Dave Mackintosh, the ex drummer of Dragonforce, didn´t play his bassdrums for years. Live and studio there were triggerpads behind the kicks. You can spot them in this "DragonForce - The Making of 'The Power Within' Episode 2" (no bassdrums) and on the meinl cymbal videos. And many others don´t use real kicks in the studio. Specially while playing extreme metal.
technically you can play with a practice pad but you need some form of resistance, be it that pad, a bass drum or a couch. bass drum still feels most natural though. also has the positive side that you won't sound like having picked up the sticks two days ago when having to play a real kickdrum all of a sudden
@@DEVAULT. for show. People wouldn't like the sight. The same reason they use sometimes walls of empty guitar cabinets. Same reason many drummers use a double pedal, still have two kick drums on stage. For show!
Why would George spend more time playing the toms in this video? Smh
To demonstrate that the (different) low vibrations from the toms do not cause any mistriggers.
Man you are a monster playing drums !!! Congratulations from Brazil
I'm really close to ordering these! Could you guys make a video on how to set it up? Preferably on the Demon Drives :)
The FootBlasters come with an installation manual

Goodmorning everyone. This is your horse from Nile lolololXD
The best triggers of them all
Does anything hit the actual bass drum head ?
So you wouldn’t necessarily even need a bass drum for these? for recording purposes..
technically, no...but what is your beater going to rebound off? you'll play faster with a bass drum
This seems like you don't need bass drums anymore?

@@rockdahaus .... if they don't bring bass drums in the studio anymore, why exactly do they bring them on stage?

The marc Marquez t shirt 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Sure about this Marquez shirt?? ahah cheers bro. Stefano - Bloodtruth
What's the song in the beginning?
It´s from his Solo Project. The song is called "Treasures of Nemesis" and the album is called Invictus. You`ll find it on Spotify!
hear some Cobham lineage in this clip
Personally don't like triggers. That low pitch click sounds tacky. Much prefer the boom of acoustic bass
Then load up the "boom" sound in the drum module. The trigger doesn't care what sound you choose
@@wackenkai or... internally mic the drum...
@Malware 240 bpm? 🤣 shit son I can't even get close to 200
@Malware My perfect bass sound would be, if you listen to The Stage drums only 😍 that boom
Why bother with a drum kit....
What?
@@warrenoids cus you dont need a bass drum
(Lloyd Rees) He said “drum kit” which is illogical.
Lloyd Rees where are you gonna get the rebound off of? Don’t tell me a mute bass drum pad bc that is still a bass drum
Demonstrating a kick trigger, only playing the toms. I’m a fan of George but this was kinda annoying.
So wait... you bend it up til you're just hitting it with the bottom of your footboard? Um ok
Yeah, so?
@@warrenoids Might as well ditch your drum and beater entirely and play the pedal from rock band video game
Agreed, but George got microphones in his bass drums, so he mix both.
Non-drum mounted triggers are old news. Is this the first time you're hearing about them?
