this episode really has everything; renko being a dork per usual, merry acknowledging yukari’s existence, renmari cuddling, gorgeous backdrops, sakuya wearing a dapper black attire (reminded me of touhouvania) and the vampire sisters being genuinely terrifying. excited for part 2!
This, this, this. I just watched it and am still recovering, it's blown me away on all these points. It really was a constant treat. Wow. (I'm still recovering from the cuddling scene and Vampire Hunter Sakuya.)
the animation quality jump is incredible, and i don't think i was on the edge of my seat this much from watching a show like this in a long ass time, fucking well done to the creators
You can just compare the animation of the OP (which is the old animation quality) to the animation of the episode just to see the huge bump in animation.
Was really cool finding out about this series since I've been interested in Maribel and Renko ever since I found out about them in 2012. The lore about them being the only humans who got an idea about Gensokyo and trying to figure out about it is so cool!

... i don't think soo... i mean, in the first episode we had various póster cameos of various touhou characters + two cosplayers of Reimu and Marisa, but the second episode wasn’t about then. In the second episode we had the names of Dr. Lattercy and a Chirumiru milk cartón, but this episode doesn't even have any cirno on it... plus there's also a lot of other touhou paintings in the background too, and i feel that the next episode won't have any of the characters on it as a main focus... or maybe yes?...
