    Relics generate gold because of pilgrims (essentially religious tourists) that come to see it. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine those pilgrims picking up a bow to defend the church when it’s under attack by ruffians.

    I think Georgians are going to have a shockingly high win rate in low-mid ELO games. Defensive, difficult to raid, access to most every counter unit, crazy good eco with less micromanagement, and one of the best spammable deathballs in the game.
    I can see high level games being decided before Georgians get their snowball rolling, and there are probably still better arena civs...but Georgians are going to pub stomp.

    • @Sunlight91
      @Sunlight91 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      I think the fortified church is too OP. It protects a villager outpost better than a tower, costs no wood and gives a great eco bonus.

  • @Momomomsen
    @Momomomsen 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    having a free mule is somewhat of an eco bonus, because it essentially means +100 wood for them, as they don't have to build a camp for wood in dark age, which you can use for going heavy on food on the start of dark age and during the end of dark age you add some wood vills. The drawback ofc is the -50 food, which means you have to utilise force drop, but once you are able to use it, it's defenitely a pretty nice bonus for dark age.

      I get that we have a bunch but we have split the Slavs and we have split up a few others like Indians so I think it's fair to expand the game especially as you have things like the Holy Roman Empire which could be split up as well.
      There might be a point where bloat becomes too much but honestly it's not like there is anything too radical being proposed, also where where most of technological and scientific changes coming from, Europe, the middle East and East Asia places like Australia and Africa really don't have much of a place if we are being fair.

    Think it is worth noting that even though the regen seems rather slow. It is a lot of health throughout a game. Just thinking about the total extra health you gain over time with 30+ military units. With 30 units it is 7,5 health regen per second (assuming they all lost something ofcause with 15 regen). Which is quite a lot. Think the collective effect is more important than looking on individual units.

      Watching pro games I've often noticed they overlook the power of healing. The few I've seen who pull back 10-20 wounded cav to heal and rejoin a new squad, as opposed to being tossed away for no real advantage, rebound their deathball quicker and cheaper, and it shows.
      Healing is definitely underrated. This being done automatically allows someone to make it almost brainless.

    Their unique unit being stronger than a knight 1v1 and stronger than paladins in large fight, while being much cheaper, is kind of nuts. They murder Boyars and Konniks while costing MUCH less gold, and they stomp Keshiks even if they almost cost the same. You don't need a relic minigame, you don't need many castles to mass them. Hmmm...
    There are ALL options in the barracks, they have ALL upgrades in the blacksmith,
    they have an extra bonus when fighting from up hill and also they have a sick economy
    to back it all up.
    I'll give it a B+.

    You said the Georgian Hill bonus wants the centre of the castle to be on the hill, but I thought that elevation was calculated from the corner?

    Really wish this expansion had come with a new architecture set for Georgians and Armenians
    Also that the Persians got moved to the same architecture set as Tatars and Cumans

      Is tatar architecture more apt for Persians? I thought they were the one that influenced arabic architechture (like Greece for Rome).

    I assume the 10% working rate bonus of the Fortified Church cannot be boosted by building more fortified churches, right? If I build 3 Fort. Churches around a mining camp, villagers will bennefit of only 10%, not 30% bonus. Right?

    Curious how the Georgian hill bonus compares to the Tatar's. Are there situations where the defensive bonus is more important than the offensive ones (besides the obvious "times you aren't able to retaliate")?

    • @SIGNOR-G
      @SIGNOR-G 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the defensive bonus may even be more important when its a big fight. Your units survive with more health. This added with the regenerating health could maje a world of difference.

      The georgian bonus will be super good for castle drops. Castles do high damage anyway but being more tanky will make them even more devestating if you can put them on a hill. I don't see it being much different in unit fights. Tatars kill units more quickly while Georgians will stay alive with more hp. Same but different.

    Awesome SOTL! The Civs Overview Videos are my favorite, awesome series! I hope, you will soon update the older once especially (new) Persians and the newer Civs.
    I support your assumption that nerfs for the civ are ahead. It feels like they got a lot of things going for them: above average Eco, Monks, Cav, Infrantry and Siege (only missing BBC)😅. It feels like they have for everything at least 2 great counter option. Feels like they have going something at every point in the game: stats will probably proof it.
    Therefore, I hope they will nerf them as follows:
    Infantry: take away 3 of the 5 options:
    1) Campions
    2) 2-handed swordsman
    3) Helbardier
    4) (last infantry armor)
    5) (second infantry armor
    For Siege, they should either lose SO or SR.
    For Monks, one of your top 5 rated Monk tech should be removed.
    Maybe, they could lose Hussar as a nerf but make the light cav stronger with the same affect of more attack like UU.
    What do you and the community think?

    No pinned comment but the changes thus far to the best of my knowledge is:
    1. No food penalty for mule cart
    2. Monaspa slightly adjusted to have higher cost longer creation and the thresholds are different now for their bonus
    3. Healing changed to straight 15% starting in feudal
    If theres comments correcting/adding any of this ill edit to reflect the current best knowledge

    So monasteries are basically wood-only towers that generate monks. Monastery Rush is going to be a real strat. Svan Towers only helps.

    Seems a bit OP. The Cart in itself can save you around 1500 resources from refreshing lumber camps in a 30minutish game. Imagine having 500 extra each of food wood and gold in a 30 min game

    As a beginner, I have the feeling that georgians are a bit overpowered. Is it because I'm a beginner and don't know how things work ? Should I buy that DLC anyway ?
