We have to play this song as one of three solos in my concert band. I'm super nervous, because I haven't even begun to master 4 mallet technique, but I'm really glad that you have a good example for me to follow. Love the emotion you put into your music! :D
Nice! I have been practicing this song for about two weeks. And now I realised what it is really like. Have to keep practicing so maybe on day I could play it almost like that.
I have to learn this piece for an audition and i’ve never used both hands while playing marimba 😅😅😅 Audition is is about a month or so, wish me luck!!!
@Kaizaii I'm going to play this on my exam on the 28st of May and I hope I can play it as good as you, but then a bit slower :) Great song btw!! love it!!
A job EXTREMELY well done on your piece, Mr. Stensgaard, especially on the improvisation. By the way I'm currently learning this piece and I am loving it. Do you mind sharing your mallet choice?
I love your mallets and the tone you get out of the instrument. You seem to play into the bar, but get a great rebound. You also have fun. How do you maintain such consistency in tempo and contrast in dynamics when you're having fun like that?
what's the range of this song? like what's the lowest note play and the highest note played? just wondering because my school doesn't own a marimba. only glockenspiel, vibes, and xylo.
Obviously, some of this has been edited and the audio has been replaced with another recording, mainly the improv section. I'm not saying he didn't play it. This guy is a great musician.
I have to learn this in 13 days. Pray for me so I have the motivation to practice.
Im in the same boat lmao
Literally the same
I have an audition
Me tooooooo

That room sounds amazing! It's crazy how much resonance you can get when you DON'T put carpet down.

Turner N thanks! Well 56.000 is a lot, but during the last years video is more often seen on Facebook 😊
You would have to arrange some parts of it - but possible yes.
Yes do it with a spanish flaminco feeling
I have 0 experience on mallets but I want to learn this piece. Someday, I might have to give it a try!
How’d it go?

You can do it! It is not so difficult when you first get started:-)
Best wishes Kai Stensgaard
Hi
You will need a low A marimba. You can play some parts an octave higher, so it is possible to play in on a vibraphone as well.

@Kaizaii Hi.
Would it be possible to play this on a 32 bar glockenspiel? The lowest bar is an F, and the highest is a C. Thanks, in advance. Bye.
Is there anywhere I can find a transcription of the improv section Mr. Stensgaard?
Hi Deandrae, In this edition of Spanish Dance you have the improvisation written (almost) www.shop.kaistensgaard.com/product/spanish-dance-2/
