I'm so sorry someone on your team didn't act in your best interest. ❤ I can't imagine anyone who has ever watched more than a few of your videos questioned why the sunscreen was such a pretty shade of purple.
What they should question is why she would formulate it to be so emollient/oily, if it was meant for acne-prone skin. I wore nothing under it today to try and make it less heavy and oily looking.. but it still feels a little bit suffocating. Lol I was expecting a matte sunscreen, not gonna lie.
@@tedoymisojosThe idea that emollient/heavier products are inherently bad for acne prone skin is a myth that's been disproven. Some folks with acne or other skin diseases are best served with thicker products because those products meet their skin's needs. "Acne prone" is a medical condition, not a skin type like dry, oily, and balanced. The skin barrier supporting ingredients in the sunscreen are far more important for determining whether a product is good for acne prone skin.
Managed to get one of these in the U.K, and I can confirm no stinging, no smell (smells faintly like an unfragranced baby powder/lotion) and feels soothing and moisturising on my sensitive, acne prone skin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
its also quite emollient, veering into oily territory. I was surprised and won't be repurchasing. IM sure the texture won't be as problematic in cold, dry weather though. But I might as well get any ol drugstore Neutrogena sunscreen, which is also oily but ends up being decent when the weather is dry and cold. Cheaper and more product.
respect to you for actually addressing these things! i personally cannot use it near the eyes, as it does sting my eyes, but anyone else i ask say it doesnt sting them! so you saying it doesnt sting most people makes me feel validated :)
It BURNS my eyes BAD. That being said, otherwise I have absolutely no problems with the formula. I've got massively sensitive eyes. Honestly my eyes are problematicaly sensitive. I'm glad to hear most people aren't having their eyes sting or burn. As long as I don't apply around the eyes, it's really nice! I'd gladly be a guinea pig for an extra baby sensitive eyeballs approved variant, lol.
Same here! It burns as hell my eyes, but most of sunscreen does. What do you use around the eyes? I’m always looking for a sensitive eyes spf approved 😅
@@LookingForMySelf24 I'm not sure how good these are for sensetive eyes, since I normally wouldn't consider myself someone with sensitive eyes! But I don't remember having trouble with the beauty of joseon relief sun, and the Tocobo watery sun cream. One thing that could help is for example if I use an SPF stick around the eyes, and whatever sunscreen on the rest of the face. That's how I've been using the Purple Protector, although it is abit annoying using two products!
Cassandra you are a breath of fresh air when it comes to transparency and onesty. Thank you for taking the time to explain to us all of these notions clearly and honestly.
The very moment your video about this sunscreen emerged on your channel in the middle of September, I immediately ordered it. I was surprised that here, in Vietnam, people have been buying and using it since August. I loved it! No irritation or greasy look, though it has a stinging sensation in my eyes. And now, on one of the popular Vietnamese online platforms, the price is still $13! Thank you so much, Cass!
I bought 3 of these without even having tried it because I trusted you so much and it’s literally my favourite that I’ve ever tried. It’s glowy without being greasy and sticking around on the skin all day, I’m obsessed with the colour and it makes it more fun to use, it has sliiiightly stung my eyes if I’ve rubbed them when I’ve had it on but I do have very sensitive eyes anyway. My only wish is that is was an SPF 50! ❤
I bought the Purple when you first launched it, and I love it. No smell or burning on my sensitive perioral dermititis skin. Blends in well and helps my skin looks so healthy.
I have a love and hate, more love, relationship with this sunscreen. I live in south Florida so using the 2 finger method is a no-go for me especially in the summer since the humidity is too high!! I was able to feel the sunscreen on my neck on those really steamy days. However, just using 1 finger of sunscreen was soooo much better (I work indoors). Unfortunately it does sting my eyes (I wear contacts) so using one finger worth of sunscreen also helped with this. Now on to what I loved about it. It blends in soooo easily, there is No cast, does not break me out (yes I'm acne prone), and it does have a slight blurring effect on the skin that makes my skin look good all day!! I've already purchased my second bottle!!
I found it too emollient too. You can't use less sunscreen to make it more acceptable, because then you'll compromise the protection. I have to powder it down to use it. I won't repurchase it and might have to finish it on my neck because it feels a bit suffocating on my face and breaks down my makeup quicker than my more matte & watery sunscreens.
@@BongoReaction10 Under makeup I use either Paulas Choice Youth Extending Fluid spf 50 or if I want a water-resistant option, Allies of Skin The One Spf 50. If I'm not using makeup or don;t mind as much if my makeup looks perfect or not, I use Elf Invisible spf 35. On my neck, chest, and arms I use Elta MD UV lotion Spf 30.
I just got my second tube of this. I love it so much! The smell is so so faint… Almost like old-school baby powder… But ****so*** faint. It is no-show on my very pale skin and causes no problems on my very sensitive and allergy prone skin. This is my favorite sunscreen.
I just got this and I’m obsessed! I’ve tried a lot of sunscreens and this is my favorite so far. Not greasy, goes on easy without white cast, does not burn eyes. I’m also crazy sensitive and acne prone and I get rashes easily and so far my skin hasn’t reacted, if anything, my skin looks great and glowy. It smells like traditional sunscreen which I don’t hate but don’t love, certainly doesn’t smell like onions tho! 😂 I love and it’s definitely worth trying!! ❤
I'm definitely getting it once I finish my current ones. My amazing vegan European SPF 15 moisturizers will hold me over through the winter. Especially knowing Cassandra made sure it's cruelty free. It would have been even better if she got something from sales :)
This is by far my favorite sunscreen! I weirdly love the smell. It smells… clean? Sweet? I can’t explain it. It’s a VERY light scent too, so obviously this is still fragrance free.
Whats the weather like for you? I live in Florida (USA) weather, and this sunscreen feels emollient and somewhat oily. LIke any ol Neutrogena drugstore sunscreen, not one designed for acne-prone skin.
Hello Cassandra, thank you for this video and your honesty. As I commented in another video, I wanted to love this product, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. It felt super oily on my skin and it sting my eyes even if I didn’t put it around my eyes. Unfortunately, I won’t be purchasing this sunscreen again. However, I’m glad to know this works for other people. Good luck and I hope you continue creating other products.
I have been using your purple Onion Newpair Sunscreen SPF40 for almost two months and love it (my reorder via Amazon arrived a few days ago--Stylevana takes far too long)!! There is no onion smell; it is not greasy nor is it drying; it blends in sheer without a gray or white cast and blurs my imperfections; it works great on my 76 year old skin and I've had no skin irritation (I am not acne or blackhead prone). In summary, it is excellent and thank you for working so hard in its creation!
Thank you for this honest video! I have the purple protector and I really like it. It really blends in nicely with no white cast and the colour is so cute! I have dry acne prone skin. Now in the winter it’s perfect because it gives me extra hydration and the dewy finish helps my makeup not to crack or look dry. Not sure if I‘ll like it for the summer because the super dewy finish combined with a sweaty face could be a little too much for my liking 😅 But we‘ll see! One think I wished you would’ve talked about is the octocrylene controversy. I‘ve seen it criticised as potentially unhealthy and also some countries banned it for reef safety. Would’ve been nice to get a bit more scientific information on that to see if it’s legit or just fear mongering.
I love this purple protector. No burning eyes, blends in well, no sunscreen smell and no onion smell. I will definitely purchase again.I wish it came in bigger quantities.
I ordered this sunscreen around the time of your first video on it. I like it. To me, it has a sweet scent that is pleasant. It stings my eyes, pretty much all chemical sunscreens with the ‘old generation’ filters do, so I wasn’t surprised about that. I find it to be a touch too shiny for my personal liking. My skin type is oily/combo, acne-prone, and sensitive. I can make it work in a minimal morning routine, after washing my face, just a toner and then this sunscreen, it’s not too shiny. Love how passionate you are Cassandra! 💜💜💜
I was surprised at how emollient it was. I thought it would be natural to natural-matte finish as she markets it for acne-prone skin. Could you share your favorite sunscreen? Im struggling to find something that isn't greasy.
@@tedoymisojos lately my favorites sunscreens are the Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica SPF 50 PA++++ for all year round. the Eucerin Sun Gel-Cream Oil Control SPF 50+ (European version from Care To Beauty) for summertime. And I personally found that the Isntree Natural Sun Cream SPF 50 PA++++ was very mattifying on my skin but still provided moisture which I liked a lot. It’s a mineral sunscreen so it may leave a cast. I was able to work it in well enough to pull it off. Didn’t love it in my facial hair if I remember correctly.
I honestly love it! I picked it up while it was on sale on Amazon and I am extremely impressed! It wears so nicely, probably better than any other sunscreen I own and that says a lot because I have a TON lol and it doesn't sting my eyes which I have a lot of trouble with with other sunscreens and I usually avoid my immediate eye area because of it. You knocked it out of the park with this one Cassandra 💜🌞
I love this sunscreen!! it makes me happy on hard days cuz its pretty and i loooove the scent! and yeah my acne seems to be less on my face. As a glasses girly i appreciate the colour cuz i dont wear my glasses when i apply my skincare (obvi)but i can see the purple and where it is on my skin
Dont worry about the purple, people! Purple is a color that's put in a lot of face primer because it smooths skin tone so beautifully without looking like there's anything on the skin. Purple primers vanish into very dark skins and very light skins. Bet this does, too.
I absolutely love the product. It does wonders for my skin and it also protects against the sun 🌞 congratulations Cassandra you have helped me so much, I love your product and I just wanted to let you know and I will go to you for my skin care and I have a skin care routine I’ve bought KB I’ve bought a lot of inky list!
I loved it and I gave one to a female coworker who I knew uses suncreen. I put some of mine in the back of her hand and she loved it, so I ordered her one.
Your promo photo on Amazon is gorgeous. And I am proud of you. And your product. As a girl with acne scars, I appreciate the onion. Could you make a mineral sunscreen in the future? My face tends to break out/react less with zinc. But …. that is tricky to work with …. 🤔 Believe it may be a common issue. 🤗 Get it girl!
Just ordered it as a Christmas gift to myself 🖤 you have no idea how excited I am to have something made by you Cassandra !!!! You inspired me to take care of my skin and educate myself
I would like to say that I’ve been purchasing this sunscreen for a while now since they came out. I absolutely love it gives my skin aluminous glow and my skin has been so healthy.
It makes me look oily and feels a bit heavy. This level of emollience is usually marketed for normal to dry skin. I was surprised. Do you live in cool, dry weather? That usually makes sunscreens feel less greasy and wet.
It's frustrating to think that the brand used your image to sell their product and that you're not getting profit from it. I know it's expensive, but eventually you should launch your own skincare brand. It'll be number one for so many people. That's for sure.
I bought it on Amazon. I used it for the first time yesterday and it is light and moisturizing. Need to use it again to see if it is a keeper, but it still is worth the cost and is very soothing and moisturizing
The sunscreen is lovely and soft finish! I bought one, used it that day and my Differin sensitized skin didn't react, so I ordered a second. I like the original watery sun gel, but the finish on the purple newpair is nicer for my currently combo/dry skin. It wears beautiful under makeup, I'm obsessed. I told all my skincare friends to get one the first week lmaoo
@@tedoymisojosthe original hylau sun gel is way dewier on the skin. I don't think the newpair has enough moisture on its own for even combo skin, I apply multiple hydrating layers otherwise differin would cause flake city with the cooler weather 😅
@lelalu101 i live in Florida (USA) weather. I find newpair to be VERY moisturizing, and looks dewy and a bit oily on me. I either wear nothing under it, or just use a toner. It makes my makeup not last as long as usual . When i have traveled to colder states, I noticed the greasy sunscreens I used on my neck/chest looked a lot better on the face. I have Paulas Choice sunscreens made for oily skin and some made for dry skin. Newpair is much closer to the one for dry skin. Having said this. Im wearing it daily now that the weather is cooler. I wont be using it May through November though. Its gets very hot here.
Another potential plus for the purple tint of that sunscreen is that it can cancel the yellowy tints on your face to a minor degree. Basically works like a color corrector in a sense.
Cass is the reason I wear SPF everyday! ☀️ I have this sunscreen on the way (from Amazon) because what I’ve used damaged my hair (from neck application) and is is brutal on my eyelids. ALSO I paid $20.07 with prime. Updates soon!!!
I haven’t used it yet but it looks like a really cool product my only wish is if it was a little cheaper… but I’m sure Cassandra pushed to get it as low as possibly without taking away from the quality
I love the sunscreen Is the first one that did not cause me break outs or itchy skin. It makes my skin feel soft and not greasy! I need to restock my supplies because it always gets sold out, I have tanned skin and also blends in so well! I really love it.
I love this sunscreen. I have oily, clog prone skin. I'm on my 4th/5th tube. I do find if you use it every 2/3 hours throughout the day, it does feel a little greasy on my skin, but that's the same with most sunscreens, it builds up. As for the smell, it kinda smells like the really old sunscreens I used as a kid. They say you can associate scents with memories and for me, It takes me back to Barbados when I was 14. If I was to describe the scent, it's kinda like baby powder or baby lotion
Cassandra, I am a mother of next generation of skintelectual butterfly My daughter has been suffering from keloid scars from post operations Now that she is a teenager it's becoming psychological barrier for developing worthiness We tried sergical methods with not much success Using your sunscreen for less than 14 days helped with her skin tightness and her keloid had changed colors towards less visibility in expressions Thank you for your participation in creating this sunscreen
I never thought I would say that I love a sunscreen… but I LOVE this sunscreen!! 💖💜 I tired isntree because of your vids and I’m so grateful that you put so much effort into making this high-quality product. I hope that this is a forever product and not just a limited time item- because I refuse to use anything else other than this from now on.
I love this sunscreen!! My skin is a huge fan 😄 this also smells just kind of fresh..no weird sunscreen or mineral smells. The whole Isntree onion line is beautiful and smells NOTHING like onions! Don’t miss out on great products bc of the name 😊
Hi Cassandra! I wanted to love this product so bad but my skin just didn’t like it. It made me so greasy and my skin so irritated, so I’m using it on my body now! Definitely not a bad product, just didn’t fit my skin!
Cass, I would like to make a big request… so just like you, I love purple 💜 It’s not just a love but it’s also a lifestyle for me. Now, the request is can you put together a huge list of skin care products in the color purple that you can recommend? For example, this onion SPF will be on that list. I know you like the Ole Henriksen facial oil. Whether it’s packaging or the actual color of the product. I think it would be really interesting to see what lands in your purple list. Thank you!
There is a purple neogen surmedic tone up sunscreen. It’s pearly though and soooo heavily fragranced. But both the packing and product is purple and cute.
I’d love to try it, I love their original sunscreen. I actually love that it’s purple and is made with onions , why not!? Better onions 🧅 than snail 🐌 mucin ! ❤
Unfortunately I can’t use this because I get polymorphous light eruptions and chemical sunscreens don’t seem to work as well as mineral in preventing breakouts. It looks like a great product though and I’m proud of you Cassandra!
My Review: 25Yr Old South Asian Male, I have Oily, Acne Prone, Clogged Pore skin. I have been using the sunscreen for about 6months. Did it sting when it accidentally got into my eyes? - yes it definitely did but I don't really know many things that don't sting when it touches my eyes. Did it bother me? - kind of but that was because I used to rub my eyes it's not the products fault but my own. Does it smell like Onion? - No not at all it smells like any normal chemical sunscreen a little flowerish actually but it's nice. Does it suit my skin? - Yes I absolutely love it. It's one of my favourite sunscreens from the ingredients to the feel of it to even the reapplication it's not heavy at all. It's slightly oily but that also goes away after a few minutes of application. Does It Blend Properly? Any White cast? - Yes absolutely it blends perfectly well and it doesn't take a long time either. There is no white cast on my face I'm a Fitzpatrick Level 2-3 I think If you have been watching Cassandra's channel you already know how over qualified my fellow Cyster is to help assist in a creation of a product. I trust her for good credible reasons and I love her authenticity, truth and no BS approach to educating us. If you like it, use it, if you haven't try it, it doesn't hurt and if you don't like it then don't use it. It's as simple as that. *Important*- No matter what patch test, everyone's skin is different for so many reasons. To Cassandra: Girl thank you so much for giving us such an amazing product. Me, my friends and family have genuinely loved it so far and we try to get our hands on it whenever possible. Love you, sending you lots of love and hugs!
The one thing I wish you didn’t put in here it is kaolin :( as someone with dry skin it does make it feel a little drying on my face so unfortunately I probably will not buy the full size but I love the idea of this sunscreen & im happy I got to try it
This sunscreen sounds really cool! I especially like your use of the color as an indicator for if it's been rubbed in enough. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to tocopherol and the USFDA approved chemical protectors, so I can't use it, or most sunscreen.
I am a huge fan of you and have been watching your videos for awhile! I just bought this sunscreen, so I can’t wait to try it! I have tan skin with combo sensitive, acne prone skin, so I can’t wait to see how it works for me! I have my sunscreen now that works well for me, but I am always willing to try something new!
Seems like it works for most people, but for me, the finish was quite greasy 😢(even with a thin line of it on 1 finger). For me, it doesn’t sting the eyes, but I have to use very little of it to not be sticky everywhere since it doesn’t really blend/rub into(?) my skin like other Korean sunscreens I’ve tried (Skin 1004 cent all for example)… I wonder if it’s the skincare I use under it? (roundlab toner, followed by a vitamin c serum) But I doubt it’s that since even if I rub it on the back of my hand, the texture is pretty greasy. I purchased a tube on YesStyle, but maybe my batch was bad or something.😅 I’ll try it again once I run out of the current one, but it’s not for me so far… I really wanted to love it, but it’s just so sticky… EDIT: For reference, I have combination skin, but not too oily
Hey Cassandra been watching you for a while! I saw your sunscreen on Olive Young! I am a big follower of Director Pi for years now! For those who may not know Director Pi, is a former beauty editor who used to host the Korean beauty shows After School Beauty Bible and Get It Beauty. She's a self-described "cosmetic ingredient analyst" who is interested in components and ingredient formulations in a wide range of cosmetics, not simply Korean ones! She also examines and compares items from France, the United States, and Germany. She has also been one of the big pricing forces for pushing for the Korean government and KFDA to hold makeup manufacturers to better standards following an incident where she noticed that quite a few Korean brands were lying about their SPF amounts. They threatened to sue her if she continued pushing for things but she continued to educate and push for quality checks and the KFDA, if I remember correctly found that she was right, and held those companies accountable. Though it has been a while, these pushes from her made companies like Olive Young that sells globally now and carries your sunscreen ensure that rigorous standards are proven before they can carry an item in their store. She makes a video talking about it I do think it is ENG subtitled for those that do not know Korean here is the link if you'd like to watch it: th-cam.com/video/a-9KoSXLpxI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SVSZdVZOuQf7yslD This makes me strongly believe in your sunscreen even more, I have very dry skin so I wish you had a more moisturizing one if possible one day ^^
I got it on Amazon black Friday for about $11 and I love it!!💜💜💜💜💜 is not only my favorite color but it’s light feels so nice and I honestly don’t smell any fragrance. I love the fact that, it gives me a dewy look without looking greasy. I have combination skin and it doesn’t break me out. Overall really liked it. 💜💜💜
It makes me look dewy and oily. I always powder it down, I cant go out like that. Its feels a bit too heavy too. IMHO it should've been more matte given that its meant for acne prone skin, which is more often than not oily or combination.
I'm Sensitive and dry skin with acne.I try to use this sunscreen because of cassandra.I'm worry at first due to my dry skin.Guess what!I love it so so much,it's give me dewy look and comfortable, not drying up my skin and causes of any breakout.Greeting from Malaysia❤❤❤
I was soooo excited to get this, I have oily acne prone skin but it makes me look sooooo greasy 😔 I still use it tho, I'm a SAHM mom and don't go out much, my skin loves it its just too greasy 😢
my only thing about this and the Isntree sunscreens in general is I wiiiish at least one of them didn’t have niacinamide in it. It breaks out my acne prone, sensitive skin so bad and I wish I could try one of these sunscreens ☹️
@@cristinadelavilla7989 It's truly such a struggle. It's in so many products. My skin is more oily and whenever I'm looking for a more "essence" or "fluid" sunscreen I can almost always count on them to have niacinamide in them :(
@@xFolkmore niacinamide is an effective skin lightening compound that works by inhibiting melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes. Asians and their obsesión with withening Skin have discovered that using melanin keeps them from tanning. It's in 99,999% of Korean sunscreens. And that's also bad cos to be protected form the Sun, you actually want your skin to tan, melanin protects your skin from UV light. I recommend you trying EU sunscreens. They are based on the newest UV filters (that as a matter of fact have been developed in Europe, Kbeauty just copies) ø, are free of Niacinamide and contain Antioxidants to further protect your skin. If youre looking for something light, Caudali has amazing ones.
Purple sunscreens are pretty common in Asian brands. One of the leading sunscreen brands, Anessa, has a purple sunscreen in their line every time the line gets renewed. I don't see why people are so suprised by a purple sunscreen? It functions both as a sunscreen and a color correcting primer.
I m using it currently with other products in this line ,onion toner and serum. I love the texture of the sunscreen and color and amazed how smoothly it blends into skin but my only concern is, it does sting my eyes.. only the sunscreen. The toner and serum doesnt. Wish my eyes weren't sensitive to the sunscreen, otherwise i would hv continued using it .
Well I’ve got to try this out! I really like the Blue Lizard sunscreen myself but it’s pretty greasy and I would love to find something… less greasy lol I’m the whitest white can get so white cast is basically foundation for me 🙃
It's more likely not on store shelves because stores' buyers aren't convinced it's a product they can sell enough of to make it worth their while. A lot of really good products are only available on line for that reason 🙂
I got to know onion bulb extract is good for acnes and scars. That sunscreen is formulated by my favorite Kbeauty skincare brand + my big acne sister? I was sold immediately and can't wait to use it. I know it's going to be great
Skincare from Asia is very much "contraband" in a similar way that cosplay contact lenses from Malaysia are. They are not technically legal to buy and resell because only optometrists can sign off on prescription sales of eye contacts in the USA, even if they are plano prescription because of things like eye base curve measurements. That said, hundreds of cosplayers professional and hobbyists buy eye contacts from overseas in small orders that never get confiscated by customs, and basically hope and pray that they were made with the same safety standards of the US contact lenses or better. I try to not use them very often and pay close attention to how my eyes feel when i wear them because that is a "buyer beware" situation, and try to import the ones made in Japanese eye contacts labs over some random sketchy brand.
I have to wear sunscreen (chemo made me allergic to the slightest UV) but I have to choose between this and Mr Butters fruits and veggies. I just can't afford it because he always comes first... floof brat😊
I couldnt use it i brought new pair sunscreen and the hylaronic acid watery sun gel i hust like the hylaronic one more new pair felt bit waxy and sticky on my combo skin type 😮
I bought it on Stylevana, whwn it came out and I was really excited. Unfortunately it burned in my eyes so bad, I had to stop using it. I've never had that problem with any other K-Beauty-Sunscreen (and I tried quite a lot), so that was really disappointing 😕
It uses old generations filters at most (I guess with the idea it could be sold in America in stores), that’s probably why, and not the newest combinations that we all know and love in Korean sunscreen. Isntree came up with spf 50 onion sunscreen on new filters so I’d be trying this one
I got 4 bottles because I was super excited. However, it does sting my eyes. I am giving it away to a friend to try, and if it stings her eyes too, I am trashing it.
Homosolate and octocrylene not very much for sensitive skin... at least not for mine. I really wanted to try it but I know those filters would make my skin sting badly. If there was an update for European market using some of the bis-whatever filters or something really suitable for sesnsitive skin I would try.
I'd love to put it on my face but I think I'll have to wait till it's spring🤔 in my country it's like -5°C during day and -10 to -15°C at night and generally extremly dry so my skin prefers rather thick stuff. I hope this nightmare called winter will end soon and I'll be able to enjoy this lil onion 😁
Hey Cassandra & Team. I'm wondering why octocrylene has been used in this as a filter? It has become a really controversial ingredient here in Germany and many people, including me, are utterly confused about it. Is it dangerous or not? Please advise! Thank you for your work, I've learned so much watching your content. ♥️
as a biology and toxicology major the data for octocrylene isn’t solid yet and so far the data shows that’s it’s generally safe for humans. but I agree that while we cannot for sure say it is complete safe and free of adverse effects it’s still under research and only time will tell if it should still be used. I’m personally not getting this sunscreen cuz it has octinoxate which has substantial data to show its toxicity to humans and other animals.
Why did you make this sunscreen so emollient? I cant wear anything under it beyond toner. I skipped toner today to see if I can cut down on the heaviness/oiliness. Girl its for acne-prone skin, aka combination to oily skin. I don't get it. I was using the Youth Extending spf 50 from Paulas choice before, and that is a bit dewy, but it's not oily or heavy. A much better option (though less creamy). I also prefer a water cream layered with the ELF Invisible spf, a matte, primer-like sunscreen (Not the most luxurious experience, but it works).
I LOVE your videos! I have been watching them since a year now. My skin health has actually improved because of the knowledge that you have been providing. I would love to purchase this sunscreen as I have acne prone skin but I can not seem to purchase it. I am from India, is there a website that ships worldwide? Sending a lot of LOVE across! ;)
The sunscreen is too emollient/oily. The Beauty of Joseon is less oily looking, for anyone considering this one (and for contrast). The round lab birch juice is also less oily looking but feels more heavy throughout the day ( for me). I can wear it by powdering it down with setting powder, but its not ideal to reapply because it is a bit oily looking (not velvety like she suggests). That said if you live in a dry, cold city, it will def look a lot better on oily skin.
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, also known as Octinoxate, irritates my eyes. I stop using Japanese sunscreens because most use that UV filter. The onion sunscreen sounds interesting, but I can’t use it on my face.
I absolutely love your sunscreen! When I first put it on, it gave me the dreaded greasy/thick feeling that every oily, acne prone person fears. But within a few minutes, it dried down SOOOO beautifully. It makes my face feel so soft and smooth. I’ve reordered it multiple times 🥰
I'm so sorry someone on your team didn't act in your best interest. ❤ I can't imagine anyone who has ever watched more than a few of your videos questioned why the sunscreen was such a pretty shade of purple.

@@LookingForMySelf24 eltamd uv clear is the only sunscreen I can use around my eyes without stinging
do the other sunscreens from that brand sting you too? i’m scared to try it out
Cassandra you are a breath of fresh air when it comes to transparency and onesty. Thank you for taking the time to explain to us all of these notions clearly and honestly.
I bought it on stylevana. My skin didnt liked it at all, but my boyfriend uses it now and it works good for him.
I immediately was shocked to hear you weren’t getting paid for the sales, and thought to myself “dang who dropped the ball on that??”
@@tedoymisojoswhat matte or watery sunscreen do you use?
What is your skin type? I have combination skin type, and i Don't like too much oily sunscreen
Thanks for the review. I am a reactive girl always on the search for non irritating formula. So your review helps. 💕
I'm definitely getting it once I finish my current ones. My amazing vegan European SPF 15 moisturizers will hold me over through the winter.
Especially knowing Cassandra made sure it's cruelty free. It would have been even better if she got something from sales :)
You lost me at AOC
I love this stuff so much!! I got all my friends w/teens (acne time) to start on it! We are all obsessed with it!!! Thank you for creating it!!
You addressed every concern very well. I'm completely comfortable purchasing this cruelty free sunscreen.
Can I just say: your integrity is flawless. I bought the sunscreen and love it.
@@SuuupaaaChip Thank You!
@@tedoymisojos you’re welcome my pleasure!
Was just able to order on Amazon! Love ISNTREE sunscreen! Thanks for all you do! 😘
🤗
Get it girl!
Just ordered it as a Christmas gift to myself 🖤 you have no idea how excited I am to have something made by you Cassandra !!!! You inspired me to take care of my skin and educate myself
This is one of my fave sunscreens now! Been using it since May 2024
I would like to say that I’ve been purchasing this sunscreen for a while now since they came out.
I can't wait to buy it!! Thank you so much for everything you are doing, you are so amazing ❤I learned so much from you ❤
It's frustrating to think that the brand used your image to sell their product and that you're not getting profit from it.
I know it's expensive, but eventually you should launch your own skincare brand. It'll be number one for so many people. That's for sure.
Yes
I bought it on Amazon. I used it for the first time yesterday and it is light and moisturizing. Need to use it again to see if it is a keeper, but it still is worth the cost and is very soothing and moisturizing
The sunscreen is lovely and soft finish! I bought one, used it that day and my Differin sensitized skin didn't react, so I ordered a second. I like the original watery sun gel, but the finish on the purple newpair is nicer for my currently combo/dry skin. It wears beautiful under makeup, I'm obsessed. I told all my skincare friends to get one the first week lmaoo
Yeah, its perfect for dry skin. Wich it shouldn't be because its meant for acne-prone skin which is more commonly oily and combination.
Love it, feels like a moisturizer. No scent in my opinion.
Love under my makeup routine. I have noticed less breakouts during periods 😊
While it does sting my eyes a little I still like it, doesn't break me out and makes my skin glow
Just purchased on Amazon. Still available at the time of this post. I dont have oily skin, but I'm a redhead and stoked to try this! 💙💙
Cassandra,
I am a mother of next generation of skintelectual butterfly
My daughter has been suffering from keloid scars from post operations
Now that she is a teenager it's becoming psychological barrier for developing worthiness
We tried sergical methods with not much success
Using your sunscreen for less than 14 days helped with her skin tightness and her keloid had changed colors towards less visibility in expressions
Thank you for your participation in creating this sunscreen
Just got it and I adooooore it!!!!! Even better than the original!!!
Thank you Cassandra! I hope this will become available in Belgium so I can try it
I never thought I would say that I love a sunscreen… but I LOVE this sunscreen!! 💖💜 I tired isntree because of your vids and I’m so grateful that you put so much effort into making this high-quality product. I hope that this is a forever product and not just a limited time item- because I refuse to use anything else other than this from now on.
Been using it for while and love it! Not greasy but a nice glow. No sting, no breakouts. And my skin tone is “tan” in makeup and it goes invisible
Hate to say I agree and had intense sunscreen smell.Wanted to love it but did not.
Me too. Ill have to see if it makes for a good hand cream.
Smells like a moisturizer like you said! It does sting my eyes though 😢 I still use it, just not on my eyelids.
I just ordered my 2nd bottle and I absolutely love it. My skin is really easy to irritate and this doesn’t at all
I’d love to try it, I love their original sunscreen.
My Review:
25Yr Old South Asian Male, I have Oily, Acne Prone, Clogged Pore skin.
There is no white cast on my face I'm a Fitzpatrick Level 2-3 I think
If you have been watching Cassandra's channel you already know how over qualified my fellow Cyster is to help assist in a creation of a product.
I trust her for good credible reasons and I love her authenticity, truth and no BS approach to educating us.
If you like it, use it, if you haven't try it, it doesn't hurt and if you don't like it then don't use it. It's as simple as that.

I love it. Accidentally got it in my eyes and it did sting. My eyes are very sensitive though
Same! Definitely love it but I got to be super careful around the eyes
That's because of the old US approved organic cheap filters.
@@nenalyzed yes 😊
Love the transparency and honesty ❤❤
I purchased a tube on YesStyle, but maybe my batch was bad or something.😅 I’ll try it again once I run out of the current one, but it’s not for me so far… I really wanted to love it, but it’s just so sticky…
EDIT: For reference, I have combination skin, but not too oily
It was greasy for me too
Hey Cassandra been watching you for a while! She makes a video talking about it I do think it is ENG subtitled for those that do not know Korean here is the link if you'd like to watch it: th-cam.com/video/a-9KoSXLpxI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SVSZdVZOuQf7yslD This makes me strongly believe in your sunscreen even more, I have very dry skin so I wish you had a more moisturizing one if possible one day ^^
One huge issue with her is that she demonized/demonizes ingredients like mineral oil, petroleum jelly, parabens.

I was soooo excited to get this, I have oily acne prone skin but it makes me look sooooo greasy 😔 I still use it tho, I'm a SAHM mom and don't go out much, my skin loves it its just too greasy 😢
It smells like Brazilian sunscreens I used to apply when I was a kid! 💜
What was the point of using US filters if you still can't sell it in the US stores?
my only thing about this and the Isntree sunscreens in general is I wiiiish at least one of them didn’t have niacinamide in it. It breaks out my acne prone, sensitive skin so bad and I wish I could try one of these sunscreens ☹️
Niacinimide is in everything lately. it dries out my skin and irritates it so badly inflamming my couperose. It´s so annoying.
I really like the Blue Lizard sunscreen myself but it’s pretty greasy and I would love to find something… less greasy lol I’m the whitest white can get so white cast is basically foundation for me 🙃
It is really hard to create a good mineral sunscreen. I can see you producing the best formulation in the future. 💖 I'm excited for that.
As far as I know, or the INCi I can find on the internet (EU websites) this is a chemical sunscreen.
Brown girl here. It never absorbs and makes your skin look a weird color. Probably just a white person sun screen also it stings
I know it's going to be great
For me, it almost has a hint of like baby powder haha! Its definitely does not smell like other sunscreens.
I love it!! I buy it on Korean pages where I live (mexico)
I just can't afford it because he always comes first... floof brat😊
I bought it and I LOVE it!
Consider donating instead of trashing if it doesn't work for your friend either. Lots of women's shelters will take unopened skincare and cosmetics.
just sell it..
I got it. Had no issues actually. Smells good? Not smelly but… like the GOOD part of the onion? Purple happiness?
Homosolate and octocrylene not very much for sensitive skin... at least not for mine. I really wanted to try it but I know those filters would make my skin sting badly. If there was an update for European market using some of the bis-whatever filters or something really suitable for sesnsitive skin I would try.
The smell is a bit sweet, I like it very much!
I want to know about that story! I'm dying to try this sunscreen, but I haven't been able to get it in mexico. Hopefully one day ❤
I'd love to put it on my face but I think I'll have to wait till it's spring🤔 in my country it's like -5°C during day and -10 to -15°C at night and generally extremly dry so my skin prefers rather thick stuff.
Sending a lot of LOVE across! ;)
I wish we had it here in Mauritius
Do people think they're gonna get thrown in the poke if they buy this sunscreen or something? I don't understand why "legality" is a controversy.
I wish it was an Spf 50 😢
No smell but yes it does absolutely does sting the eyes . I have to make sure its no where near my eyes.
I'm surprised it isn't labeled as vegan in most stores I have seen it
