I’m so glad my video was helpful. I try to be as thorough as possible so that everyone can make a decision just by watching my video, especially the blend test. They’re great to add into the original 120 set. All the colors are new and different.
I recently purchased the 120 set of the Gold Castle Arts pencils and I really like them, but there were some broken pencils and I emailed their customer service as there were quite a few. I received immediate response and they are replacing them. When a company shows this kind of excellent customer service it makes me confident to buy their products and I am a happy customer and have now orderd the pastels which are once again available in the tin.
I really like my new Harmonious set. I like how they lay down even on the smooth swatch chart that came with the new set. Now I haven't blended them in a book or on a color page but absolutely love the colors. I'll definitely be getting the metallic set next.
I just got these pencils this last Monday. I have been using them on coloring pages with flowers and comparing them with my water based markers. They work well! The colors seem floral based(so many have flower names). I'm considering buying the metallic set also. I've the case and I am impressed with the info provided. Recommend these. The other pastel sets I have were cheaper and not worth the price .....these are. Of course these are not Holbeins but they are probably comparable to that Polish set people talk about! Love your video. 🤗

I doubt that I’ll get this pastel set. I already have 2 pastel sets, the Monarch set, and I have the Astra PastelLowe (colors VERY similar to Holbein colors) pencils on the way from Poland. 🤣 I own all of the Black Widow sets (the skintone sets and the Dragon set on the way), 3 Prismacolor sets (24, 132, and 150), a 36 set of Polychromos, 2 sets of the square Brutfuners, and a 100 pack and a skintone pack of Crayolas. Just too many. lol I’m working on creating my own swatch book to put in my Etsy store. So excited!
Thank you so much, I'm trying to expand my swatches from a little amount of Caran D'ache, Prismacolor and Artful pencils (all very soft, but I have just a few). This seems to be a good option, but I'm still a little bit confused about the difference between the not-pastel ones and these ones, I listened they (pastels) are "scratchy", is this true?
In Canada - we can only get the one with the case. I agree - will have to purchase a case and this will solve that - but I like the pretty cases too. Lol Going to buy soon I hope and the Metallics also.
Do you have a swatch chart for the 300 Kalour pencils please? I have been thinking about getting the Metalics as well as the pasteltints from castle arts as I live in the UK and every now and again on there website they have offers if you buy your pencils in a bundle.

I want them! I already have the castle Art 120 and I think the pastel set will go well with them. I don’t mind these pencils. I tend to use them for details because they are smaller and harder then prismacolor and because they are a budget pencil, I don’t mind sharpening them often! Great Video!👍🏻👏🏻😘💖💝💘🇨🇦
Just for your information. You keep referring to these as budget pencils. That’s not the case here in Australia. For this set on Amazon it costs $103.63. That’s $2.15 per pencil. Compare that to what you can buy Fabre Castell polychromos for, and they are not far behind in price, so definitely not budget friendly. I am in the US so I only know prices for the US. But I have heard many say that the prices are much higher in Australia and other parts of the country. How does the price on these compare to an artist-grade set in Australia?
I love my Castle Arts 120 set. I purchased them on Amazon about 7 months ago, but I just discovered on their website how many different type of coloring sets they carry AND cheaper prices. I actually like them over my Prisma's sometimes. :)
The Periwinkle was fine after that first swatch. I realized while I was editing that it was the same one I used for the blend test. Maybe it was just the initial use. It's fine now and no longer scratchy at all.
I need a 12 Step program! I swore I wasn’t going to buy any more pencils. In fact, I actually gave some of my sets away in order to declutter. Well, that resolve has gone out the window! Last week I ordered the 180 set of Kalour, and today I ordered both the pastel tint and metallic pencils!

These are all new colors. They work very well with the original 120 set. If you watched to the end where I did the blend test, I believe I mentioned it when I used both sets together.

It would’ve been enough to satisfy my curiosity without me needing to purchase the others. The Gold Standard aren't really much different than the soft touch as far as how they look when you color with them, but there are different colors in the set, even the set that has the same amount
These look exactly like the Astra Pastelowe and the Indra Macarron shades. Those are all basically dupes for the Holbein pastel shades so I guess these are, too. Would love it, if anyone has any of the others, to see a comparison.
I would have to assume that quite a few of the colors are the same or similar. There are only so many pastel shades. I’m just in love with the light blue!

I got told the gold castle art set is the same as the old ones for colour. But new and improved.
Yes, they’re supposed to be the same exact colors. But they’re not wax-based like the first 120 set.

I noticed the scratching ss too on the periwinkle…I noticed it on the tickle pink too….but they are beautiful…

I have not purchased the metallic set. I purchased these as well as the new Dragon set that is out. I may review them in the future sometime.

I don't have the Pastelowe set of colored pencils to compare these to them.
I don't have the CA ones but do have Pastelowe and from what I'm seeing in demos and swatches, the CA are more scratchy, waxy, and less pastel toned.
These look really pretty in the tin, but even more so when swatched. Please show us when you have used them in a picture.
I’ve started using them in a coloring book. But, I’m still testing them in different books and on different paper. I’ll update soon.
