Those country roads remind me of the route I took on my test. Bloody lethal at 8:30am with all the school run mums in their SUV's twice as wide as the lane. No idea how I passed. 🤣

interesting to see that you seem to allow dry steering on the maneuver. I understand too how this helps a lot as it makes it easier with the stop and dry steer while in the middle of the maneuver. And when going in and out of a tight space.
I remember my first instructor just goes ballistic whenever I do dry steering on any of the maneuvers (just like the way he did in this video). Although I understand why they insist on not on doing it (tire worn out unevenly, suspension issues etc.). The nastiness just wasn't for me so I went for a different instructor...
Always a good watch all the proper mock test videos where you don't intervene whatever the student is doing. i.e. Treating it like a proper test.
There do seem to be a lot of instructors that care more about wear and tear on their car than they do about teaching their students. If you are going to use your car to give driving lessons, you have to expect it to get a bit of a beating. The tyres are probably going to be destroyed by a student scraping the sidewalls against a curb long before wear from dry steering becomes an issue.

The phrase "depends on the examiner" does my head in... It should be black and white,,,not grey... I firmly believe in todays age that tests should be recorded and if there is a questionable decision it can be reviewed and discussed by a team. lets get out of the 1930's and do things by the book...nothing stopping this.

As this fantastic mocking test, I realized how much the weight of controlling speed is for driving, even that's already showned clearly from the previous series vedios of Richard. And that's exactly the reason why Richard focused so much on how the driver is supposed to control the vehicle through speed once one road, instead of break/or clutch except the situations of such as park or emergency stop. I like how the red car that overtook him from the manoeuvre behind the black car at the beginning, flashed his hazards a couple times, as they knew made a mistake
seems to me they put them on to indicate they were stopping to reverse park

Congratulations on passing! On a wet road it's a 4 second gap. 4 car lengths would be dangerously close at 60mph.

Need to tell the person you are using cockney slang, it really does helps to know what the hell you are on a about. While siting in the jam jar you could have given him a monkey for passing his test or take him to a nuclear sub for a few pig's ears but leave the jam jar at kip. Thanks again for a clear drive.

@6:45. My car only makes that noise when the rear window is clear. I usually use the rear defroster. It shuts off automatically

I always wonder: is it a thing in the UK that you don't use turn signals when going back/away from your road side or when parking in parallel (6:02)?
In Poland such maneuver without a turning signal would be counted as an error and the pupil would need to repeat.
If there is no one around or what we are doing is already obvious then a signal is not necessary.
I wish you had taught him to use the button on the handbrake. I find that noise irritating! Good drive.
I would be good to add text to video with comment like correct when answered a question or comments what was done well, or marking sheet for a test.
i'm so jealous look at how responsive that car is and how its holding idle around 800rpms i've got a crappy IM/Auris that idles at 600 with a clutch that is so heavy with a mile of travel- every start is essentially a hill start
To be fair, the clutch on my car is heavy.
i know this video is months ago and i've had my licence for over a year now since march (dutch licence), i still find it a little difficult to do hill starts. Do you recommend, the hold brake and keep clutch at biting point? or is the biting point plus handbrake better? sometimes it goes well, sometimes its questionable, no stalls tho so yay

Not sure in what stage of tuition is Domas now, but it would be nice if he worked on his foot pivoting instead of moving his whole leg between the gas and brake. I think that it will eventually become uncomfortable.
I focus more on output than input. If the car is controlled well I will leave him to it. As you say, if he starts to find his method uncomfortable he will change it.

This lad was asked to pull over and stop which he did at 26.47. The road was a clearway with solid white lines either side. Therefore stopping is not allowed. Tut. tut...but otherwise this video is great!
Stopping is allowed on this road. A white line does not mean no stopping. A red cross on a blue background or a red line pained on the road means no stopping. Examiners also use this road for the emergency stop. This white line is an edge line.

Got my test in a couple hours feeling nervous as hell
Time 12:56, why there wasn't a left indicator when leaving a roundabout?
22:22 if the give way line stretches the whole width of the road, doesn't it mean no entry? I know there is no no entry sign, but this road looks like a one way road joining the main road. At this moment I thought it should have been a serious fault for not following the road markings.
I remember a time when I thought the same. It simply means give way. Give way before you go in and give way before you come out. So both directions need to giveway, I advise letting vehicles out before going into the road.
@@ConquerDriving how do you give way when you go in? As in, I understand that you give way when you enter if it is narrow, but I don't think it is how give way line is used. It doesn't make sense. Where you enter, there is a single broken line. If there are no other entrenches to that farm, or whatever that is, and I assume there aren't any, I think the road planners messed it up. If they really meant it to be no entry, they'd post proper signs, wouldn't they? There's actually a similar entrance later on in the video at 24:25, but there is no indication that it is a one way street. A bit odd, isn't it.
By the way I thought about it when I saw this road in your other videos. I couldn't believe it was no entry, bur that what the lines seem to say.
@@artemkatelnytskyiI’m guessing you don’t do much country driving? These double dashed junctions are particularly abundant, also junctions that have just a single dashed stretched are nearly as common too. They do not indicate a one way system/no entry at all, rather as you say rather poor road planning.
Saying that some junctions simply do not have the width to a have a divider at the junction, hence the double dash across it’s width. It’s unavoidable.

There are plenty of roads like this in Britain, you need to move very slowly in and be prepared to stop as the road is only wide enough for one car. In the north West of Scotland many of the roads are single track. One way systems in the country side are rare.
This is great timing I have a driving test on Wednesday it’s my second attempt. As my first one I failed for vehicle checks as I swerved on a dual carriageway when someone was overtaking in another lane during the show me question when asked to use the horn.
Edit: I failed again my driving was awful due to nerves so I made 3 serious faults and I drove worse than the first time. At least I have a cancellation for two and a half weeks time, so hopefully I can pass on my third attempt.
Edit 2: I passed my third driving test in an automatic with one minor!

Absolutely fine.
your back window wiper is not on can this be a fault?
The rear wash wipe is not meant to be left on. It's there to clean the window as and when necessary. Either use the water from rain or screen wash to clean. Saloon cars don't usually have a rear wash wipe as they're not as necessary due to air flow.

If the emergency stop is only included on 1 in 3 or less driving tests, why do you include it on every mock test?
Because anyone taking the test needs to know how to do it, doing it on the mock gets them used to doing it on a test scenario and not just when it's an emergency stop lesson
Because my tests are preparing my pupil for what may happen on the real test. My tests are harder than the real test, I explain this to my pupils.
22:33 there is double white line. That’s exit of the road and he enters. Serious fault?
A double broken line does not mean exit, it means give way. On narrow country roads it's common to have the double broken giveway line across both sides of the road to encourage you to let people out before pulling into the road as it's narrow. This line does not mean one way although you would find it in a one way system.

Why can't you overtake in the left lane?
Because that's the normal line you drive in, overtaking lane is the right lane
If the lanes are being properly then there is no need to, but if someone is wrongly driving in the middle or right lane then you can undertake them.
Because traffic should be able to leave the road or reach the hard shoulder if they need to. Passing on the left traps traffic on the right in the road.

In Great Britain a dual carriaway has a national speed limit of 70mph unless signs state otherwise. The grass in the middle is a central reservation and therefore it is a dual carriageway.

I never did any mock tests, I don't think they are that helpful cause in a normal lesson I'd do all the same things anyway, so a normal 1.5 hour lesson for me would be 2-3 tests in some sense.
I could be wrong though, maybe there is a reason I've overlooked.
