I just wanted to say how much I appreciate that you do talk about the “hard stuff” and details like travel time/dog sitter/getting ready etc. that go in to making career choices and weighing the pros/cons. As someone in the industry myself this is the real stuff that usually isn’t publicly talked about for fear of just what you said, being seen as ungrateful or whining about work but it’s far from all glamour and bright lights and it’s so refreshing to see someone show a slightly more realistic and nuanced lens into what it is like to work in theatre. Your candor was so refreshing to see and I think it helps also show people not in the industry what it is sometimes like. keep on keeping on :)

@@itskatharinequinn absolutely! It feels like a chess board at times, trying to weigh the choices of each move and how to set yourself up for future “moves” and what do you sacrifice now for a gain later. A lot of my non theatre friends where floored to hear how long my days can be from leaving my apartment to getting home and the chores and logistics that I have to navigate in my life before even setting foot in the rehearsal room/theatre. Plus subway time and buffer time for delays. I loved seeing you not shy away from that reality of it.

Thank you for for speaking about the hard decisions... I'm currently going through big life / career changes and it is refreshing to see that level of honesty. I would love to push more but very conscious of previous mental health issues, so always wary of burnout as I know this can cause episodes - take care of yourself xx
You too! I feel like post shutdown folks have been more open about navigating work/life balance and juggling mental health with it all, but it's still not talked about enough. Stay well on your end, too and thanks for the good wishes

But living with Conservative parents they say how NYC is so dangerous right now. A) what are safe neighborhoods to live that are close to Broadway and the studios you audition at? (I’m AEA)
