This is nice, thanks for letting us know more about you! I sent my dad your video about not taking anti-inflammatories before the mRNA vaccine. He's a doctor but wasn't aware of this, so he watched and appreciated your explanation, and skipped on his meds for the booster dose.

I think you are brilliant…….really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. The scientific community is really kind of insular so it’s nice when someone is willing to share as you have. You are definitely a natural teacher. I’m interested in medicine history……..interesting factoid on the power of outsiders to find breakthroughs: two of the greatest men of all science, Claude Bernard and Louis Pasteur, were never members of a medical school faculty (meaning, Group Think tends to invade the faculty mentality…..Beware.). You’re going to have a great career!

Thank you. Texas has great state schools. My first job was working in a morgue at a large city hospital I needed the money for so i was not choosy. Your videos are very instructive. i tool Immunology in college and found it so complex I barely got a "B" grade. Your videos help me understand it a lot more.

Thanks for sharing your amazing journey! Science has always been an interest of mine, but even more so since being diagnosed with autoimmune issues and most recently a rare neurological disorder (MdDS). It is fascinating and sometimes frustrating how our bodies react to things. I’ve really enjoyed watching your videos. They have given me a better understanding on how/why our bodies/cells and such react…understanding helps with the frustrating parts. :) So glad you started this channel and best wishes for your semester.

I can see you are an outstanding teacher, even though it takes me two weeks of research to understand your one paragraph, especially on Autoimmune conditions (a subject which is close to my heart). I was also interested to find out why an anti-parasitic drug works well with Covid, and BTW did you ever test for bacteria in the sushi, yuk, yuk. Thank you young lady.

I do not know you personally, but I feel very much connected in many ways since I met many gifted children (including my own) and adults with often similar paths of life. Cool background, glad you studied hard in school, I should have hung around kids like you when I was younger.😅. Just subscribed and browsed your videos, you are also the type of teacher I liked learning from in school, the ones who can explain complex things in a way that holds interest so you want to learn more and not bore the kids to death. How the Johnson and Johnson vaccine works interests me if you ever get around to touching on that one. Thanks for the tutoring!😃

Hi, thank you so much for the information that you have been putting out to us. My wife and I really appreciate it. I live in Australia and the rules now are that if I don’t get vaccinated I will eventually lose my job by the end of November. So the pressure is on and I need a little more clarity to make my decision.
Do you know the long term effect of the adenoviral vaccine? I tried to book the astra Zeneca and a big warning came up saying that there are risk of blood clots in my age bracket. So I’m not sure now. I’m 37.
Why does the mRNA technology not last long in our system? Is that because they don’t have a danger signal ingredient like the valvena vaccine has?
Hello, I love your work in explaining immunology topics. :) How can we reference you formally in our assignments in Med School?
Since you asked for ideas for new videos: I would be interested in a video, explaining how the aluminum-containing adjuvants potentiate the immune response, literature is fuzzy about how inflammation and recruitment of antigen-presenting cells, retention of antigen at the injection site, uptake of antigen, dendritic cell maturation, T-cell activation and T-cell differentiation take place. Since there are also some other adjuvants, how would they effect the immune response differently? Thank you.
That’s a great idea for a video! I think there’s is a bit of a mystery around the full effects aluminum adjuvants. Aluminum is a bit of a two for one, since it functions as both a preservative and immune activator. I will do some research on Pubmed.

Have you done a video for the J&J vaccine? I am going to be mandated for work (even though I work from home & have natural immunity from previous infection, so at very low risk) I'm hoping that Novavax will be available before they give us a deadline, but if not, I'm leaning toward J&J. I've loved watching all of your videos regarding the mechanisms used in the different vaccines, but would love to see one on J&J. Thank you for your work in making all of these highly informative videos! They are greatly appreciated!

Hi love your work, my basic understanding of our incredibly complex immune system is just that much better - thank you. If you have the time would really appreciate a video on how the Oxford/Astra Zennica vaccine works. ( not viewed all of your videos yet, there is a certain amount of repeat viewings for best absorption 😊 - it maybe that you have explained in another video not specially titled.)

Thanks so much for this wonderful presentation. What are the the short and long term side effects of this vaccine? Does it cause hemolysis?
There is a small amount of hemolysis from the Saponin detergent. Right now, there have been zero reports of serious adverse effects and no blood clots. The short term side effects are similar to other vaccines like muscle aches, fever, and chills.

Is rhe spike protein similar to what proteins we already have. Someone whos immune system is confused and attaxks their own cells causing Neuro issues wont this make it worse? If someone had covid and experienced months of hell after virus left but continued to attack their nerves and tissues could this be due to the confusion with the spike alone? And if so wouldn't mrna therefore be detrimental on an already fragile body? Noone can seem to answer this for me as to why some people continue attacking themselves and for those that did with virus why the same problems are coming back ten fold after vac? This is causing me great distress due to this unknown and concerns about mandated V and how this will affect my body even further. Thankyou
Here are some more video ideas, too: What exactly is "inflammation" and how is it related to the immune system, either pathologically or non-pathologically? How is inflammation different from or the same as oxidative stress, and does the immune system either affect or be affected by oxidative stress? Thanks.

Very nice videos. Regarding your question about what viewers want to see: could you make some videos that cover the interaction of the immune system with alcohol and with obesity? I.e., how does drinking alcohol affect the immune system both accutely and chronically? And, how do fat cells and excessive fatness affect the immune system? I can imagine you could make quite a few videos to cover these topics...? Thanks.
More great ideas! I think the immune system and alcohol is the one I would do first. I actually have a lecture on this in my class.
Is cbd a real alternative to anti seizure medicine like valproic acid or lacosimide? If unknown thats ok. Neurology may be different. Just trying to get my son off the meds he has been on for 5 years. After 2 surgeries to remove a ganglioglioma. Thanks for your videos.
The New York times had a great article a few years ago saying that for some children (I think it depends on the type of epilepsy) CBD is a real, viable and helpful option. www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/05/14/magazine/cbd-cannabis-cure.html
Best of luck getting your son on the best medication for his condition. CBD works by reducing neurotransmitter production in between two neurons. Seizures are too much neurotransmitters between 2 neurons, so with careful dosing and doctor approval CBD has helped children with epilepsy.

I loved teaching high school students there for one month over the summer! They even put on an immunology play. It was at Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University. The people were kind and I didn't mind wearing abaya and hijab at all. It was so so hot though, and the fire alarm went off when sand got in which was often!
I just go graduated and just when i was thinking that i need to quit studies and look for some job i saw this video and got the know about the struggles that you have been through maam its really motivating .Now i am thinking about Master in Immunology or virology.Hopefully if everything goes well i will try to get into medical school
What makes certain foods likely to create strong allergic reactions like peanuts and sesame? Something inherent about them? Are certain ethics groups better at not developing those allergies?

Dr. Do we know for sure yet if US will get Novavax too, or only poor to middle income countries? I heard the latter...
Other countries do seem to be getting priority over the US. But I have seen news articles saying they are going to the FDA to get approval in the US too.
