Excellent video, its so cool to see three long trains running at the same time. You should do that more often in todays videos and give more time to just watching them go around at different speeds.
Thanks very much for the comment - really glad you liked these videos! I love the small open wagons too - they make a great train together! All the best mate, Sam :)
Enjoyable insight into your new acquisitions. Just today, decided to add Hornby Pullman, with lights, to my collection. Obtained R4425, R4660 and R4478.
Did you know that the Pullman coaches were used in two movies 102 Dalmatians and Paddington 2. But in 102 Dalmatians Flying Scotsman was pulling them. And in Paddington 2 Tornado was pulling them. Pretty interesting.
Great bargin you got there Sam . The nasty green coach you could take off the body and re-spray it Marron and use it as a service coach. Now a days most of the locos have one behind tender when on rail tours.
Pullman coaches are absolutely beautiful! I might get some for my birthday, i would love the ones with the lights but they are too expensive so ill probably get the normal ones
Great batch of new toys Sam. Love the railroad Pullmans. I've just completed a full set of the Triang Pullmans with pinpoint axels. Most of mine to date had the old sleeved wheels on axel. Very heavy to pull especially at that incline! Oscar
Hi Oscar - thanks again for the comment, those railroad Pullmans are great! I bet your tri-ang set looks absolutely fabulous - I have four myself, but only a couple have the pinpoint axels sadly, so mine are extremely heavy! All the best mate, Sam :)
Hey Sam I am, nice haul I saw those wagons on Ebay. I like Prime Pork vans I also built a wee rake of Birds Eye Van's. I dont like those Hornby biscuit type vans the underframe is from a tank wagon. I would like to see the Prime Pork rake chugging alone. Anyway take care.
Thanks very much Keith - these did feel like good bargains! I definitely lacked in Pullman coaches, so I was really happy with those! Cheers mate, Sam :)
I like the Pullman coaches very much. Have a few of them from Hornby and a few older from Lima. But more expensive due to the shipments from UK to Germany.
I wish I could have pullman coaches like that for what little British/European stuff I have. Obviously being from America I have a large collection of US engines and rolling stock but it be nice to add some of the foreign stuff especially to go with my Thomas and Friends engines and rolling stock. Breathe 5 pounds per coach is a pretty good deal. Here in the states I usually buy coaches at 10 bucks or less. In fact I try to keep the value below ten but I have certainly paid more. Nothing wrong with buying old stock as quantity has its weight in gold. I know this video is old now but still cool to see where you got those Pullman's from that I see so often now.
I have one of those brown hornby/tri ang brake vans and I've found it really hates points and almost allways jumps the rails when going over them. In other news, great video Sam!
Nice set of wagons, and the price was right, Pullman coaches look good. You can away]'s rename them, as I did. I am avoiding E Bay for a while as I also cannot resist it.
The Pullman coaches might be useful if you want coaches to run with London Brighton & South Coast Railway umber liveried locomotives such as the Bachmann E4 and the Atlantics. I don't think that you will find any LB&SCR liveried ready to run coaches any time soon. The Pullman livery was based upon the coach livery that the LB&SCR started using when they introduced umber for locos.
Thanks very much Simon - I was very pleased with the price of all that! And good idea - I normally concentrate on locos - as long as they have a small selection to pull, I'm happy! All the best mate, Sam :)
Suggestion, when running the rake of Pullmans I would suggest having the 2 brake ends opposite of each other, It makes it look a little more color arrange of maroon, cream, cream (so on), maroon.
@@SamsTrains You could get the exact or very very similar font and have them printed onto water-slide transfer paper. Or if you want to push the boat out use gold leaf! :-D
haha thanks! It's not that I hated it... it just won't go with anything else I've got - and the colours are much more ludicrous in person too! Cheers, Sam :)
+Sam'sTrains ah ok, I've got a loco with a rather odd livery, I found a triang princess lizzy at a car boot sale for £3.00 unfortunately somone has painted it highlighter pink very heavily, but it runs brilliantly, cheers QHATB
You have been enjoying yourself on eBay. : ) I also like some of the older Tri-ang wagons, the bodies can be removed and glued on to newer Hornby chassis if you wish, I've done this many times for appearance and running qualities. Regards, Cliff.
Hi Cliff - thanks a lot for the comment! It is a good idea actually - I may try and do that for the open wagon, since it's in such good condition... although it wasn't actually too bad on my modern track!
Five coaches for five pounds is brilliant, the cheapest coach I've ever bought was an old Pullman coach for six pounds, liked the wagons advertising food, made me hungry, had to pause the video a few times to get food :) great video. Keep the faith - Callum
Hi! Yeah - I was really pleased with those bargains, and they're pretty good coaches too! And haha - sorry about that, I'll try to keep the food wagons away lol! Cheers, Sam :)
Thanks again Jon - and great suggestion, I'll give those a try with them one day! I think the Blue merchant navy would look gorgeous with them! Cheers mate, Sam :)
Hi Sam. You should really run your passenger trains with a BCK, BSK or BTK at each end so stop knocking them and buy some more brake coaches to run more authentic trains on your carpet. From Iancooper62. Collector of Southern Regions, Southern Railway, LB&SCR, L&SWR, SE&CR and railways that constituted SR and BR(SR) coach sets upto Era 5. Also I collect Pullman cars with working table lamps and Push-Pull sets mainly Hornby as some are ludicrously priced.
Thanks mate, glad you like them! I buy some locos new, but rarely buy new rolling stock - those pullman coaches were the first coaches that were new to me ever - I just can't justify £20+ for a coach lol! Cheers, Sam :)
Hi! I've got about 200 locomotives, a few hundred coaches and a few hundred wagons! I will do a collection video for this year at some point, if you're interested! Cheers, Sam :)
Hey Sam, would these metal wheeled wagons be ok to run on a DCC layout? Im presuming there must be some insulation between the wheels to stop short circuiting? Sorry if thats a daft question, I was brought up with Hornby Dublo 3 rail!
Hi there - it depends on the ones - if it's Hornby dublo, then only if the two wheels or insulated - otherwise you'll short out your controller. If the wagons are Hornby/Lima/Tri-ang etc (anything later), then most likely it'll be okay - double check they are isolated! Thanks for watching, Sam :)

Put your hand out, you naughty boy! You get a hard SMACK on the hand for that. Well, I don't have as many coaches and trucks as you do, but I've added a pair of Blue & Grey BR Mk 1 coaches to my collection. As for the trucks, I decided I had a few too many so I donated some of them to one of the carriage shops behind Carrog Station, Cat's Protection/Welsh Air Ambulance Charity Shop, plus I've given a bit more of my collection away to a young lady named Sheana. She has subscribed to my channel, and looked and commented on my Terrier Tank Engine review, which you still haven't commented on yourself. Tsk, tsk. At this end also, I'm helping key worker Alison get her husband into the hobby himself. You would have done better to run those Chocolate & Cream coaches behind Broome Manor, but you didn't have her then. I'll let you off.
Wasting your money on models as you do, of course. That's what you've done wrong. Plus, as I've said, you still haven't commented on my Terrier Review video. I'm waaiiting!

I only have three Triang bogie coaches and a small blue 4 wheel coach
nice video sam love the rolling stock :)
Thanks very much mate - glad you liked it! :)

Check online with the different retailers, or Ebay - you should be able to get them for about £10!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Sorry , i cant get it :(
I have chloria and Sheila in a bundle from hattons. Sheila was from the queen of Scots. I'm still looking for more pullmans
