I don't really watch the streams live for a couple reasons, but I watch a lot of content on the main and extras channel. I am 100% on board with you throwing in some sponsors to supplement things. Hope, if you do go that route, that it has a positive impact on the channel.
Seconding this. T90's vids are long too so sponsors wouldn't take up a large proportion of the video. If it goes towards the community and channel, go for it.
I don't mind too much but it is nice to not have to skip it. But only once a month? Sounds like very little income.

Been watching your video on youtube(and now mostly on the extra channel) since the forest nothing years. I can tell you for sure two things :
- I hate youtube adds and do everything in my power to block them.
- I have no issue with the sponsor like the one I see in Spirit In The Law most recent videos. More intrusive/longer adds are only okay with me if they are like the one I see on Oversimplified channel : they take 1 min at most in a 15 to 30 min videos and they're brought up with humor. Also, the man only post every few month, so at the end of the year, i did not watch 15 hours of add ...
Do agree with everyone here. Just make sure it stays with once or twice a month. Sometimes the dark side is tempting...
Can we get a tier list of satisfying sounds? Already know the town bell and dock bell will be F tier for T90
also hate the dead farm sound and miss the Tarkan sound. Siege Ram hit is S tier for me
Age up, trebuchet shots, and siege workshop sounds are s-tier for me

Ships sinking in AOE has always been a good one. I like how you can hear the timbers really groaning. The understated villager death sounds can be pretty funny too.
Sponsors are tricky, there's a scale of egregiousness from Raid Shadow Legends dumped in the middle of the video down to a well thought out ad at the end. Pick what works for you, but it can be detrimental overall.
yes, please no Raid Wallet Legends, but tasteful, serious sponsors, well placed shouldn't be too detrimental, imho
The soundscape of AoE 3 is still the absolute best.
T90 Only to you, I always make sure to like your videos, thank you so much for never asking me to. I would not mind a Plug every once in a while I can always fast forward. Your channel does feel different and its because your not trying to milk your audience money. Pure content! And there is no better content than you talking about relic noises.

9:50 Oh, the diagonal hopping never was "patched." It behaves the same way it always has. You cannot hop over two adjacent wall tiles. But anything else you can hop over: a wall and a House, two Houses, two trees, a wall and a Gate, etc.
12:30 Same thing for building over the diagonal, can't build over two adjacent wall pieces. iirc you could in the original Aoe1 but it was changed in one of the early patches, and then the mechanic carried over to Aoe2.

@@exabyte9162I just tried and wasn't able to do this. Unless there's perhaps a way to glitch the Vil through the corner by getting it close enough (like how units sometimes attack walled Villagers across the corner).

The most satisfying sounds for me are the ones the Camels make. The same audio files were also used (slightly modified) in Doom for when zombies and imps die.
Tiny maps was a great paradigm shift, we know what happens on regular 1v1s, forcing confrontation and due to limited space with no tree walls really is refreshing.
I love the smallest map series! It's so different, intense, action packed and over in a reasonable time so I can watch it during lunch or so. Please keep them coming! Can't wait for smallest Socotra
I love that you don’t have ads. YT obviously adds them in here and there but it’s so nice to not have to stop focus of the game in the middle and get a “this video is sponsored by bla bla bla”. It’s super nice to just chill out to some T90 content and know that I’m not getting sold stuff like everything else.
If you do have to do it, I get it, but hopefully it can be at the end or beginning so it doesn’t interrupt the vid.
Just my two cents.
(And again this is a purely selfish thing - I totally get why you would do it and if it helps you do more of this and make a living, then I understand)
All chill is lost if you get a sponsor in the middle. T90 for me is a great chill content. One of the worst things of our age is getting sold dubious products by people we respect only to lose respect and see them slowly deteriorate. Using patreon or something and keeping genuine is better. I dread a day when T90 is going to sell me balls shaving appliance or tell me to invest into art or to use VPN.
T90, thank you for being the beacon of what internet content should have been. You are the light in the darkness.
if it comes to sponsors, I'd prefer impersonal "ad reads" of the product, rather than sleek sponsor segues and "I've personally been using X" lies
I agree it feels different, and that’s why we love your content. I think a sponsor for big events could be good - I think how Tom Scott does sponsorship is a great example.
In general okay with sponsors so long as the ads aren’t too long or repetitive. Again, if I knew it was just for HiddenCup 4 or TTL, then I wouldn’t mind.

the mini map looks like a pokeball. I love this map! I would like to see more maps in competitive play with very few resources to make the game more difficult.

I dont mind sponsor ad on vids at all. But its great when there is a timer bar or somthing on the screen to know how far into the video i need to skip 😂
I'd say I've been a regular by now and honestly it's been very refreshing to be able to enjoy your content without those sponsor interruptions. That being said, if it helps you keep the content fun and bring more of these minimap short-intense-fun style vids, by all means, do it in all your vids. 😊

I’m sure it has been talked about to death, but I still think the format would be more interesting with less towers and castles. The maps all start feeling “solved”, where whoever gets towers and/or castles up more efficiently almost always wins. Getting to Imp is focused around this too… to get trebs or bombards to take down the castles.
I don’t know the best solution. You could double the stone cost with a mod, but I feel that just delays them from coming down, and the games still play out the same way. Maybe a mod can set their attack to zero, that way castle tech still comes into play?

The cannon galleon was the cherry on top.
The relic sound is good, but that BOM-BUDLU-BOM-BOM of the house always gets me.
Also "Ballista, Elephant, a Knight, a Scout and a dream" cracked me up!
On smaller maps like this, it feels more like a high energy chess game with a ton more pieces.
T90, I never watch the streams, but I watch absolutely everything you put on youtube. I don't care if you squeeze an ad into all your videos henceforth as long as it helps you. The only wish I have is that your casts and the game last forever! I love the game since its first release in 2000 or so.
The monks were a great play for Hippo, and I feel like they really changed the way the game went.
T90, if you added ads into a couple of your videos here and there, I personally wouldn’t mind. If it helps the channel that we love grow and prosper I’d be all for it. If it allows our community to grow so that more and better events can be organised and run, I’m all for it. And honestly, the fact that you asked us since your care about the ‘feel’ of these videos means a lot in my opinion and differentiates you from other channels and creators. Awesome transparency. Was this game uploaded out of order? Because the upper score region is showing three games have been played but I only see 2 previous games of this competition in the T90 videos list.
T90 we want you to succeed and prosper! I don’t think anyone in the audience would be upset by some appropriate sponsorships or ads that helped support you as long as it is in good faith.
This was my favorite one of these tiny map games keep them coming!
I'd have no problem with sponsorships. Could do like they do at Critical Role when it goes to a combat.

The adds can actually be cool if presented in a fun or relatable way, that it, most if the time, if there a casual link to your content or personality (even artificially). It should not last for too long though, unless there's a real personalization of the content.

You know what isn't one of the most satisfying sounds in AoE2? The thump of a Tarkan attacking. It isn't in the game.

That fire glitch I saw not too long ago in one of your new civ videos. You were talking about the worker bonus from one of the new buildings (you had turned the zones on) and it was on one of those buildings there too. I'll be honest, it kinda bothered me you didn't bring it up there either! haha

Man you regularly provide 20 minute to an hour long videos, I think we're all fine with 60 seconds at the start for a sponsor spot if it lets you do bigger and better things like prize money for games and whacky tournaments
Incredible. Snippy fucked up so hard. The initial knights gave him a perfect position for a castle which would have severely damaged hippo and probably won the game soon after that
I think in one of your other small map videos there was also a TC on fire that was 100% health. Maybe a bug?

Most satisfying sound in AoE2 is the Tarkan Thump.
I think if you did an ad, instead of the progress bar you usually see on a video letting you know how much longer the ad is, you should do a vill getting woo woo wooed. When the vill dies, the ad's over. 11
T90Official same map but with 2 almost Indestructible Monks on the shoreline, one for each team with a single cannon galleon in the middle and then the game balanced with starting vills and resources for that to be a fun game.
Hey T90. I have been watching you since 2016. I don't comment much but I had to today. I think you should go ahead with the couple of sponsored videos a month idea. You put a ton of content for us to enjoy each and every month. You should definitely be trying to make this more rewarding to you (and the downside for the viewers is absolutely minimal imo).
You can choose some crazy closed games with novel strats for this. TH-cam only videos in such games will give you a big window during the opening to do a 2-3 minute ad. If you watch the first 5-10 minutes of any game you choose to do this on, you can easily find a slot where you can not focus on the game for a while because nothing out of the ordinary is happening.

I honestly believe including sponsors would be perfectly fair especially on TH-cam. For someone who can’t afford to donate on streams, if watching an 30 sec ad helps support your content please do it. You deserve it!

I'm not saying monks need a nerf, but here is an interesting nerf I just thought about in case they do need to be nerfed: for every upgrade applied to an unit, it resists conversion a little more -- not too much, just a little. You can make change bonuses based on resisting conversion stretch that "little more" to "little more and a little plus" just to preserve the advantage of that bonus too.
Monks aren't the problem, it's pathing not letting my light cav go straight into monks

I only watch TH-cam for context. To me the success of your content comes through the clarity in your cause (make AOE2 great again 😉). This cause defines the way how you do that and the product are your videos/stream etc. In my oppinion it is possible to broaden the offering of content/advertisement as long as it does not interfeer with your devine cause. Meaning how you bring that content to life must serve the cause. This will ensure that what you do will keep your viewers on your side and enjoying your content. Hope this helps you with your decision ✌️

Hi T90, yes, sponsorship is okay once in awhile, especially when they pay you well! Bosh n Roll does that too and I think it’s very reasonable. Go for it!

I would say go ahead and do the ads so you have money for a Standard Victory tournament, except I'm not sure if the Armenians' relic creation bonus would mess that up.

I think that any kind of advertising that would interfere with me falling asleep to community games would be a net negative for me. If the sponsored content would be kept in its own format, that would probably be cool. That way we know what we're getting when we click.
