thank you man. can't stand people who only talk negative about today's music and compares it to back then like it's their fault they couldn't evole with the music .
+King$upreme and that's the thing they don't understand everything is not for everyone, and then they want the respect that they don't give to the new generation. instead of trying to guide the new generation forward they hate because it's deeper then them not liking the music because when they were on they had the youth and that's what you need in music which they don't have.
***** its disrespectful to reggae and dancehall to compare it to mumble mouth music. Jamaicans are speaking patois dialect that is a real dialect made from real words...its not just mumbling. The rhythm is important but why even have vocals if its unintelligible gibberish, that even when you look up the lyrics it still doesn't make sense.
if u can rap...u can rap...I aint gonna front like trap beats aint lit right now...but a premier beat! ..if u cant burn one of them...U can't rap foreal
Crazy Dramas a Legend on the Mixtape Scene Lil Wayne's Biggest tapes Jeezy Meek Dream Chasers Series Drama helped create this Mixtape Blueprint for these DJs these days
Of course Drama gonna defend the new artists he needs them as features on his projects to make money. A rapper can literally just mumble and hum along with the beat, but if becomes a hot track (still don't know how or why) it will get that rapper attention and they ended up bringing back big checks and notoriety. That's all this new gen needs. One hot track and a great producer. Smh why don't these producers get more attention? They're pretty much the main reason why most people like these songs anyway.
You're absolutely right. These producers make these artists look much better than what they really are. Still to this day I don't understand how the hell Desiigner got away with taking Future's sound & flow.
James Hall Desiigner got away with stealing Future's sound and flow cause in 2015 people decided that not writing your lyrics in hip-hop was acceptable. If one of the staples of hip-hop don't mean shit anymore than stealing a nigga's flow and sound don't mean shit either.
+k1dkur0 Very valid point you just made. Still angers me that he has a hit record by taking someone else's style but I guess to be fair, he ain't the only rapper who has taken/sounds similar to Future & if we really wanna dig deeper, Guwop is the Godfather of it all since he was the first to sound like he mumbled all his music.
Doesn't matter, it's the grass roots of hip hop, you have to write dope rhymes to be considered dope and respect your elders and the music they made. People like lil Uzi are trash
+Daniel Noel I'm not saying there aren't great rappers today, rappers I actively follow like schoolboy q, kendrick, cole, tech n9ne, yelawolf etc however vanilla ice had 1 song then his career nose dived, yet for some bizzare reason rappers like designer and future exist and will/have got long careers, shits ridiculous
+R. Gives NoFucks facts .. What's wrong with trying to keep the culture alive and putting these new wack ass rappers on the spot to see if they really nice on the mic .,, bitch that is hip hop ... Oh I forgot none of these new rappers are rappers .. They just rock stars

I still listen to BIG, Pac, Nas, Jay, Geto Boys, Outkast, Das EFX, Redman, Wu-Tang, Boot Camp, KRS, Special Ed, DITC, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Death Row, Bone etc.
ebro is right and i was just like that when i was my teens. Later on in life i started to listen to more cole, kendrick, lil bibby,Joey, bino, even drake when he on solo( even tho i been i listen them for ages),freddie gibbs, Krit, Dizzy, etc. They have the material that make you think about things and the song quality is so good that you can listen it again and again even its 5 or 6 years old , you still can listen to it.
Why when people make the comparison betweens eras, they only limit the convo to the SOUND. But really what was crazy about the Young dudes from the era before is the shit that was thinking. They was lit, like the young dudes that they were. But the songs they wrote was crazy. The shit Nas was writing at 17 yrs old, fuckin unbelievable.
+James Hall I swear, I said this year's ago. a Gangsta Grillz with Rick Ross is long over due, I can't believe it never happened. Idk about the Drake one, but that could possibly be cool
R.I.P L.A mostly what XXL does is just put them on the map dicky did the same it's like giving the world some of your material stand up comedians do it all the time take a part from their old stand up and put it in their new one
That can't be the reason Meek was mad. For the simple fact, he put the whole hook on the song, including that bar. People are going to say it was over that bar, or because of Nicki, but I think it was because Meek paid Drake for an authentic verse, and Drake gave him some shit he didn't write. It's like going to buy a brand new car, and they give you some shit somebody just returned that's all dirty and fucked up. Yeah, you got the car, but it's not what you wanted. If Meek and Drake would've just talked it out and Drake gave Meek his money back or have him a couple more verses for free, the shit would've been squashed within a day. But dudes be having too big egos for that. It's a shame to excellent artist can't make music together over some simple, easily resolved bullshit.
Bullshit a Verse is a Verse Drake still gave Meek a Fire Verse meek fucked his own money up that Song was getting a lot of play when it dropped now nobody even play it no more because of the beef
+Ink Rich if I pay you for a verse and I find out your friend recorded it and wrote it. Ima return that shit. And you can't say shit about it I payed for your verse not somebody else's. Drake fans I just can't relate.
Totally understand, but if your friend was to do that, you can just stop fucking with him, what Meek did was try to end Drake career and his name publicly, which was kind of a selfish move
Baretta Boy12 see how you still justify Drake. Meek can act however he wants he paid for the verse. Thats why the buyer can make a complaint and not the seller
+Kershley Charles open minded or tryna capitalize off of an opportunity? he said he doesnt know if Lil Uzi Vert's music will stand the test of time, but he said his shows be lit. He doesnt believe in him, he just sees him as thing for now. Vert also looks like the assembly line of artist thats out now and his music isnt different
no he's open minded. what's wrong with Lil Uzi? He's a dope artist whether u like it or not it's just dumbass wanna be hip hop heads that are too stuck in the fucking past want everything lyrical when in reality it's not all about the lyrics it's about making dope records & Uzi makes a lot of those..
Jordan Clemons No early hip hop artists knew if their music would stand the test of time. It's not up to the artist or DJ, that's up to the fans. Vert can controll how his shows go and apparently they're lit
He looked shook when asked about meek mill and drake like he was lying about something. like they both dont mess with him anymore i bet he was the root of their beef
You know there's something wrong when even the dudes who listen to pop rap and trap rap will listen to Lil Yachty or Lil Uzi Vert and say turn that shit off.
+I Bee CautiousS yeah right, bet you never heard Bitter sweet great song, Minnesota, Next up pt 2, Fucked over, Wanna be us.. what you named just a radio hit i don't listen to the radio
yes i wish Ebro would catch up wit the time. ...it's not what you like its what's selling. the fact that the old heads didn't have direct access to particular music just made the anticipation greater which made the the music more appreciated but now a days we can just shuffle thru hundreds of songs and just pick what the hell we like lol damn times are changing and you can either get with it or dust off your old records
Just because there was wackness back in the day just like there is in this era doesn't mean we shouldn't still address it and check youngins when they disrespect the greats AT THE LEAST Make ur poopy music, if it sells, it sells, idc about that. The disrespect and people just letting that go is what irks me..
As in not knowing, or even wanting to know the people who made this possible in the first place. Disrespect in the form of "Naw i don't do those beats (DJ Premier) i'mma rock star" Like breh. If you said "He's nice but i don't really do those beats i do my own thing" i'd respect that. i can't respect the way some of these new niggas operate,
+Alec Ashby more popular yes, more 90s idk about that, trust me i love Joey, Steezy and Dessy as much as the next Era fan but being more "90s" than people like Nehru, Stro and Dymez idk about that
But rap/r&b Radio stations aren't playing a lot of lyrical hip-hop, so why get all high & mighty about a new rapper who isn't lyrical and doesn't want to rap over a Premier beat?
+C.A. Hall Nas made it possible Hov, Biggie , Fabulous, Kanye, Weezy sometimes being versatile is important everybody dont want to hear bars all the time
Ebro always saying "I'm from an era where..." If you haven't realized, this is not that era. You gotta eventually get with the times or keep watching your ratings fall till you fall off the face of the earth.
+Michael Tolliver youre missing the point. Its meant to be like that. Rappers like that never claim to have the best bars. Its party music. No one wants to listen to some serious ass lyrical shit at a party. Party people want some shit with a fire beat to vibe and dance to. Its different levels to this music stuff. Lyrics arent everything.
...this nigga swag ain't changed.. his look ain't changed.... always rockin the Hat and chain.... still Lightskin...ammmmmn "some things will never change " - Tupac
+Michael Tolliver Bruh there are no more Nas's or Biggies or Jay-Z's or Tupac's. If you want to reminisce the 90's and 2000's go ahead. But this is a different generation, they are doing something different with Hip-Hop.
Ebro always come off as bitter lol, Yachty & Uzi is music when you just want to have fun. Cole & Kendrick when you want to hear some knowledge. Different music for different moments, but its a place for all of it
No!!! The game is 98% flooded in bullshit like young thug and migo type mafuckaz then the other 2% is knowledge and conscious rap from J Cole and Kendrick and Pusha T smh
+Bigdickgenius92 I know your ignorant about rap cause Pusha only raps about moving weight and bullshit. That's not an insult either cause pusha's dope af and one of my favorites OAT. Most rappers have spit bullshit in their careers so don't go acting all high and mighty in your music taste.
It's not that Lil Uzi is trash, he's not a rapper. He's an entertainer! These new artists are succeeding in entertaining all of us, that is why we are watching this interview.
They try to act like they're true fans of the artists all the time and dont know shit about the music. This nigga said he never heard the "dram cruise" one, i ain't even that big of a dj drama fan but even i heard that one.
All these generally old or closed minded people talk about new artists like 'they have no bars', 'it doesn't have a deep message' and 'they just mumble and jump around'. Really? If you want bars and you want deep messages use Soundcloud, apple music etc and listen to the shit you like. Trap and the new wave of music is not meant for everyone and neither are clever lyrics or deep bars. Hip hop is like language, it evolves so just choose the vocabulary or songs that you like. Why is there so much hate? They're young and making money while having fun. Some young artists are still bringing bars like kendrick etc. The new wave is expanding hip hop with more traditional lyricists for conscious moods as well as now the newer and more up beat, fun, druggy songs simply to enjoy the mood the words and beats create. Therefore, now with the new wave and the old catalogue there is a greater variety hence appealing to a larger audience, allowing hip hop to grow and develop naturally. And people like Ebro say that 16 year olds don't have a significant opinion. we're the new world. Shout outs Lil yachty, lil uzi vert, travis scott, young thug, kanye, drake, future, Vic Mensa, wiz khalifa, Gucci Mane, Migos and Asap Mob
Drama is right about being well rounded. You need to be able to evolve/innovate but also have knowledge and respect for the past. Stop hating what other people like. Artists do interviews to entertain fans not to get roasted by haters that don't understand their music
Am I the only one who fucks with the old and new sound. Both styles are completely different and have their bright spots.
yeah but that's all about your preference of music, negative people always like to push negative energy so fuck them.

some new rappers are dope but these lil yachty and lil uzi bums need to be stopped
But rap/r&b Radio stations aren't playing a lot of lyrical hip-hop, so why get all high & mighty about a new rapper who isn't lyrical and doesn't want to rap over a Premier beat?

Ebro always saying "I'm from an era where..." If you haven't realized, this is not that era. You gotta eventually get with the times or keep watching your ratings fall till you fall off the face of the earth.
Uzi is trash though
+June Amarillo he was?? he commented 30 mins ago lol
+June Amarillo Uzi doesn't have bars
+KIRK ERNEST I agree he's trash
+Michael Ahles It's like people are too dumb understand lyricism anymore
+KIRK ERNEST exactly it's fucking crazy what dudes can listen too. I listen to a record for great bars, metaphors, and dope ass beats.
interesting conversation
especially "I'm a 90s hip hop" quote.
lil uzi is better version of young thug just a turn up rapper get off his nuts
yup
W
I know just another turn up rapper with no bars or substance in his music ... He's trash ... Ok now let's get off his nuts
Lil uzi isnt better than thug tho lol
+Michael Tolliver youre missing the point. Its meant to be like that. Rappers like that never claim to have the best bars. Its party music. No one wants to listen to some serious ass lyrical shit at a party. Party people want some shit with a fire beat to vibe and dance to. Its different levels to this music stuff. Lyrics arent everything.
"Last year I had Drama girl, not right now". Such a simple line is a triple entendre, and people really question Drake's pen game smh.
worst xxl Freestyles and ciphers ever only herb and Dave east went in to me, lil dicky was ok
why about denzel curry he was mad dope
You must've never heard iggy or OJ da juiceman
Lil Yachty did his thing, and everyone had written verses except Uzi, 21, &Kodak
kodaks verse was on his mixtape. kodak black ft boosie - Slayed
...this nigga swag ain't changed.. his look ain't changed.... always rockin the Hat and chain.... still Lightskin...ammmmmn
"some things will never change " - Tupac
That's just the way it is
travis mclaurin true
It ain't the 90's and the 2000's anymore, we should appreciate Hip-Hop for what it is now.
Fuck out of here ., I apreciate quality .. Not what's hot or relevant right now ... You can be a bandwagon dude
+Michael Tolliver Bruh there are no more Nas's or Biggies or Jay-Z's or Tupac's. If you want to reminisce the 90's and 2000's go ahead. But this is a different generation, they are doing something different with Hip-Hop.
Great hiphop talk
Most rappers have spit bullshit in their careers so don't go acting all high and mighty in your music taste.
all of big krit is knowledge
fab.. there is no competition mixtape is what I was listening to at 15
if dj drama came out of jersey shore I wouldn't be surprised
If you came out b4 2013 I fuck with you heavy
Ebro... Mick Jenkins Earl Sweat shirt and Vince Staples.. Logic... Wale... Stizz... Nav... Tory Lanez... Bryson Tiller...
i like hiphop talks like this
i agree that some music from this generation will stand the test of time, but not most of.
Laura Stylez is the DJ Envy of Hot 97.
Nah I disagree. She don't contribute to the convo as much and she ain't that feminine either.
"and I'm supposed to listen to you with this half-cocked bullshit ass record?" 😂😂😂 Ebro a real one
omg when does he start talking about the meek mill and drake situation? I'll be back in a day the times better be under my comment. Please and thanks.
Ebro keeping it real !
crazy level of click bait in the title...
It's not that Lil Uzi is trash, he's not a rapper. He's an entertainer! These new artists are succeeding in entertaining all of us, that is why we are watching this interview.
"Facts" - Rosenberg (every 5 seconds)
lmaooo
They try to act like they're true fans of the artists all the time and dont know shit about the music. This nigga said he never heard the "dram cruise" one, i ain't even that big of a dj drama fan but even i heard that one.
19:10 really good point, people do this all the time
It's not that Dram lying his ass off about this new music.. he just not letting his dj opinion in hip hop not fuck up his personal investments.
Dj dramas facial structure kind of resembles Otis the cow from that one farm animal movie
He forgot to say Mac Miller on the album /:
That hot 97 Uzis freestyle was 🔥 if you know how Uzi raps
they didnt get them from him ..but it was recorded at his studio
yooo hahaha im dying ebro keep trying to justify the premier beat every chance he get
DJ Akademics brought me here
Healthy conversation
Drama tell me one line u heard from Uzi vert that made u say " damn that's a bar" ?
IS THIS A BRAND NEW CAMERA??
Shout outs Lil yachty, lil uzi vert, travis scott, young thug, kanye, drake, future, Vic Mensa, wiz khalifa, Gucci Mane, Migos and Asap Mob
drake has got albums that will stand the test of time.
Ebro really living up to that old mane name
What is DJ Drama nationality ?
He's a white guy who thinks he's black. Uses his hideous beard line up to try to look blacker. It's kind of pathetic.
+coketransactions hes mixed
mexican
nah he's defo mexican bruh check his wiki page
gaynese
Drama is right about being well rounded. You need to be able to evolve/innovate but also have knowledge and respect for the past. Stop hating what other people like. Artists do interviews to entertain fans not to get roasted by haters that don't understand their music
why yall love to hate on lil uzi n yachty?
