Selena was really coming out in the early 90s as a bigger sex symbol. She had grown and mature and a lot of men obviously were not happy when she eloped in 93. She didnt really bring up her husband much but this was one of the few times she thanked him publicly... and obviously the results ended up in her being booed for thanking him.
I am a HUGE Michael Jackson and Selena fan. They were two unique human beings as well as entertainers. The only artist I would compare Selena to is Michael. She's unique in the same ways he is. Two beautiful human beings and AMAZING artists.
Jack one thing I miss in San Antonio TX is not seeing Selena- this young girl would sing @ our parks and night clubs.... But of course its Where she meant her killer.. sad
The Selena movie was a mixture of fact and fiction. Some things the director added for entertainment purposes. For instance the "washing machine" scene didn't happen. The Tejano market is male dominant , especially back when Selena y Los Dinos came out. So yeah I'm sure it was VERY hard for them being that a woman was in front. I'm sure things were twice as hard when she was a little girl.

It’s amazing how she can dance that much and sing and still have energy. Could you also react to No ma queda Más from the Astrodome concert. A lot of emotion on that one. Yes she was in a movie with a short singing part. The movie was don Juan DeMarco 1994 with Johnny Depp. She never got to see it because she was killed before it came out. So so sad. I love your reactions to her. You love everything about her just like I do and we miss her.
