D Wade is definitely one of the best to ever play professionally. He's in the same tier of talent as Kobe, Lebron, Carmelo, etc. I've never seen anyone but Wade block the fuck out of dunks the way he does. His defense and offensive skills are phenomenal. I almost forgot how good D Wade was/is. Young Wade, like all youngsters, was so much fun to watch. He's still an amazing player but with Lebron still in his prime there's no need for D Wade to show out or work as hard. The teamwork between D Wade and Lebron is amazing and that is why they are such a phenomenal team. The playoffs will be fun to watch this year.

d wade in his prime could literally dunk on anybody I mean for a guy who's 6'4(which is decent shooting guard size) can get up he plays as sg but under the rim you'd think he was a center wit those explosive hops
It's about his right knee. He had his meniscus surgically removed the year before he entered the league. So after all the years of wear and tear he is having chronical knee problems because his bones are grinding against each other with no knee cartilage.
There are a lot of people that have many theories of why d-wade is on the decline. My opinion is that he aged naturally after his meniscus surgery before he entered the league. What I mean is from a skills and athleticism perspective he is not OVERLY unlike the old d-wade right now. Even today he is as fast as any guard in the league, he just picks his spots to score and do athletic shit. The reason for this is because he has been extremely injury prone from the start of his career, even the season he averaged 30ppg he was injured for a fair bit of that stretch as well. He has never had a season where he had been perfectly healthy. Even when Lebron was in Miami and they won a couple championships together wade was never truly healthy compared to his old self, people forget about his hamstring pulls and ankle injuries during that stretch and the reason for this is because they ended up winning championships. If one were to look back in time they would realize that the heat barely won in 2013 due to wade practically playing on one semi decent surgerically repaired knee while the other had bone bruises. He has had more than his fair share of injuries but the one that really set him back in his pro career was the shoulder injury in 07, from there he was never really the same d-wade. He got stronger and faster, but he didn't have the fierce cat-like athleticism he had when they won the championship in 06. From then on he has been extremely aware of what moves cause the most injuries and hes stopped taking dives all the time. Then LeBron came onto Miami and he stopped doing things that made us call him flash in the first place. Right now, he is just trying to score as much as he can with the way he has developed his game without too much athleticism needed. But from an athletic perspective, he hasn't lost much speed, he lost some bounce but that's because hes getting old and that happens naturally. He is still strong as hell, but hes just more careful with what he does because the last thing the heat need is for him to blow his hammy out and sit for 10 straight games. He still has the speed, but he chooses not to use it all the time.
Old age and injuries took away from his time to workout. He will get it back working out with Tim Grover. We are beginning to prove age has almost nothing to do with athletics(people in their 60s-70s are becoming as fit and strong as men in their 20s), and that the only real factors, are how effective your workouts are, and what you put in your body. Kobe Bryant defied age in the 2012-2013 season with his incredible dunks and speed and age 34. I'm confident Dwyane will do the same now that he has to with more of a load on his shoulders
