indicative of their current direction)
The Cure - Fascination Street (Fairly distinctive bass and guitar riffs)
Iron Maiden - The Trooper (It's got just about everything that Iron Maiden does into one tune - duelling guitars, galloping bass, Bruce Dickinson's iconic belted vocals and some fairly frantic drums. Chances are this has been played at various sporting events)
The Police - Every Breath You Take (Often considered a romantic tune, Sting actually wrote the lyrics to be about authoritarian governments spying on their citizens. Has a very distinctive arpeggiated guitar line)
Misfits - Die, Die My Darling (Misfits are definitely a band for which the branding has outgrown the musical recognition, but it did kick-start the career of Glenn Danzig, who went on to form Samhain and Danzig)
Arctic Monkeys - I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor (That was their first big hit. The chorus is highly singable)
Santana - Smooth feat. Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty (Again, arguably Santana's most popular tune - also note; Santana is the name of the band, of which Carlos Santana is the lead singer/guitarist, kinda like Danzig in that respect)
BTS - iDol (I only know this song through the DJ Cummerbund mash-up iDeng, which paired this song with Dig by Mudvayne)
The 1975 - Chocolate (Yeah, I couldn't name you a song off the top of my head either. This one just kinda came up as the first result in a TH-cam search)
Selena Gomez - Slow Down (Another one from a quick TH-cam search. Literally the only thing I knew about her prior to this was that she was, at one point, dating Justin Bieber. I have no idea if they're still together)
Anthrax - Madhouse (Again, highly singable chorus hook of "It's a madhouse!" and some fairly distinctive riffs to boot. Anthrax are definitely one of the bands that helped crossover thrash to become a thing)
Cheap Trick - Surrender (Was recently featured as the credits tune of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2)
Jimmy Eat World - The Middle (Again, been featured in a few things. I first heard it in Rock Band 2, fairly big positive-vibes kinda song with a lot of 3rd-wave emo fans)
It's so funny with The Cure. I couldn't name any of their songs until I started listening to them last year. After listening to a few albums I realized I knew so much of their discography just from how much they've been in movies and TV, I just didn't know I knew them.
If you guys want to check them out, I would recommend Disintegration.
Also for some others I would recommend:
Anthrax - Among The Living
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Pearl Jam - Ten (You've probably heard every song on this album and you don't know it.)
Ohhh thats why I've been rock hard all day. A new Dickey dines got uploaded
I feel like The Cure were very ahead of their time. I think of them as like the "Orgy" of the 80's. I'm sure at some point you have both heard "It's Friday, I'm in love." That's them. I would highly suggest checking their catalog out though. Very good.
The grateful dead doesn't have song titles they Just have one long song that just keeps going

Pearl Jam definitely hurt me the most 😂 I named like 10 songs out loud the second I saw it. Also if you plan on listening to an album per band, go with “Ten” for Pearl Jam. It’s the album with even flow and Jeremy on it
I don’t think there’s a single bad song on Ten. My jaw literally dropped when Pearl Jam was listed.
I like the Banjo and Kanzooie song playing in the background in the beginning
Monkey wrench is Foo fighters not arctic monkeys smh, one of the best screams of all time too gotta know it
Austin’s shirt says it all
honestly at pearl jam I just started screaming "NO, NO" at my laptop and didn't hear anything else in the rest of the video
UPDATE: "cheap trick" "I don't even know what that is" hurt too
UPDATE UPDATE: for me, the biggest band I "know of" without actually knowing a song by is probably Dream Theater, so I guess none of us are perfect
As the most avid dream theater fan I've ever come across that's a lot less awful than the likes of Pearl Jam or Iron Maiden
If you're up for hearing some Dream Theater to expend your horizons, check out the "Scenes From a Memory" album from 1999. It's a very well done concept album with a pretty good story about love, death, and reincarnation. The last track, "Finally Free," is one of my favorite songs of all time.
@@holidayonion Images and Words is a must for getting a picture of what the band's good at as a whole as well
I couldn't name a single Dream Theater song either. I kinda lost my shit when Dickey said he didn't know the Rolling Stones at all. Jesus fucking christ it's like being a musician and not knowing Hendrix, but you're right man, no one is perfect and we all grew up listening to different stuff
Everyone has to listen to Pull Me Under by Dream Theater at least once. And I'm no fan boy of the band, it's just a great song.
I've been humming "Wouldn't It Be Nice"- Beach Boys since the beginning of this video .
The other day I was messaging a friend about music and he asked what music I liked, I told him I enjoyed metalcore, post-hardcore, deathcore, emocore, and stuff like Paramore and Panic! and even some Ariana Grande and stuff. He honestly made me feel like shit because I don't know stuff like Misfits and Fugazi and The Smiths and some other stuff.
Oh right.... The Smiths were a band, I totally forgot it..... I still can't name a song of them

I heard "float on" by modest mouse and googled the guitar player because it's such a perfect example of the British tone in my mind.... and I read he was the same guitar player from the Smith's and I just shrugged to myself because I've got friends that talk about the Smith's and I've never even tried to listen to it
Don't feel bad for not knowing the Smiths, mate. They're shite.
Don't consider him as a friend if he did that shit
