I remembered he said he started with 3000 baht which is around 84.10 us dollars with todays rate of 35.67 baht to 1 dollar. He ended that winning streak and flipped 3000 to approx.600,000 baht. He was 13 at the time and his parent didn't know about it so he had borrow his bankroll from around 10 of his friends. Its a crazy story. He just did an interview with a youtuber in Thailand. What a story behind this his talent. He said if he lost that 3000 baht he borrowed from his friends, there wouldn't be Jame Wattana today coz he would have gone back to school, also snooker wasn't as popular and no one thought it could become a career path. Crazy, unbelievable story of how he rose to the third ranking of the world.
I remember seeing this guy playing back around 1990/91 on eurosports and for a while maybe a few years he was able to compete with the top players but i suspect snooker really tires anyone brain after a while since there are matches that can take days and that must be very stressing for sure. I had no idea he still played into the mid 90´s since i lost access to Eurosports like 1 year later and then i also moved to another city because of University and had no TV. He was famous not just because of his skills but also because he was probably the only non westerner around and also only Asian. There should be more good players coming out of Thailand since billiards are quite popular. I don´t follow the sport but i know china has some pretty good player but it is still pretty much a British game
One of the ones worth a movie making, his 147 live televised if memory serves me wright was amazing and against one the greats too! Only to be told his Father passed away after he completed the match!
He was Chris, at his best, he was one of the finest players in the world. I used to go in the club in Bradford he used to play in back in the 90's. He was phenomenal in practice, hardly ever missed. Probably should have won more tournaments than he did with his talent..

People always say Willie Thorne talked too much, I totally disagree Willie was a professional and what better way for a person whose watching on TV to know what is going on from a professional prespective.
@Montgomery15 Snooker Videos - I agree with you to a certain extent pal. Willie does love Selby and all things Leicester. He did play the game at the highest level for many years though and made many maximum's. Don't be too hard on him, he's had some difficult personal problems and he's not been in the best of health these last couple of years..
I was there , it seems like a few years ago.God it was 28 years ago I still remember it clearly. I went back to Bangkok to visit my family. I’m living in Australia for the past 50 odd years. 😂😂😂
