Nice review! please which cabels are you using to connect this monitor to macbook. I have a problem, that with DP to mDP cabel is not working refresh rate like it should. Only on low resolution.

Looks like a great monitor. I think I might need two of them as I am a video content creator.
It's a great monitor the 2700U. I have been using mine since 2019. Unfortunately the corners of the screen went bad on mine early this year. It was still usable but slightly ugly. The good news is that Benq are replacing it. They couldn't repair as I believe the fault was the panel itself. I look forward to getting it back. So I can have my 4k resolution back :-)

Anyone with this monitor experience any temporary burn-ins? When I have a static image for more than 10 minutes, it burns in and then disappears after 2 minutes. The burn-in is visible when you switched to a slightly dark gray background. I still think it's a great monitor. Very bright and produce great colors and saturation.

Is there about a 1/4" of a gap between the edge of the image displayed and the physical edge of the monitor? I can't tell if mine is being displayed improperly or if it's an Overscan issue 😭

1:42 I think he made a mistake and this PD2700U only has mini display port, not Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt model is the Benq PD2720U. However the iMac does have display port out (via its Thunderbolt port) so should work.

PD2700U vs PD2720U vs PD2725U Any advices which ine to buy. PD2725U does havbe thundertbold but paying 500 EUR more for only that is not worth. I work with adobe premiere and PS mainly.

Thank you! The monitor has a headphone jack out which can also be used as a speaker out so you can connect speakers to the monitor. It does have built in speakers too which I forgot to mention. The blacks are great in dark scenes. A little ips glow but no bleeding.

Use the HDMI cable to free up your other ports. This monitor will still read deep blacks in HDMI and you will still get the full resolution.

Hey, great video. I just have one question. I use this monitor for a few months now and I'm a bit disappointed with its luminance. As a second monitor I use a xl2411p from BenQ. It has also 350 nits but is way brighter. I tried all the modes while is think animation is the brightest. But it's still darker.. What can I do? Any tips?
I'm in the same boat with this set up next to my gaming monitor. I thought I could use the BenQ not only for my designing and editing, but take advantage of 4k for movies too. Unfortunately I've found the monitor far too dim.

Get a usb c to displayport 1.4 adapter. I bought one on amazon for 17 bucks and it works with audio and data. Make sure it is a 1.4 displayport adapter
if you guys read the comments, apparently there are many faulty units of this monitor with extensive flickering which can be repaired only by Benq technician. so just to let you know. I will keep on searching ;/

why on their website does it say PPI is 109? should be 163 or is there something wrong with this monitor. pixels should be denser than 109
Hey man, at 1:36 you mention the monitor has a DisplayPort 1.2 when the website states is 1.4. Can you correct if wrong or clarify why you said 1.2 ? This would be a deal breaker for me because DP 1.2 does not support HDR.

Is 4k on a 27" monitor worth it in regards to any noticeable difference over 1440p & scaling? I heard that 32" is the minimum required to make use of 4k resolution, also desktop icons will look too small on a 27" at 4k.
I noticed the difference going from 1440p to 4k at the same display size.

the c to hdmi doesn't work for me either. I use a DP to usb c cable and it works perfectly.

Hello. I have problems connecting my macbook pro 2019 to the benq PD2700u. I already got the Thunderbolt cab been able tole(2m) and the ( Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2. But i have not been able to get it connected. Do help.
I tried the thunderbolt 2 to usb-c and didn't have any luck either. the DP to USB-C work perfect though and shouldn't give you any problems. here is the link to the one i use amzn.to/2XpBzhw

Anyway - can You please tell me if the silver case border is visible around the display when in use? It looks dark or silver depending on the shot. And how is the response times/lag for gaming (besides 60hz)
great thought on the comparison between the lg and this one. If you have a AMD GPU, then the LG will support freesync with gaming. There is no silver on the border, it was the lighting and the angle of the shot. response time is 5ms which works find for me in the games i play. Hope this helps

@@TheTechVault Even I was confused between this monitor and LG. Yes with AMD LG will be a little better for gaming experience but for editing purposes, this will have an upper hand. I have decided to go with Benq because my build is primarily for photo editing and occasional gaming (FIFA or COD) once a month at max. What are ur thought on this @theTechVault

I bought this for creative work and gaming on the side. I don't mind 60Hz, but I can't find anything about FreeSync and I think that is kind of a glaring omission at this price point. Otherwise though, excellent.

@@TheTechVault I'll save it as second option, I kinda prefer the LG because it can charge the MacBook with USB-C, and you can use the monitor as hub aswell to plug old usb stuff like the logitech mouse receiver
Hi I just found the matte monitors have a big problem which is the matte coating reflects the light making the dark and black colour grey and dull? I have a pg279q matte monitor and a 2013 iMac side by side. the black on iMac is way darker than that of pg279q. it's really annoying when you see dark scenes in movie or games. do you feel that way because you have a 5k iMac also?
Great question. No, the blacks are deeper on my iMac but the blacks on my benq doesn’t give off a grey or dull from reflections. I wonder if this is something they corrected on the U mode from the P mode.
it's black but not deep enough especially when I open the light. it's worse when i happen to have an imac by side. I feel i can't bear with the matte monitor now becuase of the comparision :(
check you video at 4:33. this is a huge reflection on the bottom left which is what i mean "grey"

I bought this monitor, which generally is good, but here’s one issue: the horizontal edges (next to the bezels) look blurry. The only way to correct things was by reducing the horizontal resolution from 3840 to 3802 (Nvidia menu), but that also drops the bit rate from 10-bit to 8-bit.
