    For the people saying “why don’t they just move to another country???”
    Aside from leaving their friends, family, and the place they called home since day one... do you really think it’s that easy? There’s something called citizenship. Most people have only ONE citizenship from the country they were born in. (Very few have dual citizenships through either their parents or immigrations etc.) That means they only have permanent residency in their home country. They can travel to a lot of places visa free, but ONLY for a limited period of time, from weeks to a few months. Certain countries even require a tourist visa depending on your citizenship.
    They cannot just pack up their bags and decide they want to work and live in Australia from now on. It doesn’t work that way. Unless they have unique talent or offer something extraordinary, it’s VERY difficult to even obtain a work visa, let alone permanently residency (citizenship) in a foreign country. So please stop asking “why don’t they just move to another country?????”
    *Because they can’t.*

And he did wasted the room space for the washing machine as there are plenty of 24-hours self-service laundries in that area!........... My home is also in that area! The high cost of living in that area is because his neighborhood is Hong Kong University! There are not short of wealth students from mainland China in looking living quarters in that area!

    This is what happens when you turn shelter, something we need for survival, into an investment. Those at the top are making it big while the growing population losing out are finding it harder and harder to survive. The worst thing you can do is empathize with the winners, especially if they are winning at a system that is beating you. That’s why change is not happening. Everyone dreams of investing instead of having a Modest space of their own. It should be a lofty goal to live alone and own that space

      Low property price in US is caused by property tax. Americans are paying for it as well just by instalments. In HK you can stop paying for it at least after paid off the loan before retirement. In US you are still going to pay for it after you retired, property tax could go up with property value, retirement pension is usually fixed.

    Okay I don't know if it's because I come from Singapore (second most expensive housing in the world) but the fact that he can own a flat at 25 is pretty amazing because in Singapore you can't even apply/own public housing flats as a single (unmarried) applicant till you're 35 years old. And if you want to buy private property the starting price for a unit that size is also about $700k. Also I think having your own place for the price the woman paid is also okay hahaha but I think this is just because I'm from Singapore and the rental/housing prices are quite similar. The only advantage is if you get married that's why in Singapore people apply for houses before they get married so they can own property at a younger age (before 35).

    How on earth do disabled people who use a wheelchair like me manage? There's no way we'd fit. That's on top of the fact that we have a higher likelihood of being unable to work as much, so less income, and higher costs!

    I don't understand why we are living in smaller places. It's just insane how people live so tight. I've seen some data available at cia world factbook about land use. In Brazil, 62% of the total area of the country is covered by native forest, 33% is covered by agricultural and pecuary purposes, while 210 million people get concentrated in just 5.2% that is covered by urban areas like cities. That's just insane !

      Enzo Lupert a lot of the land currently not used for housing isn't suitable for it to begin with.

    • @enzolupert7934
      @enzolupert7934 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I understand that, but would think that living in small places with barely conditions such as most people who live in great areas around India and Bangladesh for example, with no sanitation facilities, where the population density gets over 30.000 people per square mile is suitable ?

    • @enzolupert7934
      @enzolupert7934 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rata 4U , So wouldn't it be better if we start to control births instead of having a lot of kids like people still have nowadays ? Also, some insects are facing extinction, actually where I live, mosquitoes are increasing every year and now they are still alive even with low temperatures. Nobody own lands, the governments own lands, because everyone think that just because they have a title of a house or a property in their names, they think it's theirs, but you still have to pay property taxes yearly and also, there are some things that you can't even do inside your fences, taking the risks of receiving a ticket or being arrested. Would you like to be put into a condo ?

    That first guys apartment wasn't horrible. He had a sink and a range and a microwave and room for a rice cooker. That washing machine was most impressive. I would be happier spending more money for less space if I had freedom rather than getting bullied to buy a house with someone that I hardly know.
