Plasma TV's I find are much superior in terms of colour and sharpness than LCD. Couldn't agree more with you over trying to find a comparable LCD, it is just not possible.
@@cheny414 what do you mean didn't age well? You still cannot get an lcd display that is better than a plasma tv, name a single lcd tv that can get true blacks like plasma... You can't, the only thing that competes with plasma is Oled and mini-led almost matches it
@@default2826 The was nothing about black levels in the original comment. You added it yourself. The original comment mentioned 1) colors, 2) sharpness. Modern LED LCDs are way better at sharpness and colors are at least comparable to plasma screens.
Not even a oled can beat a pioneer plasma. The plasma colour reproduction is just something else. It’s colour fidelity is better too. On all SDR content the best possible picture you will get is on a pioneer krp plasma. At times the oled when compared it’s colours look cartoonish.
I’m running 5 Panasonic plasmas at home. A 65v10a , a 60st30a, a 60st50a, a 60s60a and my newest a 65st60a I bought for $200 aud. I’ve had many a kuro too. I love plasma 🇦🇺👍
Nice, running 4 myself, picked up a VT in 65" from 2013 for a few hundred bucks 3 years ago with 10K hrs on it. Solid build, best colour. Very happy with them.
I want to find me one of these. I love these TVs. They have very good picture, they are clear and they work forever. If I ever find one, I will have it for years.
Bought an 04 50inch pioneer with factory speakers built into the sides of the TV. It's not the most perfect meaning the black is not real dark but the picture is great for 7:20. And the sound is amazing. Pioneer made the top shelf stuff back then. I bought it for 80 bucks off a guy who rarely used it in the basement.
@@Jazz5777 when I wrote this one year ago I didn’t have one, but now I have a 2008 53 inch Panasonic viera plasma. I’ve had it since July 2021 and i couldnt ask for a better tv for my room. I agree I have a two year old 42" viera and would never go back to an LED LCD. I also have a 50" of the same model and talked a few friends into going plasma and they love the plasma over their old lcds.
Plasmas still have the best picture but you have to put up with extra heat and power consumption. I switched to an LED backlit LCD because of the heat my Samsung Plasma put off. It was really a pain during the summer.
damn that ho thin lmao.. idk if i should buy it i see videos on youtube of ppl repairing theirs i hope this used one o found dont give me any problems. its a 42inch but its $150 is that a good price
+TechPimp You're kidding right? It would be 4k curved OLED which is already out from LG. Plasma isn't coming back because consumers got fooled into thinking LED was better but OLED is supposed to be like plasma.

Still loving my 2011 Panasonic 50" 3D Plasma TCP50ST30. It still gives a terrific pic and it does upgrade older dvd's from 2D to 3D beautifully. Was tempted by LG's Oled until I found out they dropped 3D. Very happy to continue on with my Panny.
OLED does not produce true RGB colors. Instead they called it a RGBW with the W being called white. They simply could not deal with the white. The only OLED panels that could produce true RGB was by Sony but they were brutally expensive.
i still have my 2008 panasonic plasma. works perfectly still.
Me too. Mines the 53 inch viera manufactured July 2008
