    Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the support on this video! My debut has gone well thanks to you guys!
    Also, I'm aware the bikes are unrealistic - the game is essentially fighting their existence😭
    If you'd like, check out my latest video here: th-cam.com/video/1U4pjlYbhfM/w-d-xo.html
    Thanks again!

    This reminds me of Tourist Trophy which is basically Gran Turismo just with motorcycles... Sim racing games should implement a motorcycle version/option for their engines.

    The brakes are likely poor because you're riding a 30+ year old bike

      @the-c0rqi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      yeah that checks out

    • @Gustaveichonn
      @Gustaveichonn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Heey, i'm not here to start a massacre, but the brakes being poor here is mainly because the game itself can't work properly with this non-car mod. Brakes in motorcycles are very good in general because of the MASSIVE weight difference between bikes and cars (250 kilograms ish VS 1200 kilograms ish). Now if a motorcycle isn't braking as sharp as you should feel in your handlebar, is because there's something affecting it.
      For example, at 3:57 the guy slammed the brakes (doesn't tell you which one) and the bike doesn't even react to it, not inclinating forward or anything.
      Despite the fact that, using the front or rear brakes with such fanatism at that speed (talking about this bike) will likely instantly lock up, and get you some nice "physical memories" if you are lucky enough.
      So, in short terms it isn't because the bike is old, it's just that the game can't simulate a 2 wheels vehicle standpoint, maybe at some point in the future it kinda could, but right now is very far from it.

    Looks really fun, if not 100% realistic.
    A few notes. Disclaimer, I'm just basing this on the contents of this video, and I'm not trying to bash the modding team who are doing it for free. Take these as pointers for later improvements.
    - (This one irks me the most, the others are nitpicky) The steering head movements don't match reality. Turning the bars left will tilt the bike right and initiate a turn in that direction. Mid-corner, unless you're going extremely slowly, the steering head should almost be straight. Counter-steering.
    - Wind buffeting (i.e. how much it makes the helmet shake) is a lot more severe irl than shown here. The lack of it detracts a bit from the sensation of speed.
    - The crash physics are comical 😂 They really do give away the fact that the game basically thinks they're cars.

    • @the-c0rqi
      @the-c0rqi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, motorcycle mods for AC have always been a little more gimmick-y than realistic. They're great fun but if you want actual simulation something like GP Bikes is better. It's already pretty hard to get them working with decent camera movement and AI, but when you do it's still a good time.
      Maybe one day we'll get fully realistic bike mods for AC, time will tell.

    • @inline4forlife

      Not sure I would want to see that "wind buffeting" increased since I don't even notice it irl, maybe an option for scrawny necks? lol idk

    If you're using this kinda mod, I will assume you're probably also using Content Manager. If that's the case, you can mess around with the Neck FX settings in Custom Shaders Patch to get a pretty decent representation of how the biker's head would move and react during the turns, acceleration, g-force and what not. It's worth giving it a try if you have the patience to configure it. There's also a lot of realistic Neck FX presets made by players on the web which you could use as a starting point. The video intro was hilarious. Nice vid.

    I know the steering is probably wrong. No idea if the gyroscopic and centrifugal forces are actually affecting it correctly or not, either. I wonder if beam NG could at least get those two factors right.

    • @the-c0rqi
      @the-c0rqi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The motorcycles are pretty jank so I'd imagine it's not taking into account any of the more complex physics - as for BeamNG, maybe? Like it is primarily for cars but it's really detailed so it potentially could.

    • @valinhorn42
      @valinhorn42 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not about gyroscopic forces (those just add resistance to steering inputs) or "centrifugal" one (you'd only experience these if you're part of the spinning wheel and made that your frame of reference). Counter-steering works because turning the front wheel e.g. left makes it want to move left, out of the line between COG and rear wheel. This shifts the contact patch and effectively moves the COG to the right of the line between the wheels, causing the bike to tilt to the right.

    If you want a real motorcycle sim experience, try out GP Bikes, (there's even a demo). Being a rider myself, the games physics are extremely good. Just know that you might have trouble making a single lap around the track without crashing at the start. XD Also the brakes must not be done quite right. Motogp bikes can brake faster than literally everything, even F1 cars. And any modern sportbike can outbrake any car on the road.

Countersteering is a personal issue though, if you don't ride IRL or you aren't as picky as I am, then it shouldn't be a problem. if you want to dive into really well made motorcycles games you should try ride 5 for a really good looking and new player friendly game or isle of man TT bit harder but has really good physics. And then you have mx bikes and gp bikes wich get pretty hard once you disable riding helps in game and even more when your disable abs, tcs, anti wheeling on the bike, the last two are the best in terms of physics in dirt or asphalt but lack more in graphics. I don't think assetto is quite there yet with bikes but definitely one of the best games for cars

      I'm using an app called touch racer that uses the tilt sensor in my phone to control steering, along with sliders on the touchscreen for throttle and brake. It works well for more detailed steering input, but you have limited options for controls, hence why I can't shift gears.
