The popular Walt Disney World show has been modified for the safety of the performers and is now dubbed "A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King" and you'll be able to hear the music you love, but without the Tumble Monkeys and aerial acts.

I'm happy to see it back and understand why they cut out what they did. But, its not the same show without all the characters, tumbling monkeys and the aerial act. Still worth seeing.

@@tutuluvsminnie7129 I have to agree too, but to be fair... I am glad they updated some things. Like SImba's roars sound more varied versus the one-shot roar they used to give him, they tried to edit the audio well and it fits. Some of the acting is still great I love some of the new dialogue.

Family's favourite version of this show was played in Disneyland Paris, the fire "waterfall" would be remembered forever.

And a whole new updated shows has arrived in Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park!!! Because the King has returned!!!!😎
And like the similar of Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disneynature and National Geographic, they must be World Nature at EPCOT, where humans and animals resides, because of "The Land", "The Seas with Nemo and Friends" and "Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana" as 3 attractions!!!!

I hope the full version eventually returns and Disney doesn't decide that they don't need the tumblr monkeys or the aerial act...but it's still really good to see the show back even in a truncated state. I just hope we don't have to tell people for however long this show runs from here on out how yes, it's fantastic, but it used to be even more amazing. But again, it's good to see live entertainment starting to return.

Did they keep Timon’s dialogue the same? I swore it was like he was talking to the tumble monkeys that weren’t there. Found that part very odd. Guessing they can’t get a new voice track. Regardless, glad it’s back in any form

So the question is this……will it stay this way or when we get the all clear for going back to normal will it return with the full cast? I suspect we should all remember how it was because I think this is the new show! Sad for the mommies, not a lot of job opportunities for them!

Saw this “new” show during the soft opening in May 2021. Absolutely no reason to not have the tumbler monkeys or the arial acrobats. Just Disney being cheap. It was a lame experience.
They cut an off lot out of the show. No tumbling monkeys, less characters and girl flying around that I always thought was so beautiful Was this a money cut, shorter show or what. I am disappointed. Don't feel like it is worth much of a wait anymore.
Covid. Social distancing. Avoiding aerial particulates.
I believe it was mostly a Covid thing because of the interaction between the performers that took place before. And the audience. This way they can stay socially distant from each other. Not thrilled by it either but at least they are doing something. Also why they added 'A Celebration of' at the beginning of the title to say it is an abbreviated version.
I think it's still really good, and I would wait to watch it (since FastPass+ isn't currently available), but I really hope the full version comes back eventually, and Disney doesn't decide that audience reactions warrant making these changes permanent. The scenes you mentioned have brought me SO much joy the times I've been fortunate enough to be in this theater, and I really want them back.
And hand mikes??!! No headsets???
They used hand mics in the original pre-Covid show, as well. Those four characters used to interact with the audience before the main show, and needed a microphone to let the guests use to introduce themselves and make the animal noises. I'm okay with the hand mics still being a thing, as hopefully the audience interaction will return, along with the parts of the show that were cut for this version of the show.
The last time I saw the full version they were using hand mics too. It makes sense since they usually have to hold it out to an audience member to demonstrate the animal sound. Plus, to me it's always fit the festival vibe.
This a sad sad sad version of what this show can really be. Really disappointing to see. Hard to "feel the love to tonight" from the birds when they stay 6 feet apart the whole time.
