That was interesting, Katie! I believe all of the carvings you have collected are from Brasstown carvers, right? I looked up a couple of the carvers. Now, I’m going to be on the lookout for carvings in my neck of the woods. Such a beautiful craft!

Your collection is sooo cool…I’m not a collector of anything. I’m 68 yrs old and for about 4 hrs I turned into a minimalist… now I focus on my health, hiking, eating healthy and I just started hiking… I really enjoy your channel and I wish you would talk more about your pregnancy… can’t wait to meet your precious little one 🍼
Shadow boxes are so fun for little collectibles. My daughter has one that originally was her great grandmother's, it's very special to her. It's nice to collect things. God bless you, Katie! You look healthy and glowing.

I was listening earlier while putting on make-up, only glancing. I knew it was Katie doing the video, yet I had to stop a minute...thinking "This sounds like Corie, is this Katie?" So wild when one of you sounds just like the other (despite fact you're twins and my money's on identical). These items are precious, I love 'em and understand why they're dear to you. No shadow boxes here but I did collect eggs for many years. I'd go to flea markets searching for them. It was like hunting Easter eggs. Not so easily found. 😊

I have a lot of little things that would mean nothing to anyone else. I love them all.
Katie, I really enjoyed seeing your collectibles. I keep all sorts of found objects & things that have sentimental meaning, some of which are in a shadow box and printer's case. Hearing you describe why some of your treasures are special to you sounded like the sort of thing I could say about some of mine. As a side note, you'll probably appreciate my astonishment when a friend recently decluttered & packed all her remaining possessions in order to move to a smaller place -- all in a month's time!! Can you imagine?!

Your shadow boxes are full of such interesting things! I loved the wood carvings and how knowledgeable you are about the artists that made them. I started collecting little elephants after a neighbor sold me a handful during her yard sale when I was just a kid. I have all kinds of different ones now that I circulate throughout the year. I have been collecting miniatures and many other sizes of shadow box and shelf items for many years. I have many shadow boxes and shelves all over my home, not to mention trinket boxes and small chests where I keep all my treasures. I really enjoyed seeing and hearing about your treasures💝💝💝😘

I think you have a great collection of things. Every piece has meaning for you, and there is a beautiful story behind every one. It seems nowadays, we buy mass produced things, but there is no real sentimental value behind it. Those shadow boxes give your followers, (including myself) a sense of what you value and appreciate in life. God bless you, and thank you for the video.
Katie, take the owl that you started and narrow the head from the sides, add a verticle line on each side of the body to look like folded wings and then you would have a Hawk. You could name it Katie Hawk, that would give Us a Kitty Hawk and Katie Hawk in N.C.Thanx for sharing, God bless. 😃

I enjoyed the tour of your shadow boxes so much. I, too have shadow boxes. But mine are in the form of printer’s trays and they are filled to capacity with sewing thimbles that I’ve collected since 1978. I think I have about 350 now, I still at the age of 80 take them down and toy with them. Thinking about where and when and why I acquired each one. They are a pleasure to look at and hold a lot of memories.

Thank you Katie for taking us on this tour. I loved seeing what you've collected. That owl carving you started but didn't finish looks good just the way it is. What great lines in the wood on the back. I collect rocks. I find most of them along local rivers. I also have a collection of interesting things I find along the way like driftwood, Canada goose feathers, bottles, sand, and dirt from places that are special to me. I don't have a shadow box but I have wanted one. One other thing I like to collect is keychains.

I LOVE rocks and I have collected them ever since I was a wee little one. Many, many moons ago 😜 I also love keys and have collected them since I was a wee little one. Love different bottles as well. I collected years ago, but stopped for some reason idk. I do still have some of them from when I was younger. I do keep my eye open and if i see one that really speaks to me ill get it if i can. I’m not really a big reader, but for some reason i LOVE books! I’ve gotten rid of so many and need to purge a lot more. I just don’t have the room for them.

Loved your collections. My mom collected owls and had a pretty big carved blood hounds head piece that I now have since she passed. My girls and I picked out the owls she had to keep to remember her. When we see owls in the second hand store we always look for the unusual ones because that's the ones mom would have liked. Thanks for sharing and telling the stories behind them. I love seeing your keepsakes - I have so many things similar to yours. I have bookcases and a glass front lawyer's bookcase that I keep many items in. Rocks, little bottles and carvings - you would appreciate it. I don't have anyone to show my things to- I wish I could show you! Thanks Katie! ❤🦉

Sweet memories
I also have two shadow boxes. One holds a collection of small animal figurines made of different materials. In the other one I keep an ever changing assortment of kitchen items and knick knacks. Right now it holds a garlic bulb, some seed packets, postage stamps and a a small paper mache' man my husband made when he was a boy.

I’m trying to make a shadow box to hold my Great great grandfathers fiddle, I want the back to show because the wood grain holds a giant oak tree in it and there is no chin rest, tailpiece, bridge or strings on it for now until I can get it to a repair shop that I trust, I just love shadow boxes

I've visited the glass beach. It's a lovely coastal area, but I went in winter, so it was so windy and cold! There were signs that said it's illegal to take the glass, so I didn't take any, but I wanted to. 😬
