The trick is to make it look spontaneous. What amazes me is that I hardly ever see him repeat anything. I can’t recommend his biography enough, especially the audiobook read in his voice. His stories are touching and so, so funny. And the love story he had with his late wife brought me to tears, an embarrassing amount of tears, on a plane ride.

Normally I get very annoyed by TH-cam titles (news-based ones, mostly) that don't reflect the nature of the content. In this case, however, I'd happily listen for hours to stories of Martin's special friendship with the president.
The fact that they don’t do politics in the show, I love that so much. He’s right, we get enough of that in everyday tv that we really do need a political free comedic break. And also people can appreciate him and had no biased opinion on whatever his political believes may be.

Martin Short is one of the very few comedians who is/was a lot funnier in his 50s, 60s, 70s, (& 80s? Is he 80?) than he was in his 30s. Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, Joan Rivers, Jonathan Winters & others have been funny when they were older, but Short is a LOT funnier (to me) than he was when he was younger doing Ed Grimley. I wish he'd be Jimmy Glick more often.
