Beautiful scenery along the valley floor. We are both very fortunate to live in our respective countries. You in Slovenia and me in Canada's east coast. We both have easy access to forest and valleys and I have access to the Bay of Fundy and the Atlantic Ocean. Unfortunately I don't have access to beautiful mountains as in Slovenia. Only the west coast of Canada has mountains. Wonderful results for your efforts. You were correct about the snowflake flowers popping in the image. Nicely produced video and dry plates as usual. Stay safe and keep well. Cheers from Canada.
Good video, as always. Can you teach more about how to determine exposures with dry plates? I have shot 10 so far, but only 1 was useable. The rest were all too thin and I can’t figure out why. Thanks!
@@lostlightart6064 That would be great. You mentioned in one of your videos on how to reuse plates. I need to watch that one again. All of my underexposed ones can be reused. Mine are coming out about 5 stops underexposed.
Thanks Jim. About the holder. To be honest I only had the modified 4x5 holders to 9x12cm until lately as I couldn't afford a proper 4x5 holder. However I just designed and made a dual 4x5 plate holder which I will start using in the following videos.
Fantastic work! Two questions: 1) Did you use the 90mm on the second shot? It looked like a different lens, but it might have been the viewing angle. 2) You are inspiring me to try dry plates. What film holders were you using? Sorry, you probably cover this in another video, but I just found your channel recently. Cheers!
Hey Culley, Yes same lens on both shots. Yes you should try them they are a classic! I just started with selling my own hand coated plates that are linked in the description of the video + I am just sending out first prototypes of dual dry plate holders so if you are interested you can contact me on lostlightart@gmail.com
Hi mate ! Wonderful job, those shots are stunning !! I was about to order a box of dry plates you sell on Etsy, but after a closer look I saw the exact size is 100x126mm. This doesn't fit in a classic modified 4x5" film older, does it? I have Fidelity 4x5" film olders, I wanted to modify one of them like you showed in a previous video, but it seems to small (?) Am I wrong?
Hey Kar! Mofided 4x5 film holder usually accepts 9x12cm plate so you need a dedicated dry plate holder for proper 4x5 plates. I just designed a Zebra dual plate holder and it is in prototype mode now so you can reach me thru social media for more details on that 😊
I love your videos on location, slowly dry plates start interesting me a lot. I love the results

Another enjoyable video and impressive results. May I ask: why not use 4x5 plates for these photos?

@@lostlightart6064 Thanks, look forward to seeing how the new holders work out.

In such low light conditions that require longer exposures, are you having to calculate for reciprocity failure?
Hey Bob. No plates are extremely fine grain so the reciprocity has no effect on exposure up to 1min 😉
Interesting. I did not realize that. It's certainly nice that you have that latitude.
