I know exactly what you mean, i was really hesitant to dive into these girls deeper at first too. That said, it was definitly worth every second. I think the solos a great way to get to know the girls one by one and provide a good base to go from, but you can't go wrong with a guide first either.
heres a random suggestion, because you liked girls planet 999 so much you might wanna check out a group called billlie with their song "GingaMingaYo", first of its a great song and the performance is amazing, and second i think it is a must watch for anyone who liked girls planet 999, the reason why is pretty obvious once you've seen it.

Loved the reaction. I recommend just getting caught up on the full group videos first so you're set for Queendom in case they perform any of them. I think you've already checked out Hi High and Butterfly right? so "Favorite", "So What", "Star", "PTT", "Hula Hoop (japanese)".
Then, when you have the time, I recommend doing the predebut stuff (Solos and sub-unit MVs) in order of release since it's a good way to get familiar with each member, unit and themes/story.
