- What is the BEST minnow trap bait!? In this video I test chicken liver and bread. I want to see which minnow trap bait catches the most minnows. I put chicken liver in one minnow trap and bread in another minnow trap. I put both minnow traps side by side in a tiny creek. I left the traps in the creek for about 24 hours. I returned to the creek after 24 hours to check the traps and see which bait caught the most minnows. Let's see if we can find the BEST minnow trap bait!

yea i have same problem as gary my traps get stolen so i sit with them for about 4 hours while fishing for micro species also great video i use tuna in a can cause you can keep reusing just cut some slits in the can

I like to keep all my bluegill and crappie heads after I fillet them and guts for catfish cut bait in the spring . It works good too ...

Fish Hawk love to have a creek like that around here... we put out traps and go back and they are either stole or threw over the hill
How do you hold the bread in the trap to keep it from disintegrating and floating away?

You would do better with the Gees Made in the USA silver minnow traps..

I have a creek that goes through my back yard. I feed the minnows bread every day, but I wonder how good it is for them on a constant basis.

No need for 24hrs. 30 mins if just fine.
Get you a couple glow sticks from the dollar store and put them in one trap and hang it from a tree around nightfall and let it catch bugs and set it out against bread

Ok u went trout fishin then decided to bait 2 minnow traps to see which is best not to use any of the minnows for bait............um wtf am i the only one wondering WTF??
The whole minnow trapping thing is confusing. It's not legal to trap minnows and then transport them to another body of water here in Illinoiz. Isn't that what you do when you buy them legally in town then drive two counties over and fish? Maybe I'm missing something. Are store bought minnows sterile or something? (Sarcasm should be detected)
I'm right there with you. It's all confusing and weird. That's one reason I don't even bother fishing with them. I use artificial 99% of the time and the other 1% I use nightcrawlers.
