      Just asking, but did you pull all of these audio samples off of Splice for this video? I'm asking because the track you have assembled sounds really REALLY good and that's kinda rare if they were just random Splice samples. I'd actually be interested to hear you produce the track out to completion. Like, can you produce a finished track assembled from Splice samples?

    Still going through all of your videos. So incredibly interesting to me! From a music theory perspective, I'm learning why I loved 90's dance music at the time & later on, some trance and house and not other trance and house. & what the differences are between pop music/EDM in the 90's & 00's vs. now.

    I really love the fresh air plug-in effect, I'll buy it. I recently learned from the Disclosure guys the whisper trick that many singers use, that is to record the vocal whispering and put it under the sung vocal. The result seems similar to the fresh air plug-in effect.
    The vocal was mediocre before the processing, the difference afterwards is huge! 🖤

    • @Zsanett81
      @Zsanett81 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Christopher Bradley Yeah, it works! I tried it! Mariah Carey uses this technique a lot! I tried fresh air too yesterday, it's not the same result like the whisper trick, but I love it!!! It also improved some lead sounds in the track, and some drum elements. And it's free! Incredible! I'm super happy!

    To gain stage you need to adjust the source material (wav file) so it's about -12db to -16db. Ideally record around those levels. This allows the signal to hit your plugins at a good level. The CLA plugin is nice, I like to use a FET compressor on vocals first followed last in the chain with an Opto compressor.

    • @prodbynate1

      Unfortunately when it comes to vocals. Most stock plug ins don’t do the job that well. And as for VSTs like soothe you don’t see any stock plug ins that even do what soothe does. It’s an expensive game but if you know where to look it can become a lot cheaper 😉

    Alright, hit the play button on your imagination for a sec! 🎧 Imagine mixing a delicious cake but forgetting the sugar... that's what happens when you gloss over the singer's emotions. Picture Aerosmith's "Cryin" track - mix it the way you suggest, and it’s like serving a cake without that sweet, sweet sugar. It might work for an electronic jellybean or two, but for a rich rock chocolate fudge? Not so much. 🎸🍰
    So, here's a wild thought: how about a video where you sprinkle some love on those rock vocals? I’d be all eyes and ears for that!
    By the way, big fan over here! Been binge-watching your vids like they're episodes of my favorite comedy show. 😂❤

    wow I really liked that video! That is what I am most interested in how to get mixes to sound more Pro....richer sounding..analog ..and not sterile. I am interested in the going beyond the Ableton effects to the best sounding plugins that will give a really pro large console sound. Thanks for all your good work.

    I would make the suggestion to demonstrate the fixings in the vocal (e.g., de-esser, autotune, etc.) by the use of built-in plugins and not external plugins not available to anyone. Anyway, helpful video!

    Great video, perhaps do another without Waves plugins? I along with many others have stopped using them due to their garbage subscription and upgrade policy.

      Thanks for getting back with me! I’m try to decide between Logic Pro or Ableton. I primarily do hip hop music, don’t mean to take up to much of your time. Most of my experience is with cake walk, do you have any recommendations?

    Great vocal chain for female vocals. My vocal chains overlap with some of yours. Which really sounded awesome was the CLA plugin. Do you know any cheaper alternatives for this one? Cheers & THX

    Great job, my brother. Thabk you!!
    How do you mix the mp3/wave beat to the lyrics without having the session for the beat? Also, how do you mix a beat to the lyric simultaneously?
