    I love the Redwood Empire lineup. And their bottle art is so excellent. Wasn't mentioned, but Redwood Empire is sort of like Newman's Own. The owner of a huge California Winery owns Redwood Empire and then donates all the proceeds from the their whiskey to save the redwoods. Good whiskey and a great cause!

      Where are you reading this? They only state that they partnered with organizations to commit to "planting a tree for every bottle sold" I haven't seen or heard anywhere else that they donate all proceeds.

    Discovered Redwood Empire about 6months ago from another bourbon channel, and Lost Monarch instantly became my daily drinker…..just LOVE it. Was lucky enough to pick up a bottle of their Emerald Giant Rye Cask Strength….its my favorite bottle I have! Never had anything I didn’t love from these guys.

      Lost Monarch is currently my favorite sipper. I killed the first bottle in under a week and went back to the store to buy 2 more. I love it.

    The names of the Redwood Empire releases are names of Redwood trees. The coordinates of the tree are listed on the label. I like their products especially at the price.

    Hey guys, I just want to say you guys are great. You’re the only whisky tubers I still watch. I found watching other channels gave me FOMO and I would run to stores and spend too much money. I have toned it way back! Now I just sip and enjoy the content without feeling like I have to rush to get anything. Keep up the awesome content.

    • @ravenmoon1165
      @ravenmoon1165 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your reply really spoke to me. I suffer from FOMO, but I just try to put them in the back of my mind so if I can get a shot here, then I can taste what it is. I really wish we had bourbon tasting here in North Florida that I could go to but either I’m stuck in a cave somewhere or I have no idea what’s going on or if they don’t have it. I pretty much stick to E H Taylor single barrel and eagle rare. I will never probably buy Another bottle of E H Taylor because once you get to those prices like to $300 I am out but I can get eagle route for 50 bucks.
      I would like to try a product that has a chocolate flavor. I’ve just never had that in a bourbon so anyone who knows one that really honestly has a chocolate flavor. Please let me know. Thank you.

    Redwood Empire is my favorite distillery, hands down. From their core line-up to the special releases, they are great whiskies at great pricing that I can pretty much find everywhere (though I am in California and not too far from the distillery, so that may have something to do with it). The BiB Rocket Top Rye and BiB Grizzly Beast are slightly different recipes from year to year, and the most recent has a 5-grain mashbill! I also got my hands on one of the Haystack Needle bottles - a 14-year bourbon finished in Calvados (apple brandy) casks, and it is out of this world!

    Love me some Redwood Empire. In my part of CA their standard releases go for $32.99. Great story, informative and appealing labels, and whiskey that is just always darn good, and punches way above the price point. Lost Monarch is one of my favorite every day sippers - so tasty and well balanced.

    Emerald Giant is one of my top go-to ryes, always keeping some on hand, holds up well to Michters SB Straight Rye. Pipe Dream is a good and competes well with KC 9. Lost Monarch is fine at $35, but JD Triple Mash slightly better. I would love to try the cask strength Redwoods.

  • @Defx10
    @Defx10 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Lost Monarch is one of my every day sippers. Very similar flavor profile to Pipe Dream, love them both, but Lost Monarch has a little bit more body and is a little bit smoother. Either way, I'm a big fan of Redwood Empire and you'll always find a few bottles on my shelf.

    I haven't tried any of the core line-up yet, but I picked up the bottled in bond rye and bourbon a while back. I love both of them. Last weekend, I found Foggy Burl in a local store. Though I like all kinds of whisky, single malt is my favorite category, so I was happy to find it. It is very aromatic and heavy on the malt. I haven't had anything else quite like it. This style works very well for me, but it might not be for everybody. The bottled in bond series and Foggy Burl are their own distillate. I know some of the others are sourced. Maybe the next time I need an inexpensive general purpose bourbon or rye that is great for mixing or sipping neat, I'll pick up one of the core products. It will be interesting to see how their sourced whisky compares to the ones that are made entirely from their own distillate.

      If you like Foggy Burl, finish it an don’t rinse the glass. Then proceed to pour a little Glenmorangie Forest in. It evokes and evolves the nose and palate so much. It was a happy accident. Grabbed the wrong glass and hot damn was the best thing ever

    I apparently had the same experience as Trenton with my first bottle of RE. I purchased an Emerald Giant when they first became available in FL. Paid a lot more than $ 35.00. It was one of several bottles I picked up for a family gathering. The consensus was to use it to clean the floor ( tasted like what we believed Pinesol would taste like, harsh chemical notes ). No one would drink it or take it home, went down the sink. I will give them a second chance now based on this review. Thank you guys, as always

    Might want to check those mash bills… I believe pipe dream is a 4 grain, the emerald giant is a 3 grain rye (small percentage of wheat). The BIB bourbon and rye are their “juice.” Haven’t had any of the special releases yet, but I am looking forward to the Devil’s tower.

    Out of these I go Emerald giant then pipe dream and last place and not sure I’ll ever buy another is lost monarch. Still trying to find their bib. The limited versions are something I most likely won’t ever find. Unless I order directly from RW. And they have some of the best labels in the whiskey world. Enjoy!!

    Redwood empire has some good stuff. That pipe dream cask strength is the business. That wheater looks interesting

    Only knock on RE is their bottles. They are slightly taller than most and get relegated to the top shelf. Marketing strategy?

    Cask Strength Emerald Giant is just fantastic. I've gotta find that Pipe Dream cask strength too.

    Pipe Dream has become my favorite, and go to, bottle. It’s delicious,complex, and affordable. Unfortunately finding the cask strength stuff has been impossible here in S.Florida and I’ve been reluctant to order it from somewhere online (mainly because it ends up being $100+) but ufff I want to try those (CS Pipe Dream and Lost Monarch) so badly

    I'm a big pipe dream fan. I also wasn't that big of a fan of the bourye. I seem there on sale for $32 often and local grocery storea and I never pass that price up.

    Looks like something changed about emerald giant since your bottle: the mash bill on their site is 92R/5MB/3W.

    Lost Monarch is my daily. Unfortunately, they retail for $50 in my state. When I take a trip out of state, I'll always pick up all 3 of their core bottles for $35 each. Still Austin straight bourbon would also be my daily but I have to go even further to get a bottle.
