I adored watching your reaction, joy and awe to this video! This is one of the greatest performances of all time, by anyone, ever. George took every part of his performance to a whole new level! Even the rehearsal videos of this are amazing. Thanks for sharing George so beautifully and to a whole new generation of admirers. Wembley stadium at 70,000 capacity, before mobile phones. What an engaged crowd that George had in the palm of his hands. 🥰😍❤

It really was an epic performance, and he stole the show at the Freddie Mercury Tribute at Wembley Stadium in the same way that Freddie and Queen had stolen the show back at Live Aid at the same venue in 1985.

George came in every day for a while week to practice his performance because he wanted it to be perfect and it was..nobody else did that and Brian May said that it was the greatest performance of the night and that nobody could have sung it better and he made Freddie proud and he was absolutely right.. And what a lot of people don't know is that George found out 3 days before that his boyfriend and love of his life had AIDS.. He was holding so much in and said it was the hardest performance of his life.. He knocked out out of the park and in my opinion was the greatest performance he ever did.. Watching this again reminds me of how much I miss him..he was taken from us too soon.. But his music and this performance will live on forever.. Thank you for reacting to this one 💕

I had the pleasure of seieng George live when he was in the pop group Wham. I was at the first night of they're Club Fantastic tour on Sunday October the 9th 1983 in Aberdeen Scotland. I went with my cousin, her sister and her friend. I wasn't a fan but knew their songs. But I ended up a fan of George because his live singing back then when he was only about 20 was wonderful. It was better than on the records. He sang Carless Whisper for the first time ever that night so I was one of the first people to ever hear it and it was this song and his wonderful singing of it that made me a fan. George said that singing Sombody to love was his best performance ever. He stole the show with it. And what makes this even more sad is that Georges boyfriend was at the show watching this and had just been tested for AIDS and they didn't know if he had it. Sadly he did and he die some months later.

The tribute concert for Freddie Mercury was amazing. I watched it in real time back in ‘92 and have rewatched it probably dozens of times since. There were so many great artists and performances that day, but George’s performance was arguably the highlight of the concert. It was certainly my personal favorite, along with David Bowie and Annie Lennox’s performance of “Under Pressure.” Very good choice for your live performances week! 👍

yes, Anselmo died in March 1993 in Brasil. In the same year on World Aids Day (1st. December 1993) George played a benefit concert in front of Diana, Princess of Wales at London's Wembley Stadium. One of the most fabulous performances of all time. George was never better. And his choice of songs: Stevie Wonder's "love is in need of love today", "one more try", "father figure"..... AMAZING.

I love this Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Sometimes it’s hard to watch … keep waiting for Freddie to strut out & takeover the stage. But George Michael killed it. He was nervous about doing it cuz it’s his favorite Queen song & he wanted to make Freddie proud. I thought James Hetfield (Metallica) doing STONE COLD CRAZY & Joe Elliott (Def Leppard) doing TIE YOUR MOTHER DOWN was great! There has never been a tribute concert this big since that day in 1992. 👑👑👑

Zhou Shen has a high, feminine voice that often got him bullied in school. If his classmate only could have seen the talent in that voice.
As an introduction into Zhou "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye".
For something different from him, watch his version of "Ring the Doorbell" and "Da La Beng Ba".
His biggest success is the song "Big Fish".
Another singer that is highly rated is Hua Chenyu. One never knows what one will get with a Hua Chenyu song since he mixes genres and composes many of his own songs. He is an epic stage performer spilling his emotions into the audience so they can share in those emotions. He is also a master are redeveloping cover songs into his unique perspective.
I have a recommendation list, but it is not really in any particular order. "Nunchucks", "Child", I am what I am", "Fake Monk", "Friend", and "Dad, I'm Home"

A beautiful tribute. In later years George revealed that this performance was hard for him, he was waiting to find out if Anselmo was HIV positive while singing a tribute to his friend who had passed away from the same disease. He was the consummate performer.
There were approx 72,000 people in the stadium and it was televised around the world to over 1 billion people.

I don't know how they all kept it together so soon after Freddie passed? Of course there's now an extra layer of emotion with George and David Bowie passing! I think this was at Wembley stadium the same place live aid was put on about 72,000 people clapping all there for freddie.david Bowie did under pressure with Annie Lennox taking Freddie's part.it would be worth checking that just for the look Annie brought! The whole concert is worth a look.there is footage of rehearsals.in particular George's one about 3.15 in you see David Bowie and seal there watching.

Did you know that George Michael sang this song to his true love Anselmo Feleppa? Anselmo had just found out he had AIDS. In a documentary George Michael said: "I went out there knowing I had to honor Freddie Mercury and I had to pray for Anselmo. ... The performance most well known in my career was sung to my lover who was dying. I just wanted to die inside. ... I was so overwhelmed by singing the songs of this man I had worshipped as a child, who had passed away in the same manner my first living partner was going to experience."

Here is something you may not know. George considered himself to be bi-sexual until he met and fell in love with Anselmo Feleppa when he was 28 years old. Anselmo had a cold/flu that he couldn't get over and went for an HIV test. George said he looked up to the heavens and told God "don't you dare do this to me". After waiting 28 years he finally found true love for the first time and he could not imagine being faced with losing Anselmo. On the day that Freddie died in 1991, they found out that Anselmo was HIV positive. During his performance here you see George continuously gravitate to the right side of the stage. That is because Anselmo is located there and he was singing this song to him. Unfortunately Anselmo passed away from an AIDS related brain hemorrhage in 1993. The entire Older album is dedicated to Anselmo and the first track "Jesus To A Child" is about him. Really most of the songs are about Anselmo is some way. In the song "You Have Been Loved" he starts the song about he and Anselmo's mother taking flowers to his grave. In the MTV Unplugged masterpiece, George says hi to his mum who has come to see his show. He loved her dearly. Unfortunately she would die just three months after the show was taped. It was the back to back losses of the two people he loved most in the world that George never really got over. I always say I like to think of him in heaven with his Love Anselmo, his Mum Leslie, his Little Sister Melanie (who died exactly three years after George on Christmas Day in 2019) and his Idols like Freddie Mercury and Marvin Gaye. We love and will always miss you George. Thanks for the music legacy you left us. It will live on.
