Anyone who hasnt played handbells before needs to try it sometime. It truely is a blast. I've been playing for just over four years now, and I dont every want to quit!
To 'TheNameIsAxxeline" - Yes! Animation! Too many times we ringers get stuck staring and frowning at the printed page and forget we are performers. This one was nothing short of superb!
wow!!!! they took what was probably a very challenging song and had a lot fun with it. i was impressed they were able to look away from their music and yet stay on the beat together. it shows they know the music very well. just.. wow! it was really good!
I just went to she this group Bells Of the Sound in concert at my church and i am in a bell choir at my church. we had so much fun talking to them after the show.
This is the Bells of the Sound newest encore piece. it has something about Cowboys in the title. they are really fun. i heard them play on May 2, 2009 at my church First United Methodist of Tacoma Washington
That is as cool as hell. Talk about big balls...er...bells! I played bells, xylo, glockenspiel in HS band...LOVE handbells. They look like they were having MUCH fun. It's also the Areo, the Acrobat game theme on the old sega 32 bit game system back in the day...
We had a bell choir in my elementary public school in Seattle. I always wished I wasn't so lazy because I wanted to be in it. You had to get to school two hours early to practice. Instead I was only in the regular choir which had practice an hour before school started but I could have been in both choirs. Oh well they often performed at the same events as us so I got to listen. At the end of Scrooge the musical film with Albert Finney they have a really awesome bell performance.
SerafinaStarstrider So what's stopping you from joining a handbell ensemble now? I just did about 3 months ago, and it is simply wonderful - I am expanding my musicianship by playing with others, and I'm only responsible for 3 notes! Most community handbell choirs are always looking for ringers, and I'm in a very supportive group - do yourself a favor, and check it out! Aloha from Honolulu!
Wow! Talk about getting into the music! That was great, they looked like they were really enjoying it! I like the guy at 2:55...cracks me up every time!
I WISH we had "goofballs" like y'all in our group! It's all I can do to convince them to try to smile once in a while. You all have seriously raised the bar on the art of bell playing. We want more videos from you! :-)
WOW This Was AMAZING !!! I Wanna Be This Good When Im Older ! Hopefully Highschool Has Handbells :) I've Been Taking Handbells For 3 Yrs :D And Im Lovin It
I really want the full second and first octave! Now I don't know, but it seems that the aluminum bells are only the second octave. Still, I'm taking this to my director. This is outstanding! lol
What kind of bells are those? They're definitely not White Chapels, I know that. Are they Mallmark? Shulmerich? I've played all three types and I've played the big bells down to a G3, I believe, and I don't recall seeing any bells that large. Also the tone sounds slightly different (weird) to what I'm used to playing, especially the high bells sound different. I usually play a 4-in-hand with G6-C7 plus accidentals.
Daryl Stephens Well, you can definetly get brass going all the way down to C2 - that's what my bell choir has, and we primarily use Schulmerich (we have some Malmarks, but only for when we need to double a bell).
C'mon, people. Don't be so hard on "lovebrenda." It's easy for people to get some songs, and classical/semi-classical pieces mixed-up. In fact, I just discovered that I got two of Sousa's marches mixed-up. I found that the march that I thought was The Thunderer, isn't The Thunderer, at all! Now, I'm still trying to figure out the name of the one I've been playing. And, I've been playing these marches for several decades. Meh...I'll just chalk it up to a brain fart.
OK - it's probably not kosher to comment on a video you are in, but dang! We are a bunch of goofballs! Imagine what we could do if we ever break out of our shells...
I don't get it. Was there actually supposed to be a melody? It looked almost like adlibbed stuff and random. However, it was fun to watch them having fun!
@DylanTheDespot I never did understand why someone would try to write "humming" out on this. All we see are words. With no sounds, or rhythm, it's a lot of nonsense words.

Happy❤Happy😊Happy🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The Aluminum Bass Bells have a nice Hum to them.
VERY cool! And my hat is off to whomever figured out the notations and arrangement!
To 'TheNameIsAxxeline" - Yes! Animation! Too many times we ringers get stuck staring and frowning at the printed page and forget we are performers. This one was nothing short of superb!
The name of the piece is Sabre Dance for those who are interested in the name..
wow!!!! they took what was probably a very challenging song and had a lot fun with it. i was impressed they were able to look away from their music and yet stay on the beat together. it shows they know the music very well. just.. wow! it was really good!

Csodálatos felvételek, köszönöm.
I have played in two five-octave bell choirs. This is a good example of why it's nice to have a couple of husky ken to play the bigger bells.
i love handbell choirs and miss being in one! this was outstanding I have never seen anything like this. I had to watch twice! talented and funny!
Too cute and funny! Love it!
oh my goodness.
i absolutely love handbells and this is an amazing performance! and having so much fun too!
i would love to see these guys do Carol of the Bells, they are AWESOME!
This is the Bells of the Sound newest encore piece. it has something about Cowboys in the title. they are really fun. i heard them play on May 2, 2009 at my church First United Methodist of Tacoma Washington
This is the elite group of Bells of the Sound out of Seattle, Washington. You can find more about them at bells of the sound dot org

What fun this must have been in person!
That was awesome! Congrats to everyone involved!
Amazing.

lol that was sooooo awesome!!!! at band camp, i was in the handbell choir and we goofed around, but not THIS much! that was awesome - you guys rock!
That was absolutely wonderful!!! Such fun!
That looks so fun!
The piece being performed is by Aram Khachaturian and the title of the piece is Sabre Dance
Wow!
sabre dance!!! i love this song!!!
You are just too wonderful
I WISH we had "goofballs" like y'all in our group! It's all I can do to convince them to try to smile once in a while. You all have seriously raised the bar on the art of bell playing. We want more videos from you! :-)
That was outta sight! Excellent...I expected to see someone spinning plates on tall poles in time to the music!
Playing bells in a church group is amazing and stres relieving
WOW This Was AMAZING !!! I Wanna Be This Good When Im Older ! Hopefully Highschool Has Handbells :) I've Been Taking Handbells For 3 Yrs :D And Im Lovin It
great music! great animation! well done!!
that looks like fun
this was uploaded on my birthday!
Bravo to one and all. Every bit the equal to the famous Raleigh Ringers!
well done! Thank you...
LOVE THIS! its great, i might actually join a bell choir here soon, probably will not sound anything like this though.
I went to mesa grande for bell choir festival this year and there was 11 other schools. With like 30 people.
It's nice to see and hear how happy people are with the music of the Soviet composer Khachaturian.
@createsjg actually on my screen there is one by the raleigh ringers
Sound like "Breakfast Machine" by Danny Elfman. It's from Pee Wee's Big Adventure :)
and 10 years later they finally start.
I think I saw some white handles on some of the bells, which makes me think they are Malmark.
@DylanTheDespot hahaha i completely understood the difference between badalaladladlaaladada and badaldadladadada hahahaha :)
I play in the Whetstone High School handbell choir
Are those oil drums? I've never seen those before and I'm no stranger to musical instruments! PDQ Bach, Blue Man Group, etc.
I wish they had set up a tripod and got the whole thing so that we could see it. A wonderful performance.
I really want the full second and first octave! Now I don't know, but it seems that the aluminum bells are only the second octave. Still, I'm taking this to my director. This is outstanding! lol
This is the Sabre Dance by Katchaturian.
My sister and I laughed at this hysterically at a haunted hotel at 3 in the morning. (In a good way.)
You win! Don't have a prize! But you win for best comment! Too bad I can't send you one of those BIG bells. HA!
wow
3.40 minutes a lot of fun and a life time......who knows
Were u guys performing Sabre dance

this is the best version of The Flight of the Bumblebee that I have ever heard! Great job!
The Raleigh Ringers use the aluminum. Actually, I think below a certain pitch that's the only way you can buy them.
Daryl Stephens Well, you can definetly get brass going all the way down to C2 - that's what my bell choir has, and we primarily use Schulmerich (we have some Malmarks, but only for when we need to double a bell).
Jack Logansmith I think you mean bronze, brass should never be used for handbells as it sounds terrible.
omgz!
1:12 HOLY giant bells what are those? like c to g 1s??
Shouldn't there be a guy spinning plates on tall sticks to accompany this?
this bell choir are playinng the sabre dance
Nuts
Some sort of weird animation? Either that or the start of the zombie revolution [SHUDDER]😱
Its 'Sabre Dance' sort of.

my choir only has down to F3 lols
i bet with practice the lindsey bell choir at my church could do this
i wanna join this group ._.
OK - it's probably not kosher to comment on a video you are in, but dang! We are a bunch of goofballs! Imagine what we could do if we ever break out of our shells...
@lovebrenda75 not flight of bumble bee
@chrissyjoy08
Whitechapel, not White Chapel....
what piece is this?
@DylanTheDespot 'The Circus Song', 'The Flight of the Bumble Bee'? Melody recognition FAIL.
I have been in a church choir for 6 years, this is what we probably sound like😐
the Biggest silver one for JUST ONE of cost FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
The biggest ones are made of aluminum, so they actually weigh less than some of the slightly smaller brass ones.
Lol
I don't get it. Was there actually supposed to be a melody? It looked almost like adlibbed stuff and random. However, it was fun to watch them having fun!
The Wesley bell choir slays these guys!!!! those big bells are pretty much cheating and they sound horrible!!!!
almost makes me wish i wasn't in a bell choir that is made up of 9 old women and only 2 of them can read music.
oh wait...
but they being very stupid they are doing it because they know the crowd will laugh at them and there conductor will give up
eh? -.^
Obviously you have absolutely NO sense of humor and NO sense of music.
Bravo to this bell choir!
....
lame
