    Quite compelling how-to video - you have a talent for explaining things quickly and clearly - I just got a RX100 and I'm a pro time lapse producer, so this is great info for the new camera.

    Well, yet another concise tutorial. Very useful to Sony users and if haven't seen many tutorials on the matter that aren't incredibly long or in multiple parts. Good on you, sir 👌🏾

    Good video, thx. You use the RX100, the actually battery allows max. 400 pictures, is it possible to conect the camera with a powerbank?

      Yes it is, I actually use mine with multiple power banks when shooting.

    is there any way to exceed 990 shots? for cloud dynamics i'd rather edit a very long capture rather than need to miss something great during any gap between consecutive capture sessions

    Hey, I know the RX100 V can do exposures of 30 seconds. What is the longest exposure you can do in time lapse mode? I’m thinking big city streaking lights from cars at around 2 to 5 seconds. On the fence about buying the camera.

    • @Channel8eight
      @Channel8eight  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The largest interval you can shoot in the timelapse app is 60 seconds, so you should be more than fine. Keep in mind however, that when you do a really long exposure the camera takes up quite some time applying noise reduction to the image and this can take up to the same amount of time of your exposure. So for example there are times I've shot 5 second exposures and the NR took 6 seconds to sort itself out.

      Thanks, that's really helpful information. I figured the processing might be a problem. Great video btw.

    That's a great video, thing that annoys me with any apps example we have a A6000 + lenses we have the RX100 mark 4, plus heaps of extras why should we be paying for the apps they should be free if it's Sony it should be a way to keep people buying their cameras and products. I checked for free apps every few months

  • @Trazynn
    @Trazynn 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    What is the smallest interval?

    • @Channel8eight
      @Channel8eight  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shortest interval is 1 second but I doubt any camera will be able to keep up especially if you're shooting RAW.

  • @menosobota552

    Is this feature available on all RX100 models? Specifically in the RX100 II ?

    • @mikoistvan
      @mikoistvan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Channel8eight you should mention the RX100 models that can do what you explain.
      RX100 written without any Mark II, III, IV, V, VI refers to the basic/first model.
      In this case your title is misleading. please change.

    • @automan25
      @automan25 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the model II as well and would love to be able to do this. Unfortunately I don't see in the camera menu where you can install an application on the camera.

    How important is playmemories? Do i need it to do timelapses or can i do that in another way?

    • @Channel8eight
      @Channel8eight  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For Sony cameras it is the only built in way, the only other way would be using an intervalometer but they usually cost more than the app so... maybe that $10 isn't that bad after all.

    • @robertsoderberg5589
      @robertsoderberg5589 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey again and thanks for the answer. I know this hasn't anything to do with timelapses, but I just got the Sony RX100V and I wonder if there should be black bars on the screen while recording? When taking photos, there's no bars. Is there any settings I could change or is it just how its supposed to be? Can't find any answers on this one.

    • @KerryPhillips

      that has to do with LED lights and mercury vapor lamps at lower shutter speeds and on silent mode. If you get into slower shutter speeds with cheap non sync LED lights you may have banding present at certain shutter speeds and sensitivity
