    Since it is already out and not expensive, why not just replace the orifice tube with a new one? Still, a good video for folks that do not know it can be cleaned (in case you can't or don't wish to buy a new one)!

      You're absolutely correct. There are many videos of replacing the old with the new. "That part is still serviceable," I heard this statement a lot in the military. It's a filter you can go either way with it. Except for oil,trans, and fuel.

    I used an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the orifice filter on my Van. Works great!

    Can you just clean orifice tube/replace? I mean not needing to fill system after clean/change?

    • @Pantherforlife
      @Pantherforlife  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you could clean orifice tube. As long as it's still in good condition. And not totally destroyed That's what I did with this one.

      Orifice tubes have multiple purposes in different systems, including air conditioning systems and gas furnaces:
      Air conditioning systems
      Orifice tubes are a simple component in car and other air conditioning systems that separates the high and low pressure sections of the system. They also expand the refrigerant and filter debris from the system. Orifice tubes are made up of three main parts: a metal tube, a plastic tube body, and an inlet and outlet filter. The small diameter of the passage inside the orifice tube is critical for the cooling system, but it also makes the tube susceptible to clogging. If the orifice tube becomes clogged, it can restrict the flow of refrigerant and lubricant, and may need to be replaced.

    just to help all of yall out, one replace the tube its the only thing seperating your low side for high side there cheap but two there is always a square indent in the line were the tube is to stop it from going further look for that .

      I just went today to my dealership and ask them. How much for an orifice tube service. It took a while but finally got the price. For my Lincoln town car 2008 it's $245.00 plus the part (orifice tube) Prices very depending on what state you're in.

      Yes, my A.C. is working fine, and I'm at 234,893 miles. You must vacuum the lines before putting R-134A in.

    Thanks a lot! It looks very easy to do, especially when you have a vacuum pump, a gauge manifold and a can of R134a refrigerant at home. Saves you a lot of money.
