The blank space in CRED IV signifies “BE.” Originally, the redstone CPU I initially created was based on BE, and it had names like NX RED V. So, the blank space corresponds to BE, and J stands for JE, creating a similar pattern.
In CRED IV, we redesigned the ALU and modified the ROM decoder to adhere to BE specifications while also achieving compactness. By shrinking the ROM decoder and optimizing the placement of registers and I/O ports, we reduced the height from 32 (CREDJIII) to 30. Additionally, reevaluating the arrangement between the ALU and registers allowed us to fill the gap that existed in CREDJIII and reduce the depth from 27 to 26. As a result, CRED IV (Version 1) achieved dimensions of 9×26×30.
However, the version I’m introducing now is CRED IV (Version 2). In this version, we achieved a vertical reduction of one block by replacing registers based on advice from the treasure chest. As a trade-off, the space originally reserved for “CRED IV” at the top disappeared. Instead, we abbreviated “CRED IV” to “C IV” and placed it on top of the ALU. This allowed us to achieve dimensions of 9×26×29!
However, there is still room for evolution… Someday, I’d like to create a video showcasing these advancements.
