It's a little hard to avoid given Go Nagai INVENTED the Super Robot, Magical Girl, Ecchi, and Action/Horror anime genres as they exist today. All of which are the core elements of most famous Gainax anime.
Why there has never been a crossover between their work or their sucessors at Trigger is beyond me I mean imagine a Eva Devilman crossover, or Gunbuster meets Mazinger or Getter robo granted we get this in these games but never in an anime!
Demi-Fiend of Time they universe would break from sheer awesomeness if they tried that, because getter robo g created the gainax pose and gunbuster made it popular, therefor two gainax poses would create an unstoppable god

You might wanna make sure you're actually on 480p and not a lower resolution, it's been happening to me too and it's usually cause it starts out on a lower resolution.

the buster emperor probably exists in the gunbuster universe. it looks like dragon, pose inspired by dragon, has the getter beam, the tomahawk...
I think noriko could double as a female ryoma also adding that she has those tomahawks
