Garth Brooks has used LeDoux’s shoes as a template for his concerts. Check out Chris LeDoux’s son Ned LeDoux. He sounds a lot like his dad. Ned along with Chase Rice recorded this song and sampled parts of Chris’s voice in it. This song is a great example of how the world needs to live. I miss seeing Chris Ledoux at the Stillwater, OK Testical Festival. He did it ever year before he died. His song Copenhagen they had to pull a net up to protect him from all the Copenhagen snuff cans the crowd would throw. Good times

    God Bless Chris Ledoux.
Grew up an Air Force Brat from New Orleans, found his love of rodeo and lived every single one of his songs. Everyone close to him was tolerant of his mediocre singing and guitar playing for years. And he put in the work to improve himself and his music.
Western Underground was, and still is, steadfast and dedicated. Chris’ oldest son Ned is still writing, producing and performing music.

My father was a mild mannered man, a church deacon, and family ma. But my mother always said no one better fool with his horse, his dog, or his hat. We used to tease him because he always wore his hat when he went somewhere even at night. We would tell him he was afraid he would get a moon tan.

Played this song at my dads funeral last summer (2021), both him and Chris are the last of a dying breed. We buried both my parents at the same time.

I've always loved this song because it reminds us that we ALL have stories of pain and loss and that if we only take the time to think about it we can relate to one another.
I also think the guitar helps this song cry and scream and doesn't get appreciated enough.

Another great from Chris Ledoux is Cadillac Cowboy, he has another called Cadillac Ranch which is good also, I was lucky enough to see him live over 10 times and he never disappointed. I had tickets to a show and wasn’t going to be able to go because I had to have a really serious life or death surgery, a family member worked at a radio station that he was visiting that morning and heard my story and sent me a autographed shirt, a big poster, and a stack of CDs all autographed. I still cherish them to this day.

Some people say Chris Ledoux was garth before garth brooks! And yes a legit singer, rider, a singer, and a tough guy! I'm glad we met once on the road over cup of coffee.

GRESAT song! Thank you for the reaction video. I'm a biker who has been known to wear a cowboy hat from tie to time, so I can see both sides. I was stationed in Texas in the 70's, and I remember the conflicts between the cowboys and the hippies!

I miss Chris LeDoux he was a real Southern gentleman and a rodeo rider he was badass and also a singer😊 I appreciate the fact that you took time to listen to this song because it's exactly what he said at the beginning we have so much more in common than we don't and I grew up a biker I know for a fact my Dad loved this man and how he put things plainly and that the fact we have way more in common than we don't is what we don't get because we lost our sense of community along time ago😢

I've never understood why a lot of people think they are tough because they are in a gang. Tough people don't need gangs. I had a similar situation happen to me once. A biker didn't like my cowboy hat. Asked me if I was a sheriff. I smiled and drank my beer. That pissed him off and he wanted to fight so the bar owner made him leave. I went back a few days later after a bad day and he was back in there. Started the same shit and I wasn't in the mood so I told him to step outside. He was in front of me and as we were walking towards the door, he turned and swung at me. I blocked it and laid him out with a right hand. A little ground and pound for good measure and asked if he was done. He said he was so I let him up and bought him a beer. Bastard bled all over my jacket sleeve! I figured it was over but he walked up behind me later and said that if he'd had a knife he could've cut my throat. I told him I had a knife and if he could borrow one from somebody, we could play that game too. He decided that wasn't a good idea. STUPID!

The thing I always loved about this song, that some people don't catch onto, is that he had no intention to fight, but being a great storyteller, he was able to bullshit gus way out of an ass beating. The hat likely had no connection to any of those people😅

Not necessarily I have my own dads cowboy hat and if it fit me I would be wearing it everywhere. A lot of people like to keep things like that. Things that belonged to a lost loved one. Some like my younger sister keep the things at home only others like me. Would be using them if they can like the hat in the song and my dads hat.
