    I’m an older gamer, and I like the oled screen and the higher refresh rate it supports as well as all the i/o ports. It’s gonna come down to battery life, vrr support and refresh rate during high stress games, and just how easy it is to use their interface. Ultimately, I’ll wait to see reviews on performance and what next gen looks like for rog ally and legion go. I would love to see what steam deck 2 is gonna look like but it sounds like that won’t be for awhile.

      This is the answer. the only reason we buy this chip is for power efficiency. So if your more efficient but reduce battery by 30 whr then are you more efficient? I think not.

      @@christianr.5868 unless you plan to play with your hands wrapped in ice packs, you're not getting close to 4090 power for a very long time. 4090 performance pulls 15x apu top power. Would honestly melt the device with current cooling solutions

      @@christianr.5868that's a stupid comparison. The switch doesn't support any triple A games of course it can draw 5 watts. These are made to play Triple A games.

    • @christianr.5868
      @christianr.5868 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@alvinamana1459 what are you talking about? My point is that back then something that took 150-200 watts to play that generations triple a games. Is now being outperformed by something using 30-40 times less power. And plays that generations triple a games better. The switch does have triple a games from the ps3 and some from the ps4 generation

    "Japanese Original ALPS Rocker" and that's an automatic dealbreaker for me. There's absolutely ZERO excuse in 2024 to not use Hall Effect or TMR joysticks in a device that's going to be as expensive as it is. I used to have a Steam Deck and an ROG Ally (original) but one of the games I play the most right now is Street Fighter 6 and I plan on playing some upcoming fighting games as well, and while both devices had no issue playing the games, I didn't like the d-pad on either device for fighting games (I especially loathed the original Ally's.) I enjoyed both devices while I had then but ended up selling the Deck when I got my Ally, and I sold my Ally when I bought my beast of a desktop PC. I still want to buy another handheld PC in the future, but I've been waiting for a device that has everything I'm looking for, and that definitely includes having hall/TMR sticks so I don't have to ever be concerned about stick drift in my roughly $1k device.

      I'd love to purchase Rog Ally X even though the it only has incremental upgrades over Rog Ally. The 80WHR battery and 24GB RAM easily makes it future proof, even though it has basically the same hardware as Rog Ally.
      The AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme is enough to play AAA games even like GTA 6, that's how powerful it is at 30w.
      Can't wait for Rog Ally 2 to drop then Rog Ally and Ally X will drop in price!
